How many more projects could you complete in a year if you cut your sanding time by 75 percent? Put down that random orbital and check this out. This open-ended drum sander allows you to quickly sand materials up to 32 inches wide with just two passes through the machine. The 16-32 Plus has a 14 amp, 1-1/2-horsepower, continuous-duty motor, which means it will work harder for longer. The drum operates at 1,700 rpm while the feed adjusts infinitely between 0 and 10 feet per minute. More importantly, Performax invented a special spring clip to hold the end of the sandpaper roll, which makes for quick and easy paper changes, which is much more convenient than the changes of competing systems. And, while it's great for sanding larger boards, this Performax machine can also handle pieces as small as 2-1/4 inches long.

Parallel alignment of the drum is a simple turn of a precisionthumbscrew on the side of the machine, while competing machines requiretwo wrenches. Making this adjustment quickly and accurately iscritical. When sanding larger boards in two passes, it's best to setthe drum slightly off parallel so you end up with a small hump in themiddle, which the user can quickly fix with a random orbit sander, rather than ending up with a valley, which ruins the piece. ThisPerformax also features a ceramic tracking guide to reduce the numberof adjustments needed during sanding. Worried about snipe? You canadjust the foot-pounds of pressure and/or the contact to the roller.Try that with other drum sanders. Because the machine is of such burlyconstruction and the parallel adjustment of the arm is so simple, thedrum arm doesn't suffer from flexing problems. Use this tool instead ofa planer, or park them side-by-side in your shop. This tool is a dreamfor small commercial shops or anyone who just hates sanding. --NancyGleason ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Worst Tool In My Shop
Purchased the 16-32 from Amazon.com almost a year ago. I really wish I could say just one good word about this machine, but cannot.I purchased the machine to save time, therefore expense, and to improve the quality of my work. Sadly, it has failed on all counts. In fact, just the oppisite has occured.
The machine arrived on time and in good condition. Assembly was basically simple and straight forward. The first problem occured on the first use and was a forebearer of things to come. The main motor overload switch was defective and cut out immediately when put under load. I contacted WMH tool group, whose tech service is first rate and very helpful, and a new switch was sent right away. Next I noticed that the feed belt did not track properly. One year later, calls to tech service, and many attempts at adjustment, it still does not track properly. At about 5 months the original feed belt disintegrated, a $50 replacement expense. Next problem was sanding strips loading up after short use. Tech service advised me to soak them in Simple Green to clean them. This works, but it is a PIA, and Tech service didn't tell me that soon after doing this the the ends of the strips fray and come loose, usually causing a disaster. I finally learned the only way to get any strip life at all, as well as getting any quality work, is to bearly have the abrasive kiss the work. Never more that a quarter turn of the adjustment handle at a time, as well as using a very slow feed speed. This is all well and good except it takes you forever to get anything done. So much for time saving. Next problem is installing the strips. I am not an mechanical engineer, but if one could not design a better way of fastening the ends of the strips, they should just give up and find another profession. It is totalfinger busting aggravation. The stupid little tool that is supposed to assist in this task is a total joke. I have asked several users about this and all I get is a smile and the remark "I threw mine away". Finally the worst problem. I soon found out that if sanding anything longer than two feet, the machine left snipe marks about two inches from each end. These marks are very slight, cannot be seen or felt until stain is applied to the piece. Then there is no choice but to totally resand (by hand) the piece. I have talked to tech service about this and made every adjustment reccommended, all to no avail. Maybe the oppional extension tables would help, but another $100 at this point? Don't think so. Also the name says 16-32. Better to say 13. To sand near the ends of the drum invites diaster. To sand a wide piece from each side, forget it. Yes, my drum is adjusted perfectly parallel. Spent a large amount of time checking and rechecking this adjustment, as it is the most important one.
The final straw came when this machine nearly ruined the table top from a $1200 table. It is now in the corner of my shop, waiting my decision on what to do with it.
In my opinion, this machine is only good for sanding small parts, if everything goes well. Even that takes more time than sanding by hand ( belt or orbital sander).

2-0 out of 5 stars Not what I had hoped for
I wonder if all of these other reviewers are using the same machine as I have been for the last 5 years. My relationship with the sander is truly a love, hate one. When it works great I love it for the time savings, but when things go wrong (which they often due) I truly hate this machine.
One of the first problems I had was snipes, at the beginning and end of long boards. After working extensively with there Performax's technical staff (which is one of the best in the business), I finally gave up and just sanded out the problems with my ROS later.
The next problem is with the underpower of the machine.I cannot count how many times I have been sanding a board and come to a rough spot and had the motor stall. This causes an enormous gouge in the board that requires you to remove another 1/16" to conceal the problem.
The newest problem that I have been having is with the sandpaper over lapping itself on the drum. This will not only cause a black streak on the board, but also destroy an $8.00 piece of sandpaper. (yes it is tight on the drum and no I am not stupid)
Would I buy this machine again? No. Too much headache for the few times that it has really benefited me.

