    Editorial Review

Milwaukee has put together an 18-volt cordless combo kit designed to provide comfort, durability, and power in a variety of workplace environments. Each tool operates on a 2.4 amp hr battery designed to optimize run time efficiency. The Sawzall Hatchet tool is like a cordless recip saw on steroids, delivering 0 to 2,700 spm, and it's also the only cordless reciprocating saw to offer orbital action (in addition to straight reciprocating action) for aggressive wood cutting. Making cuts in confined spaces is easier, too, thanks to the Hatchet's multiposition folding handle, which can reduce the tool's length to a mere 13 inches. The Hatchet's counterbalance mechanism provides smooth operation, while the Quik-Lok blade clamp makes switching out blades a snap. The ruggedly built 6-1/2-inch circular saw spins at 3,200 rpm and cuts easily through two-by material at 45 degrees. The circular saw also features an ergonomic design and an electric brake that saves time between cuts. The kit's two-speed drill/driver sports a burly, keyless chuck and provides up to 400 in./lbs. of torque in low gear and 0 to 1,500 rpm at high speed. The reversible battery pack lets you use the drill in tight spaces; the T-handle design offers great balance; and a 20-position adjustable clutch ensures just the right power for the job at hand, minimizing stripped screws and snapped heads. In addition to these tools, the combo kit also includes a work light, a contractor bag, and a job site radio designed to withstand an 8-foot drop onto solid concrete. This rugged, rockin' unit features Rockford Fosgate sound, digital tuning with 20 AM/FM presets, 5-1/4-inch weather-resistant speakers, and the ability to receive NOAA weather broadcasts where available. --Carl Thress ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Simply the BEST
This kit includes all of the best from Milwaukee. The Hachet Sawzall can not be compared to any others in any way. The circular saw is more powerful than others that I have used. The Drill is also top quality and feels right. The 2.4 ah batteries last longer between charges than any others I have seen. The radio even seems like it will last a lifetime and radios always break on job sites. Go with Milwaukee and say no to all of the others. Porter Cable is close in some ways and DeWalt is the biggest looser all around.

    Editorial Review

This is the barrel-grip version of Bosch's bestselling top-handle 1587 model. Many woodworkers prefer the barrel grip on this model, however, arguing that it's easier to cut scrolls and curves when the saw is pushed forward (as opposed to down). Aside from the difference in grip, this saw is much like its top-handle counterpart: the balance is superb, the 5 amp motor packs plenty of power, the foot plate tilts left and right (up to 45 degrees), and the base retracts for flush cutting. The tool-free blade-changing system also works well. Simply put, this a compact, powerful, well-designed saw--a perfect buy for users who prefer barrel grips. --Jon Groebner ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful tool
Whether ripping straight lines through plywood or making intricate scroll cuts, this jigsaw performs flawlessly. The quality is apparent just by holding it your hand- it's one of those tools that will probably outlive it's owner...Knocking it because of the country of origin is a philosophical/political argument and says nothing about the actual quality of the tool.Bosch's industry best 3 year warranty and the positive comments from people who have actually used it speaks volumes though.

2-0 out of 5 stars Made in China, should be $10
Where is the savings?Pay a premium for an item made in China at a huge discount. That sounds like a good deal (no jobs left and no savings - sign me up for that program).I will return this "discounted" item asap; or better yet, use it as a hammer.

My quest begins for tools made in this country - such as Milwaukee orbital sawzall: good price, excellent tool, would have paid much more.I do not care if a tool(made here) costs three times as much as one made in China and I have to spend three weeks locating it!Tell that to your economics professor.

5-0 out of 5 stars Made in China -- so what?
I first bought a DeWalt, and it was horrible -- tons of blade deflection, slow cutting, etc. Someone recommended the Bosch, and it was like night and day. This is the Cadillac of jigsaws! I've owned the top handle version for six years now, and I'm about to add the barrel grip to my collection.