5-0 out of 5 stars Right Sized, but Heavy Duty!
I've waited too long to purchase the Performax 16-32 Plus.I wish I would had it years ago.I purchase rough cut exotic hardwoods from the mill. Most often it is the waviest and curliest grains I need or desire.A knife borne planer is out of the question; professional sanding costs at least $60.00 an hour. The 16-32 Plus is built for continuous duty while taking up a minimum of shop space.Assembly was smooth and contruction is sturdy; took about 90 minutes at a steady pace.Alignment was checked but required no adjustment. Operation is smooth consistant; surfaced 100 board feet of Hawaiian Koa in one day.I bought the in/outfeed tables but haven't needed them.I opt'd for after market casters (Woodcraft) vice the optional $100.00 ones. Don't let the price scare you; buy quality and cry once, buy an imitation and cry everytime you use it.NOTES: You must have a good dust collection system, the 16-32 produces!Use a dedicated 20A circuit and a short heavy duty extension cord.Lastly, Enjoy the hobby. ... This jointer arrived perfect. It was easy to assemble. The long infeed and outfeed tables make all the difference. Click and buy it.. no tax and free shipping!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Buy It
The first review listed is extremely accurate so I would just be repeating already listed info...so read it again. The outfeed table wheel is tough to turn for little hands (I'm a woman) but that table rarely needs adjustment anyway. The optional knife gauge is pretty steep $$wise, so I recommend the Delta Jointer pal 37-157 to align your knives perfectly with each other & the outfeed table. This sells at Rockler for $72.99 but you can buy it at the amazon tool crib here for less. The dust port is large enough to be extremely effective when hooked to a 4 inch dust collection hose.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best of Bunch
I purchased the model 54A 6" jointer this past summer as a replacement for an open stand model from another company. Shipping and service from Amazon.com was prompt, the jointer arrived in good condition. Assembly was sraight forward and simple but does require the assistance of a helper to get the massive head onto the base. I have used the unit for several months now. and continue to be impressed with this machine. Fit and finish are excellent, it is a snap to adjust, and the extra long beds are all I was hoping for. A little pricey, but well worth the cost. It works well with my dust collection (a big contrast to my previous machine) leaving very little for the broom. The two precision-ground, cast-iron wings set this saw apartfrom average contractor-style saws with steel wings. Heavy-dutycast-iron trunnions support the sealed ball-bearings' blade arborhousing for a smooth performance with minimal vibration. JET also usestotally enclosed fan-cooled motors, preventing overheating and dustinfiltration and resulting in longer motor life and less risk of a firehazard than with open motor housing. The stand for this saw is made ofa tougher-gauge metal and has a 4-inch dust port for easy connection toa dust collector. Another user-friendly feature is the quick-connectelectrical plug right at the saw, meaning you don't have to search outthe wall socket prior to every blade change. JET has also located theon/off switch at the top left for easy access when a quick shutdown isrequired. A change in the hole pattern on the fence rails means leftiescan now shift the set to their preferences. The fit, finish, and use ofa more durable powder coating instead of paint will make a proud ownerof every user--from the beginner who wants to learn with confidence tothe seasoned pro who doesn't have space for a full-size cabinet saw.--Nancy Gleason ... 4-0 out of 5 stars 4 stars with Jet Fence - 5 with Xacta II
This was my first Jet purchase.
Runs very good. I never liked the Jet fence though, it seems a little short and I wish it had more support on the outfeed side.
I ended up buying a xacta fence II which is made by HTC. Was like night and day.
This functions almost like a cabinet saw, at least in my dreams with these additions:
I replaced the v-belt with a link belt which made the saw quite and a bit smoother. I also replaced the manufacturer supplied trunion bolts in the saw with the PALS (Precision Alignment System) which allows you to micro adjust your blade's alignment.

Assembly as all my Jet purchases have been a breeze. Until it's time to align the belt and apply tension to the belt. That is the tricky part with a one-man assembly.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Saw
I ordered this saw through Amazon. Assembly and instructions were pretty easy. I used a straight edge (that's used to check
engine blocks & heads) for setting the wings and they are right on. I switched it over to 220, the saw has cut everything I threw at it with like butter. Problem still unresolved, the pivot pin for the miter gauge was missing. Call Jet and since I bought it from Amazon, I have to get parts through Amazon. So far it's been over 2 weeks and still no part. Was going to order the Jet Jointer but after the fence deal I bought it from a local Woodcraft store. Other then that I'm happy with the saw.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best contractor saw available!
I am a 17 year-old woodworker, and I have had my Jet 10" contractor saw for a little over a year now, and it has performed amazingly. I wanted to get a cabinet saw but I barely had enough money to get a contractor saw. After doing some research i decided on getting a Jet table saw with its nice powder coating paint, and its nicely polished cast iron top. This sawcuts nicely and is pretty quiet, and I love the soundof the saw, especially when the blade break stops the blade. I made a 4'x5' outfeed table, And just recently purchased a 40" Biesemeyer home shop rip fence, and now the saw is just perfect, I can cut a full sheet of plywood all by myself effortlesly. When I first got it I added a power-link belt which dramatically cut down the vibration, One day ill get a cabinet saw, but for noe this saw does the perfect job, good investment. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars inexpensive but problematic
The main problem I found with the router was the poorly fitting 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch collet. Both were too large to fit standard router bits when the compression nut was in place. Ihad grind the hardened steel collets on a lathe ( to avoid unbalancing the rapidly turning bits) to fit. The second problem I found was that the system that controls the depth of bits is sprung to high. This makes it difficult to extend the bits without using excessive force to compress the springs. The adjustment knob, usefull for fine adjustments, also requires excessive force to turn when the springs are near full compression. Because the knob compresses only one side it will jam pulling the router out of alignment. This makes it difficult to use in a table. The final major complaint is the collet doesnot extend far enough for some short router bits. In summary inexpesive but beware of its limitations.

    Editorial Review

This DeWalt circular saw is a rugged tool designed with professional carpenters' needs in mind. It has a 15 amp motor that produces a whopping 2,075 watts, which is equivalent to 2-3/4 horsepower. In less scientific terms those numbers mean this saw can slice through lumber like a tornado through a trailer park. If that's a little too fast for you, it also comes with an electric brake for quick stops. The generous 5-1/2-inch base pivots for depth of cut and bevels on a ball-joint mechanism that offers smoother, faster adjustments than the simple hinge arrangement typically found on other saws. It has a bevel capacity of 0 to 50 degrees, and--like the depth-of-cut gauge--the bevel gauge can be easily recalibrated if the saw takes a tumble on the job. Depth-of-cut adjustments are made by unscrewing the front handle a bit, adjusting to the desired depth, and screwing it back down tight. This operation is so smooth it can be done without even changing your grip on the saw, reducing downtime between cuts. The saw's construction is solid throughout and it should live a long life, even on the toughest job sites. Blade changes are quick, thanks in part to the easy-to-reach shaft lock button; however, onboard storage of the blade-changing wrench would be an improvement. This is a great tool for serious professionals in need of serious cutting power. At 12.3 pounds, it isn't the lightest model available, but big power doesn't come in small packages, and 7-1/4-inch sidewinder circular saws don't get any burlier than this. --Brian Trinen ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Great within its limits.
My wife bought me this for Christmas last year.(You gotta love tools for Christmas.)The grinder is great for everything I have used it for.Cutting steel, grinding welds, grinding some concrete and masonry. The only thing that it doesn't work for is the lack of a guard that is designed to work with diamond wheels.I needed to cut some concrete and I needed to use a diamond wheel to do it, come to find out you've got to drop a good chunck of change for a different guard.Well, I figured out another way to get done what I needed, didn't buy the new guard and still like the grinder. It should have come with a guard that would work for whatever you are going to use it for. That said, if you're not going to ever use diamond wheels, this grinder works well and I have no reservations recommending it.

3-0 out of 5 stars want to trade it for a coffee grinder?
I bought this tool with the sole intention of cutting concrete for repair work around the yard. The fact that the guard supplied isn't rated for the 4 1/2" diamond wheel was a shame, I should have looked at the price of the "additional accessories" before I bought this thing, it turns a reasonable purchase into one I would reconsider. So, casting safety asside, I used the standard guard. In all, it's a fair grinder. I cut through 3" slab no problem, ground the edges on a set of brick pillars. The switch then started to get 'sticky' from all the dust...I should have bought the Bosch.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not that heavy duty
DeWalt makes good tools for the homeowner. I purchased this grinder because it looked and handled well. I wanted to use the grinder with a cut off wheel but found it can not without an adapter. DeWalt needs to put this information on the box. I had to return the grinder for this reason. This heavy duty grinder only does light duty tasks. ... Read more

If you're looking for a circular saw that's convenient and easyto use above all else, DeWalt's 14.4-volt, 5-3/8-inch circular trim sawis a smart choice. This saw includes a tough metal base plate, a beveladjustment that goes to 50 degrees and can be recalibrated, and adepth-of-cut adjustment that reaches all the way to the blade. Iteasily cuts two-by material in a single pass, and has a left-side bladethat adds visibility. We especially liked the blade-changing mechanism:the shaft-lock button is easy to find and depress, and the hex keystores on the body of the saw, making the blade easy to switch out andreplace. This model also has a fan-cooled motor with replaceablebrushes that will reach 3,000 rpm. The result is a cordless saw thatcuts 25 feet per minute of 1/2-inch plywood. The saw weighs only 6.8pounds, and without a cord to hassle with, you'll find that nothing iseasier to haul around on a job site. Especially for smaller jobs, acordless saw is a serious timesaver. I had to replace my sand and finish hickory floor in the kitchen due to water problems.I used my dewalt 14.4 cordless saw to cut the floor around the cabinets in several areas.I must say I was suprised by this little saw. It's got guts to rip through hickory the way it did.

3-0 out of 5 stars Saw good Batteries Bad
I have my own repair business and use this saw occasionally and it never fails to have dead batteries when I'm ready to use it. No matter when I charged them last, they will not hold a charge for any length of time. Other than that it's a good saw, but I should have stuck with Milwaukee products for heavy usage. Have had no problems with Milwaukees batteries.

I've had this saw for about 6 yrs. Got it as a gift when it first came out. It's the first saw I reach for . I certainly would'nt recomend it for everyday heavy use contruction. I use it for general purpose cutting. Just finished framing a basement with it.Never took my corded saw on the job. Second battery is a must. Never had any problems. Still using original blade. Highly recomend it for those who like getting away from the mess and tangles of cords. It's lightweight to boot compared to the new 18, 24 volt models that are out. Dave ... Read more

JET's planer/molder handles material up to 13 inches wide andup to 6 inches in height. The tool's 1-1/2-horse, 110-volt motor (youcan easily rewire it to 230 volts) spins the three-knife cutterhead.Depending on the application, the machine runs 10 to 20 board feet perminute. The motor is fan-cooled and enclosed, too, so it doesn'toverheat and stays protected from dust. The cast-iron table lendsplenty of heft and contact surface, while the rubberized infeed andoutfeed rollers support the work without marring it. As is standardwith most planers, it comes with an incorporated dust chute--so it'ssimple to hook up to a dust collector and keep the shop clean. Fourlockable casters (not standard) make it easy to maneuver the tool in atight shop. For people working in home restoration, this tool is agodsend. To match new replacement molding with the existing material, copy the profile of the existing molding, get custom knives made, andcut your own replacement. A helpful video is included that walks youthrough the process of changing and setting blades. 5-0 out of 5 stars Great value, user friendly, planing and moulding
I have a small full time cabinet shop, and needed a new planer, and wanted a moulder for a long time.I purchased this model and have been very happy with the performance. It is much quieter than the portable machine I had, and planes the material much faster with a better quality cut than the portable models. The first time I set up the crown moulding cutters, it took me about 1/2 hour to set up the machine and make a bed to guide the boards through, and the mouldings that came out are a better quality than those that I have purchased at my local lumber yard.I also found that the knives for the 13" Grizzley moulder are interchangable with the Jet, so finding new knives is a piece of cake. For the hobbyist or the small shop that can't afford a dedicated planer and dedicated moulder, the Jet is the answer.Great machine

4-0 out of 5 stars maybe try the 16 inch
When I bought this, about a year ago, it seemed like a good choice for a home hobbiest. The 15 inch Delta,Jet,or Powermatic, would have been nicer, but they were a couple hundred dollars or so more money. I think it works great. The rollers are real grabby, and I get 3 inches of snipe on each end, maybe it is user error or machine setup, I don't know. The mobile base is nice, but it doesn't lock down as hard as it should, but good enough.I would look at the new 16 inch model now which is almost the same price. Most wood is never over 13 inches, but for gluing boards together 16 inches would be a lot nicer. The outfeed and infeed rollers are ok.The problem is, the table moves up and down instead of the cutter.I didn't realize how inconvenient this is (when using additional rollers). I have never used the molder.Maybe someday I will, that would be fun.For planing only, I would look at the new 16 inch 3 hp Jet planer.I wish they would have had it a year ago, but I am very satisfied with what I have too.

4-0 out of 5 stars JPM-13CS is a good deal, but the options will get you.
    JPM-13CS

I purchased my JPM-13CS in October of 2000.I promptly wired it for 220v.It is still going strong.I have done several hundred feet of lumber (birch, brown maple, basswood, pine, hackberry, oak) with it so far and I am still on the original blades. It does a nice, smooth job, but max planing speed is only 20 feet per minute. I seldom get snipe, and in 3 years of use, I haven't figured out exactly why some boards do, and some don't.Narrow boards (about 4 inch or less) seem to do it more so than wide boards.
I purchased a molding set for tongue and groove, and made a few hundred feet of basswood paneling.I strongly discourage anyone from going this route to make paneling. It is a slow, tedious process, and the available T&G set does not make the V chamfer groove, so an extra step through the router to make the chamfer was needed.I learned my lesson and bought a router bit set that makes the tongue and grove with the v chamfer.
I tried using this planer without a dust collector. It got about 2 feet and jammed without the collector.
I also purchased the optional "Curved Molding" table for the planer.I have not used it yet, but the attachment is very expensive for what it is.(A sheet of 3/4" white Teflon or plastic with slotted holes, and some bearings and bolts) ... Read more

Delta 36-220 10" Compound Miter Saw
Average Customer Review: 3.5 out of 5 stars
    Tools & Hardware

    Editorial Review

This 10-inch compound miter saw from Delta is a sturdy, well-balanced, smooth-cutting saw perfect for use on the job site or in a small shop. Its safety-conscious design includes an electric brake, a see-through retracting blade guard, and a dust and chip collection system. We found the table extensions to be sturdy enough for most uses, and we like Delta's inclusion of a stock stop, which is handy for making repetitive cuts accurately. The blade tilts 45 degrees to the left, and the table pivots a full 45 degrees in both directions. This saw has a maximum bite of 1-3/4 by 3-1/2 inches (just enough for most two-by-fours) when set to a full 45-by-45-degree compound cut.