To the reviewer who was shocked to discover that this "supposedly quality tool" was made in China (which has long been known as the PRC): did you really give this excellent tool one star simply due to its origin? My goodness, I'm going to love explaining this to my friends here in China... ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Smashing Hammer
I bought this hammer based on the great reputation that Vaughan has. I use this hammer often and the nail slot comes in real handy in restricted area's and for people like me who on occasion have smashed thumbs, lol. The hammer has held up well and I am very happy, I almost bought one of those expensive titanium hammers but after doing my homework I decided to go with the CFB2HCM and with the money I saved I bought I nice chisel set. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Read the instructions
Been using it for about 6 months. When I first got it I tore off the cardboard holder without reading the directions for changing the blades and had the same problems as many have posted. Once I found out how to use it, it works great every time. Blade changes are easy and reversing the blade is extrememly quick and simple. The blade always retracts completely. If you buy it, read the instructions!

5-0 out of 5 stars READ ME Eric Pruss... it is me and you
Eric and I have the same idea. The knife is great, hands down best I've ever used. Ok so you cant change the blade in 5 seconds, but I can in well under a minute while on the cell phone. So all you guys who are construction workers who cant work a utility knife I really feel sorry for you and your companys. In order to have the blade all the way down so you do not cut yourself press the yellow button and push the new blade down until the second rivet catches. Also the knife is very comfortable, can hold up to like 8 blades for storage and fits in knife sheaths great even with its 'L' shape. One minus is the string cutter, pretty much worthless.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not perfect, but if you pay attention, it is well worth it.
I have had this knife for about three years now and use it constantly... A boss I had a couple years ago saw me changing a blade one day and wanted t osee it... I showed it to him and he liked it so much, he went and bought 3 or 4 for the shop. ALL of them worked PRECISELY the same as mine. It's so perfectly simple to change blades, it's downright silly, BUT... there is a catch...

This tool has one GLARING flaw... It's simply not immediately obvious how to PROPERLY operate it to change blades. However, I have it down pat, so follow along and learn...

To remove a blade, it takes three steps...

    1) Push the slider button down and forward ALL the way to the front until it stops (three position stops)...

    2) Now, PRESS the slider button down and press forward... it will click and stay down.

    3) FIRMLY press on the yellow release button with your thumb and grasp the blade and withdraw it...

    To insert a new blade...

    1) PRESS AND HOLD the yellow button and grasping blade with thumb and forefinger of opposite hand, insert blade into tool and push all the way back until it stop moving (there should be little or no resistance.

    2) RETRACT the blade normally.

    Notes:

    1) If you try to insert a blade WITHOUT PRESSING AND HOLDING THE YELLOW BUTTON, the blade will pop the lock into place and the blade will not fit into the tool.

    2) If when the blade is inserted and the slider is all the way back, if the blade sticks out any at all, then the blade is NOT installed correctly. Follow the steps to remove the blade and try inserting it again, and BE SUER to push it all the way back before releasing the yellow button. If you do this properly, you will have NO problems.

Having used a number of these knives, I assure EVERYONE, if you do these steps PRECISELY as described, this knife works perfectly every time!!! It really is JUST THAT SIMPLE! ... Read more

    Editorial Review

While there are a number of rotary tools on the market made by a host of different manufacturers, the Dremel Moto Tool is the one they all strive to copy. Dremel's MultiPro variable-speed model is great for a huge range of projects, from home improvement tasks to hobbies and crafting. It has a continuously adjustable speed range from 5,000 to 35,000 rpm, which allows the user to effectively work with materials as soft as balsa wood and as hard as ceramics. The kit comes with an assortment of accessories and a handy carrying case. Others may copy it, but Dremel has been making rotary tools so long they've come close to perfecting the idea. --Brian Trinen ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Hate to burst the Dremel bubble..
    Two problems..

Although I rarely use mine (maybe once every two months), sometime during the first year I started having to fight my charger so it would charge the tool.

Secondly, The variable switch stopped working. So now I have only one speed..High.

I plan on shipping it back to get it fixed, but since I rarely use it, it hasn't been a top priority..

When you pay for a expensive tool, you expect it to be dependable and not stop working right in a few months when you're not using it.

I guess I should have stuck with Lowes's house brand...