There are certainly other compound miter saws (including one from Delta) that offer a bigger bite, but considering the exceptionally good price on this model, we don't think you'll find another saw that offers as much value for the money. The 36-220 is a little heavier and more challenging to move around a job site than some competing portable saws, but that weight is due to Delta's solid construction, and it gives the saw a level of stability and accuracy we think is worth the extra heft. Delta priced this saw to be affordable for home users, but they built it to withstand the rigors of professional use. We think it's an all-around excellent saw. --Brian Trinen ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Blade guard is poor design
The saw cuts well and has plenty of power. The sticking arm on the blade guard broke the plastic attachment point.I've noticed that this is the only model I've seen from Delta that has a plastic attachment point for the blade guard arm. Will keep you in shape moving it around.

2-0 out of 5 stars Short Life Span
I too got a little over one year of use from my Delta 36-220.It experienced a complete motor failure.Repair cost was greater than the cost of a new identical one.The saw worked very well up to it's failure.I would not purchase another Delta Miter Saw!

4-0 out of 5 stars I've punished my saw severely but it's still holding up.
I have been using my Delta 36-220 to cut 3/4 steel rod, 3/4 x 3/4 steel stock and up to 3/4 x 3" steel plates. I installed a metal cutting blade and let the sparks fly. I've melted the plastic insert, melted holes in the dust bag, and popped 20 amp breakers when an "old" blade gets jammed in the stock. I've made hundreds of cuts and the saw just keeps on working. When I switch back to a wood cutting blade, it cuts just as smooth as when the saw was new.

I returned the first unit I bought because the round table rocked in the housing, but the replacment saw was nice and tight and keeps on doing everything I've asked of it. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

When we bought our first router, we agonized about whether to buy a fixed base or a plunge. Well, we went for the fixed base; in fact, it was this model's predecessor, the Porter-Cable 690. But just as you'd imagine, we also ended up buying a plunge router later on. Had this deal been available back then, we'd have snapped it up. It offers one of the best basic fixed-base routers on the market with a second base that turns it into a plunge. The fixed base has P-C's neat micrometer ring adjustment that lets you raise or lower your bit just a hairsbreadth. This set is ideal for mounting the fixed base in a router table and lifting the body out to use in the plunge base, which, by the way, operates smoothly, has a nice chip deflector, and includes a convenient plunge lock right next to the handle. It also features a six-position stop turret with a 2-1/2-inch plunge range. Best of all, the router offers all the durability and smooth, reliable performance of the original 690 model, with a little more horsepower and a new take on the depth adjustment that prevents the motor from accidentally falling out of the base. If you're looking for bells and whistles, shop up the line a little more, but if you're looking for a solid workhorse with great accuracy and reliability along with the plunge option, this is a great deal. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Very nice router package
I purchased this kit earlier this year and have used it to build several projects, mostly lawn furniture and the like. It's a very high-quality kit, easy to use and understand. I've gotten consistent results, depth is easy to fix, and stays put. The edge guide is real time saver too.

My one complaint about routers that convert from fixed to plunge base is that the power switch (located at the top of the router) cannot be accessed without taking a hand off of one of the handles and reaching up. When you do this, your other hand is left trying to hold up a fairly heavy tool (esp after several hundred cuts) while the bit's spinning away. It just doesn't feel safe to me.

1-0 out of 5 stars THIS TOOL HAS A SERIOUS SAFETY FLAW
The Porter-Cable router, while robustly built, has as its primary weakness a collet that does not adequately grip the shafts of bits.I expereienced a recent incident where a properly seated and tightened rabbeting bit came loose and was propelled at a very high velocity. The bit glanced off the router base, struck the workpiece, and ended up being lodged in the ground.Fortunately no one was hurt!Previous to this "incident," the collet would fail to release bits, requiring a great amount of hand force to insert or remove the bits.Yet the same collet will not hold a bit in place during rotation.

Due to this substantial weakness in the design, I cannot give more than a one star rating of this router.Run like hell from this one.A user would be better served spending his/her money on DeWalt or Bosch.Even my cheap $80 Ryobi has never presented any safety issues like the Porter-Cable.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent value for money
I researched all the usual manufacturers with router kits: DeWalt, Makita, Porter-Cable, Bosch. After reading many, many reviews on the available models and their pros and cons, I settled on the Porter Cable 693VSPK, ..., for the following reasons:
    - the free (limited time) precision edge guide.
    - RECENT improvements: soft start and variable speed.
    - quality.
    - availability of accessories.
    - Price.
The biggest drawback about this router is the somewhat "rough" feel of the plunge base. This has been commented on by many others who have used or owned this tool and I was reluctant to buy this router initially for this very reason. The term silky smooth does not really apply to teh plunge action. It is smooth, but by no means silky - at least that is how it feels on demo units at the store. The DeWalt's plunge action is really silky smooth in comparison.
However, I decided to buy the PC router and put up with this small negative in this excellent tool's overall design. Once I got the tool home, I decided to look into why this plunge action felt "rough"... the answer is quite simple: the internal spring rubs against the screw threads on the internal guide rod that supports the travel limiting nuts. Here is what I did:
    - remove the "stop nut"and travel limits nuts. The upper part of the plunge base will come off, exposing the internal springs.
    - Remove the plastic base plate and undo the nut securing the threaded guide rod.
    - gently file smooth the tips of the screw thread on the guide rod (it feels quite sharp, hence the source of the noise).
    - remove all the factory grease and reapply wheel bearing grease all over the threads and the springs.
    - reassemble the plunge base.
    - apply some automobile engine oil to lubricate the plunge base moving parts.
The result: a silky smooth plunge action!

The one other thing I noted about this tool was that some cost cutting is obvious on some parts to keep the price down. Example: black oxide finished steel rods are used instead of polished steel, the fixed base clamp level is stamped steel instead of being a diecast piece (unlike DeWalt).

So far, I have no regrets with this tool purchase. Anyone looking for a fixed / plunge router kit should give the Porter Cable a serious look FIRST, before looking at the others and then ask yourself: is is worth paying $$$ more for other makes? ... Read more

    Editorial Review

For anyone who uses and works with tools enough to require a grinder, this model from Tormek is a well-designed, high-performance option. First and foremost, the Tormek Super Grind is water-cooled, removing one of the major obstacles to grinding: overheating your tool. With the water-cooling system, the wheel is able to turn at a much higher revolution, allowing for more-accurate, cleaner results. With its excellent bracket and clamp system, the Tormek works well with varying kinds and sizes of blades, but keep in mind that it will need additional accessory brackets for some tools. The grinder comes with an aluminum oxide grindstone and a leather honing wheel, and both connect to the motor at the same time so you won't have to switch wheels on the machine. The unit uses a 115-volt motor and reaches up to 90 rpm, which is plenty of power for most uses. In fact, we were impressed with the overall burliness of the tool--it's definitely intended for heavy-duty use. Only the on/off button was a little unwieldy, but it's well protected and should hold up. This Tormek is certainly a great machine for sharpening and finely honing gardening tools, woodworking tools, and more. An instruction video and book are included. --Jonathon Tudor ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Well worth the cost
This truly is a case of the machine being worth every penny. I have the Tormek and complete accessory kit and have to say the reduction in frustration and time savings alone, pays for this machine. I have used waterstones for years and have always had good results, like anything, the more time you put into it the better you get and the better the results.
Straight out of the box I was sharpening things within 15 minutes and getting the same or better results I was getting with the waterstones. The learning curve on this tool is nil. I scanned the manual to make sure I wouldn't screw something up by using it straight out of the box and most of the jigs and the process itself is very straight forward and easy to figure out.
I actually look forward to sharpening things now. I know it will be razor sharp and I won't have to spend a lot of time getting that edge.
Go for the complete accessory kit if you can, it will save you money in the long run. Once you start using it you'll see what I mean.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best
This tool is everything it claims to be.Best dedicated sharpening tool on the market, bar none.Don't hesitate because of the price, it's worth every penny.

5-0 out of 5 stars Yes, it is good.
I resisted for years, always using water stones to sparpen my chisels. I still think the price is way too high for the Tormek, but now that I own it I consider it a must have. Too bad all the accessories are overpriced too, but Torkek does have great products. It is easy to get a great edge on anything with this tool with the proper accessory. When I think of all that time I spent sharpening chisels on my waterstones......... Suddenly the price doesn't look so bad. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

Senco air-powered tools are famous for their durability and features, and this finish stapler is no exception. The PowerPlus SLS20 is incredibly powerful yet surprisingly lightweight; combining an ergonomic design and a soft grip, it's also exceptionally easy to handle. Its magazine has the capacity to hold 168 18-gauge, 3/8- to 1-1/2-inch staples. We appreciate the adjustable depth-of-drive control that allows for precise countersinking, an especially important feature for furniture assembly. This stapler is also excellent for working on molding, trim, underlayment, soffits, and crafts. Safety is a chief concern with pneumatic staplers, and Senco pneumatic products include impressive safety features. A no-mar safety and restrictive trigger reduce the chances of accidental firings. The bottom-load magazine has a smart design, including a molded lever that keeps the magazine from accidentally opening. There's also a clear sight hole so you can check on the staple supply. Of course, only a well-maintained tool is a safe tool, and Senco designed the PowerPlus SLS20 with this in mind: this stapler never needs lubrication and has only one moving seal, resulting in virtually trouble-free operation. --Tom Kasperson ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Bit of a disappointment
I own a Senco FP25XP brad nailer and have been extremely satisfied with it - so when I decided to purchase a narrow crown stapler, I chose Senco again. My two options were the SLS20 (this one) or the SKS-L.The SLS20 was less expensive and reviewers here gave it good ratings so I ordered the SLS20.

When I received it, however, I was a bit disappointed. The cushion grip is not moulded like on the FP25, but is a piece of foam rubber wrapped around the handle and glued. And because of the way it's wrapped, it's unconfortable in your hand.Probably won't take very long before it begins to come unglued and looks all ratty.

The second disappointment was that the unit will not drive one inch staples into maple - it leaves the head proud by about 1/16.I checked the pressure on my compressor and it's in spec. The unit will drive 3/4 inch staples into maple.

The third disappointment was that the unit did not come with a case, even though Amazon advertises it as shipping with a case.

The fourth disappointment was when I found the SLS20 at a much lower price at a major home improvement store.

Overall, I'd recommend buying the SKS-L, or if you can tolerate the reduced power, go with a lower priced Senco stapler.

I returned the SLS20 and ordered the SKS-L.While the SKS-L has its own problems, it does have the power that the SLS20 is lacking.

Here's a handy little nailer at a great price. Palm nailers have their fans, and if you're one of them, you'll like this model. Its 2.5 pounds are well-balanced and made even easier to handle because of the soft rubber palm pad and nice leather grip. One downside of palm nailers is the need to feed each nail individually, but the A20 features a magnetic nail guide that speeds up your driving. It's ideal for joust hangers, metal straps, and pole barn assembly. The home do-it-yourselfer will like it because it eliminates the dimpling that always goes along with hand nailing. 5-0 out of 5 stars When a hammer won't do.
The Senco palm nailer provides the ideal solution in situations where a regular old hammer comes up short.I first purchased this nailer when a remodeling project required 8d nails be driven under an existing roof line that provided less than 7 inches of vertical clearance.Clearly not a hammer job.I've driven 8d - 16d nails with roughly equal success, although the smaller nails will occassionally bend if the drive angle is not consistantly maintained. If you can't tolorate an occassional bent nail, I've found using stick nails (purchased for my Porter Cable F350 nail gun) solves the problem.Although I originally pruchased the palm nailer for use in difficult-to-reach locations, I've grown to using it more in situations where convential tools would also work. It's light-weight (unlike conventional nail guns), drives a 16d nail in less than 2 seconds, and, at the end of a remodeling day, doesn't send me home with a sore wrist and arm.All in all, a very good investment.

This isa poor substitute, for the A9, definitely not up to Senco's reputation. This appears to be a budget model. I use this tool weekly, I drive alot of 12d and 16d casing nails, they get jambed in the head, this never happend with the A9. Is probably fine for framing nails, hanger nails etc.I wish

5-0 out of 5 stars Great nail gun.
This was my first framing nail gun, and a good one. It feels a little heavy but not that bad. I have never had a problem with it. The gun is powerful and a little loud.It will easily sink nails.Have not had any jams so far. It's very easy and fast to load. I'm very pleased with the gun.Wish it came with a case.

5-0 out of 5 stars Solid performer
I just finished my first day with this wonderful framing nailer. It easily doubled my output, erecting a self-designed shed about a third of the way in less than four hours.(Ten years ago I did all the work with a hammer. That was insane.)The price on Amazon, together with free shipping & no tax, made it a killer deal.Plus, my Paslode made it into my hot little hands in about seven days.

Others wrote excellent technical reviews and said nice things, so I won't repeat those here.I did discover the depth-of-drive adjustment works for fine tuning, but found you can alter this dramatically by running 100 psi (the upper end of the range), instead of around 80 psi (the lower end).Remember this when driving into 6-by's or larger with 3 and a half inch nails. Most experienced construction guys probably know this, but a neophyte like me found out by trial-and-error.They do not give you this hint in the literature.

Anyhow, awesome tool that I'm sure my wife will find me numerous projects to use it on.Buy with confidence.

5-0 out of 5 stars Bought one used
I picked up a gently used F350S at the framing contractor supply store (not a pawn shop). I still have my NR83A Hitachi as well.
The depth setting does take a few test shots to ensure that the nailheads are seated appropriately, though I could probably scratch a mark on the safety to indicate the flush setting.
The newer models of this nailer come with a small rafter hanger included. Mine did not have this feature and I am more accustomed to the L-bracket of aluminum that hangs on the air nipple at the back of the nailer.

Porter Cable’s redesigned angle nailer fires standard 15-gauge angled finish nails and brings along a list of improved features and benefits. For starters, Porter-Cable upped the nail capacity, taking nails from 1 inch to 2-1/2 inches. The streamlined body balances the ample magazine in the center of the handle rather than off to one side, offering better balance than most of its competitors. Another nice redo: the angled coupler minimizes interference with the air hose during reloading. The tool’s weight is down, too, from 6 pounds down to 4.2 pounds, thanks in part to a new Teflon cylinder and a high-impact plastic magazine. The magazine loads from the rear with a by-pass pusher you can reach from either side of the tool. A non-marring rubber nose tip (with on-tool storage) will protect your workpiece. This nailer comes with a restrictive trigger, but a bottom-actuated trigger kit is available from Porter Cable.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars great nailer
I can't think of a single thing that I would change about this gun.It loads easily, it is well balanced and not too heavy, the drive depth is easy to adjust, and it has never jammed even though I drive mostly 2-2.5 inch nails.I also have a 2 inch brad nailer and that may be sufficient for most people who are only going to nail molding. But for applications that require a 2.5 inch long nail or more structural support, this nail gun is perfect.I bought mine reconditioned for about a 20 percent savings and it has worked flawlessly and looked brand new.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good Tool
My company owns 3 of these and they really do have a strong shot. We had no problems with getting the nails to set in the toughest materials. Our problems came after 8 mos of use. One of the units began having frequent jams and then started misfiring on a consistent basis. I'm a little concerned because another one of our DA250B nailers has also become somewhat unpredictable and sometimes jams. I definitely recommend the DA250B over the Senco SFN 35 or any Bostich nailers. The Senco SFN 30 and 40 are OK units. My top pick however is the Dewalt Angled Finish Nailer D51275K. All of our crews like this nailer over any of the finish nailers we've used. (Bostich, Porter Cable DA250B, Senco SFN 35, 40, 30). I will say that for the infrequent user either The Porter Cable DA250B or Dewalt D51275K will perform nicely.
Note: We use these finish nailers primarily in oak but sometimes in wood species such as Brazilian Cherry, Mahogany, Rosewood, Maple and other exotic wood types.

2-0 out of 5 stars Good tool, but I would not recommend it for pro use.
I'm a contractor and I use this Porter Cable Brad Nailer for kitchen cabinet remodeling and refacing 4-5 days a week all year around. This is my first Porter Cable Nailer and probably the last one (I had many different brands in a past and I still have one Craftsman nailer). After just a half of a year of use this Porter Cable Nailer started to fail when I used 5/8" brad nails. It misfires and jams the nails. I've tried to find why and found that inside nail slides are a little bit wider than they must be and 5/8" nails move up during the use of Nailer and this causes the problem. I've tried many different brands of 5/8" nails, but result still the same. It still works OK with other tipe of nails. Poor design!!! Will buy Makita....

5-0 out of 5 stars Super tool, reliable, and does a fine job
I bought the BN125A at the same time that I bought the 16 gauge. At the time I saw the price on the 18 and figured, it was a good idea to have both. At a later date, I discovered the BN200A, and that was an 18 gauge brad nailer as well, and accepted the 3/4" to 2" size nails. The BN125A accepts 5/8" to 1 1/4". For only a few dollars more, I thought I should have gotten the 200A. After all, when was I going to need a 5/8" size brad instead of a 3/4" one. Then I read a great book on cabinet making, and the author stated that he saves a lot of time, and doesn't need a million clamps, by putting a 5/8" brad in the back side of the raised panel joint between the rail and stile, then frees up his clamps for the next one. The glue sets up without movement because of the twin 5/8" brad holding them together. Most raised panels are made from 3/4" stock, so a 3/4" brad would show on the face. The brad goes in with a little countersink, so it is too large for that purpose. I guess it is a good example of, instead of saying yeah this, and boo that, say, "I like them both" Now I am starting to wonder when I will ever need an 18 gauge brad that is 2" long. Sure enough I will come across a need at some point. Maybe when I can, I will pick up one of those too.
The tool is lightweight, feels good in your hands, and is well built. Definitely does what it is supposed to do, and does it well.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Tool
Once again a PC tool that works as advertised.Easy to use right out of the box.I was using it in seconds.I would have
given it five(5) stars except the Instruction Manual has some misprints. You wont need it anyway. Be sure to call them to get the "free" bottom fire trigger.I'm not sure why they dont include it in the first place.(maybe some legal/safety reasons?) ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Your Own Shredder!
Very sharp and long living blade!
    Cut woods, trees and heads(animals)!

5-0 out of 5 stars There's a reason that this blade averages 5 stars
There's nothing out there like this blade.Don't get me wrong, Freud, Old Ham, etc., make good blades, it's just that this one is exceptional.I've also bought their chopsaw blade and just like the WoodWorker II, it's fantastic!Worth every penny.

5-0 out of 5 stars Forrest saw blades
I have several Forrest blade products, including the Woodworker I and II, (10 inch) and the 12" chopmaster, along with their Dado set (8 inch), and their blade dampener. The blades ALL are the best I have ever owned, and have replaced such blades as the Freud 40 tooth combination and Freud 80 tooth Teflon coated blade I used to use for super smooth cuts. The Woodworker blades in the table saw and the radial arm saw both give cuts as good as the best Freud blades while being easier to use. The table saw blade allows for a faster feed rate with less burning, and the Radial arm saw blade is safer to use because it does not try to grab and walk through the wood. The 12 inch blade on my Dewalt sliding compound miter saw is a dream. I can cut slivers off of oak that you can almost read through and are glass smooth, and the saw is completely controllable. The quality of cut, longevity of the cutting edge (haven't sharpened any of the blades in 15 years of light to moderate use) and ease of machining make these blades well worth much more than they cost. The Dado head, while expensive, is unequalled for cutting absolutely smooth flat-bottomed dadoes and rabbets (adjustable wobble dados are quick and cheap, but the results are not nearly good enough for fine furniture work.) ... 2-0 out of 5 stars featherboards out-perform buddies
I recently bought the board buddies and will return them. They do not pull the board into the fence as described by other people without tremendous down pressure being applied, resulting in having to stand directly behind the board to push it through, which we all know is dangerous. The anti reverse wheels actually do reverse (turning on the threads and not their own spindle) and I wouldn't trust them to stop kickback. Adjustment is a pain in the neck, I'm constantly catching my nuckles when adjusting the wingnuts: frustrating!
However they do work very well for holding the board down vertically if used in conjunction with a traditional featherboard.
These are gadgets that simply don't perform anywhere near as well as traditional featherboards.

5-0 out of 5 stars Serves a much needed function ideally
I had the experience of cutting a piece of stock, and it got trapped between the fence and the blade. It wouldn't matter except that the wood lifted slightly, and that caused an off angle into the blade. Consequently it binded, and sent a piece of wood flying into my stomach at about 50 mph. Okay maybe it was 40, but the speed was irrelevant. What did matter is that it was painful, and forceful enough to leave a welt and scraped the skin. If it wasn't a square ended board, but rather a sharp pointed one, it would be of even greater concern.
After that experience, I broke out the hold down that originally came with the saw. Since it is a circa 1950's Sears, the hold down wasn't in the best of shape. It was the kind that sits at the back of the table. I didn't like the arm sticking up, and having to pass through the thin slit of the freshly cut wood. What if I was using a thin kerf blade? I decided instead to take the advice of a professional, and concentrate on not letting the back side of the piece of wood lift up on the fence. With a push stick that has a long tail I was able to do that. I recognize that this is just one more angle priority I have to remember when pushing stock through. Then I got the board buddies.
At first I hesitated because Incra who makes my TSIII-32 table saw fence said that board buddies are not compatible with the Incra fence. Knowing the engineering principles involved with the board buddies, and Amazon's generous return policy, I decided to go ahead and order them. I'm glad I did.
The reason why Incra stated that the fence did not work was because the center plate that mounts the adjusting arm to the fence, sat above the upper surface of the fence. That is easily solved by using a 1/4" shim made of wood, or Masonite etc and simply kerfing out the section where the adjusting arm center plate edge sits proud. That makes a completely flat surface area all across the top of the fence for the board buddy to sit on. I also ordered the Woodstock mounting bracket-plate made for these board buddies. That enables me to be able to remove and reinstall the board buddies with the least amount of effort.
The universal advantages of the board buddies, is that they are built a lot more substantially than the pictures show. They are large. That is great because they can handle the type of rigor required for a 4x8 sheet of 3/4" plywood.
I couldn't figure out how they mounted from the pictures, but they attach across the top of your fence. The yellow plastic-rubber like bumpers extend out and press down on your work and are adjustable thanks to the spring loaded tensioner. So you can fine tune them for different size stock thicknesses.
Another nice feature is that the cylindrical drums roll in only one direction. That allows you to freely feed the work in, but if the work piece wants to start to back up it instantly stops it. That back roll is nipped in the bud, and that is the movement, that leads to the binding that I was telling you about. Combined with the hold down effect, that stops it altogether. So it actually performs a double protection effort.
In terms of creating perfect cuts, the board buddies help to maintain an even surface angle. Beneficial when your shooting for smooth finish grade cuts.
One more thing to note is that these mount freely anywhere along the top surface of your fence. The best position is one immediately before your blade, and the other immediately after it. For some reason I was imagining that they projected directly over the blade, and therefore were only good for stock that was wide enough to meet with the buddy. NOT. By placing them in front and behind the blade, you can adjust them for anything from small to large stock.
If I had to be critical of the buddies, I would be concerned for certain fence types that can not accept the challenge of the buddies creating lift on the fence. With the buddies set to press down on the work piece, when it enters the buddy it will press them up, and that creates a lifting.A less than substantial fence with a tie down only on the side, closest to you, may create a lifting concern. If your fence, when fastened holds on the rear and front, then the lift is of no concern. If your fence only holds down on one end, an easy way to determine the buddies usability is to simply fasten it, then use something to pry on it to test the level of resistance. The buddies are spring loaded and adjustable. To get the maximum usability without more frequent adjusting, a front and rear hold down fence is preferred.
Overall I highly recommend the buddies. They add to the safety and precision of making table saw cuts, and could be used on router tables with a compatible fence. The heavy castings, and industrial grade rubber should give you years of use.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best product for the price.
I just added these to my 10" Jet cabinet saw.I had areal problem trying to rip plywood sheets while keeping them aligned to the fence. Even with a buddy helping me we would tend to get some wander in the ends of the cuts while cross cutting.
After installing the board buddies I cut some 4' x 8' oak plywood sheets by myself and got prefectlystraight cuts. I used them for both 3/4" and 1/4".They did work better on the 3/4" than the 14" as the 1/4" 4/8 tends to flex all over. The board buddies held the sheets down tight and snug against the fence. I now rip to size instead of slightly oversize and only make one pass.
Although I put a rail on top of my Exacta fence to install these, I don't picture ever removing them and could have just bolted them directly to the fence.
I haven't tried them, yet, on my router table as I have a Panel-Loc there.I think these would great for rails and stiles which the Panel-Loc won't handle well. I'll edit this review in the future and let you know how they worked. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars At first I fell in love with these
When I saw the ad with a bifocal, I thought that would solve all of the problems, and it does. I was continually popping reading glasses on and off when I had to make a setting, and then putting on regular protective eyewear for everything else, what a nuisance. These bifocals allow you to enjoy the protection while looking through clear glass. When you need to see something with some correction, the bottom of the lense has a 1.5 magnification.
I gave it four stars because the plastic lense is not secured very well to the frame. It is a snap in hold, and it frequently snaps out. Then I have to reassemble the glasses. I am tempted to get out the epoxy and make the assembly permanent. If I had to do it all over again, I would still buy these. The convenience of a bifocal outweighs the epoxy correctable assembly problem. So overall I highly recommend them.

5-0 out of 5 stars I Love These Safety Glasses
I bought these safety glasses because I am paranoid about injuries while woodworking. These glasses are comfortable and they fit over my prescription glasses. I don't wear bifocals but thought that they would be useful for reading prints and measurements and I was not disappointed. At age 45 my eye doctor told me that +1.5 would be fine. (He also said that most people's eye sight degrade linearly and a good rule of thumb would be would be a 0.5 factor increase every 5 years. In other words I will probably be a bifocal of 2.0 at age 50 and 2.5 at age 55 etc.)

3-0 out of 5 stars get the correct power
Dont get the same power as you would if you were buying reading glasses. The strenght for reading glasses should be stronger than the shop glasses. This is because you hold your material closer if you are reading than if you are working out in the shop.Think about it most of the time when you are out in the shop you are working at distances of 20-36 inches and when reading your working distance is about 16 inches.Take my advise I am an optometrist. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Amazon.com dipslays horrible customer service - again
I can't offer a review on the tool, but I feel that I should give anyone considering purchasing this item a "head's up" on what I have experienced.Bottom line up front: order it from Tool Crib's phone order catalogue. You will get it for the same price, but you will deal with people who have a clue about what they sell.I ordered this fence system nearly a month ago, and to the best of my knowledge, it ships in three packages: one for the Ultra Jig, one for the center mount and fence, and one for the fence rails. So far, after five e-mails to Amazon'z virtually non-responsive customer service department and two phone calls (incidentally, the Amazon customer service number is 800-201-7575 - although they do their best to hide that from you)I have recieved two shipments of the center mount and fence package and one of the Ultra Jig.I have not received the fence rails. However, Amazon insists that it sent me three separate shipments of the entire product in response to my complaints - SO THEY ARE NOW EXPECTING ME TO RETURN TWO COMPLETE PRODUCTS WHEN I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE ONE IN ITS ENTIRETY!

Calls and e-mails to Amazon are fruitless - I can't seem to get them to understand that the product comes in three separate and distinct boxes, let alone actually ship the three boxes. My last call came yielded an admission from the rep that he had no idea what I was talking about and he'd "be lucky to know a hammer from a screwdriver".Tool Crib can't help me because I placed the order on-line; on-line orders are handled by Amazon. Thus, my suggestion: place the order over the phone with Tool Crib, that way, the people who handle your order will know what they are talking about.Otherwise you could be like me: owing Amazon lots of money as a result of their incompetence and ignorance for an order you never received.

I will update my review with my opinion on the fence if and when this situation is resolved.

1-0 out of 5 stars THIEVES: Make sure this is what you really want......
I purchased this on April 11th.About 30 minutes later I needed to cancel the order.I found a cheaper price locally. They indicated i could not cancel the order but I could refuse shipment, and they would credit my card. That was almost 2 months ago. They have not credited my card and refuse to give me a phone number where I can speak with a CSR.No more Amazon for me.....To bad I likedthis place.Sometimes principal can be a pain.

4-0 out of 5 stars Yeah, it's pretty nice
Anyone researching this fence has probably already read numerous positive reviews and user comments about this system about Incra in general.
I've found them to be largely true, but the system has some issues, too:
Yep, it DOES take up a lot of precious floor-space.This is especially compounded by moving the rails further to the right to extend rip capacity.
My fence is not flat.I read a ~.020" bow (proud in the center behind the carriage) with my dial caliper over the length of the fence.I expect I could grind this down, or shim out via a sub-fence.
The rails are LONG, and supporting them, while not required, seems prudent. This is especially true if you're dropping a router in an extension wing.
The "hairline" cursor on my positioner is not a hairline - it's tough reading that little scale, too - I think I could easily lock down 1/32" off and not realize it (this could be my vision, though).
I noticed that clamping the positioner in seems to move the fence a little. Not a big deal but it makes initial set-up a little hit-or-miss.
This is a modular product, so the terminology gets confusing. You're looking at a TSIII fence "system" - it includes the Ultra positioner, rails, a mounting plate, fence, and carriage. To Incra's credit, these items are all offered seperately, but this makes it a little more confusing. Some of these parts are identical to the router-table based systems (the positioner, the carriage, e.g.).It seems a little redundant to buy a TS AND a RT system since they share these components.
The knob to clamp down the front of the fence seems a little cheesy, and the back of the fence is clamped down with a (supplied) Allen wrench driver.Just seems odd compared to conventional systems.

Obviously these are picky little issues - it's a clever design, it's very modular (adding extension tables/ accesories is a breeze), manuals and packaging are the best I've seen, it can serve double-duty as a RT fence, etc. With many more words I could convey:the system is really flexible and will allow you to come up with a configuration that will suit your work needs/style.

I'm saying nothing about accuracy here because I think that's been covered well elsewhere.

The fence seems to remain square to the slots / blade, but it just feels unlikely that this is true when you use it.The center mount, friction from dragging hold downs, and general "flimsyness" of the system (in it's unlocked state - when locked, it's very secure) make me feel like the fence is skewing all over the place.

I know this is mixed bag for a review but when I was researching, I could find nothing other than "perfect"... ... Read more
