Turbo Average Customer Review: Audio CD (25 October, 1990) list price: $11.98 US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France Reviews (44)
Back in 1976, on their second studio album Sad Wings Of Destiny, Judas Priest shelled out a rock tune entitled Victim Of Changes. And in the eyes of fans, that's what Judas Priest became in 1986. With the release of their tenth studio album Turbo, the band went for a synthesizer-heavy glam metal sound. They even swapped their usual outfits for the typical "cross-dresser" styled stuff that most American glam bands wore. Was this album the death of Judas Priest, or was it actually a new beginning for the band? Read on for my review of Turbo, Judas Priest's tenth studio album. Let me start the review by saying I'm tired of hearing so many negative things about this album. It seems fans of the band's can't accept a little bit of change between two of the band's albums. IT'S CALLED TRYING SOMETHING NEW, PEOPLE! True, it's NOT the band you know and love, but that doesn't mean this is a bad album by ANY means! Just make sure you listen with an OPEN MIND. The album kicks off with the heavy yet melodic rocker, Turbo Lover. This track was a good way to start off the album, because it's a general premonition of the other songs on the album - rather than ultra-heavy epic rockers, the songs on here are generally shorter-length radio-friendly glam-styled rockers. Track two, Locked In, is the closest thing on the album to the classic Priest sound that most fans missed so dearly on this album. Halford's classic high voice pitch really must be heard to be appreciated. Private Property is one of those heavy yet melodic tunes that so many bands were trying to accomplish in the eighties - but the Judas Priest take on this style puts that of most other bands to shame. The power ballad, Out In The Cold, was one of the band's most underrated songs of all time. You've gotta love the sound that the band pulled off in this song - it's nothing short of excellent, solid proof that these guys can successfully create music of any style. The new remastered version of the album features two bonus tracks - a rare studio session and a rare live version of one of the original album's tracks. These tracks don't hold a candle to the material that actually made it on to the album, but they are still a nice bonus nonetheless, and they make buying the remaster more worthwhile than buying the original compact disc pressing. However, if you already bought the original CD pressing, it's not worth buying the album again for these tracks - they aren't THAT special. With this album, Judas Priest proved that they weren't going to stop rocking. It's really no surprise that many of the band's fans call this their favorite album. If you're a fan of the band, or maybe you're just a fan of classic eighties metal, this is an album I strongly recommend purchasing. Just make sure you get the remastered version so that you get the bonus tracks! ... Read more Asin: B000002657 |

Gardena 36850-6 Turbo Drive Sprinkler on Sled Average Customer Review: Tools & Hardware list price: $20.95 -- our price: $19.99 (price subject to change: see help) US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France Editorial Review This plastic, silent-operation sprinkler is good for morning watering of medium-to-large lawns and gardens. It can water anywhere from a 20- to 80-foot-diameter area (up to 5,000 square feet) with its two-stage watering system, which consecutively waters short and longer ranges, with circle coverage adjustable from 20 to the full 360 degrees of arc. This sprinkler can also be connected to others in a series for irrigating larger areas, and it performs well even at water pressures as low as 14 psi. ... Read more Features Reviews (2)
These Gardena sprinklers have held up better than any I've owned. They survive the heat. They survive the cold.I have left mine outside year round and they have not fallen apart like so many other brands of sprinklers I've owned. I especially like the gear driven mechanism. It performs smoothly, does not stall under windy conditions and is very easy to adjust.I owned another brand that broke immediately when I accidently turned the adjustment knobs the wrong way.Unlike a pulsing sprinkler, the smooth stream of water is less likely to dissipate in windy conditions.Another great feature is the sprinkler will operate under lower water pressure conditions which makes it easy to water small areas. The only thing I've found that has ended the life of my sprinklers is the lawn care folks leave them on the driveway. They do not hold up to be driven over. But I'm buying more and alerting the lawn care people they'll be buying replacements if it happens again! ... Kensington K64210 Turbo Mouse Trackball (Mac) Average Customer Review: Electronics list price: $93.99 -- our price: $93.99 (price subject to change: see help) US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France Features Reviews (4)
I was so used to my mouse, I felt like I had just gotten my hand for Christmas and didn't know how to use it. After just one day of using it, however, I was hooked. When my Mac was repaired, I stayed at my co-worker's desk until he came back from vacation, just so I could use his trackball and I asked my boss to order one for me as well. No more mousepads, no more picking up and moving a mouse when you run out of cord and/or desk-space, and a trackball carefully designed to fit a normal adult human hand with ease. The trackball is easy to clean and there is never any skipping on the rollers - the friction of the ball against the metal rollers is superb. The buttons are angled at such a way, they are almost a pleasure to click. I have never had wrist discomfort using this model. The MouseWorks software that comes with the trackball allows you to program the 4 buttons to do different functions and you can even program "chords"... that is the action that happens when you click 2 buttons at once. It is truly a shame that Kensington did not port this same exact model to USB for modern users and instead fell in love with the shiny colored plastic with poor traction on the rollers. You can acquire an ADB to USB adapter that will allow you to use this on newer Macs or even PCs. The Kensington Mouseworks software is available for older Macs and newer Macs, as well as PCs. If you have an old beige Mac you're using as a fax server or for another task, this model trackball is a joy to use. For those using a newer Mac without an ADB port, you will have to buy a separate adapter to use this mouse with your computer.

Thisfast action game captures the feeling of playing with Hot Wheels carsand the most deluxe track set ever imagined. While retaining someelements of a video game racer, Hot Wheels manages to shun thecurrent trend toward real-world physics and instead focuses on wildairborne stunts and wondrously loopy track design. Like most racing games, the idea is to finish first. However, to winyou must pull off some acrobatic maneuvers such as barrel rolls andsomersaults to gain turbo boost rewards and blast past your opponents.Keeping a third-person viewpoint and simplistic controls, Hot WheelsTurbo Racing provides just the right touch to re-create theexperience of zooming your own Hot Wheels cars around the living room. The addition of moody, thematic track backgrounds and scorching soundand visual effects transforms every toy-playing kid's fantasy worldinto a digital reality. --Jeff Young Pros:

Fein 9-55-13Turbo II Dust-Free Vacuum Average Customer Review: Tools & Hardware list price: $325.00 -- our price: $299.99 (price subject to change: see help) US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France Editorial Review Looking right out of the Jetsons' household, Fein's Turbo II vacuum is one the most effective on the market. With features like automatic start and dust-sealed switches, it's specifically designed to work with shaping, routing, or sanding tools, which create a lot of dust. It's also as quiet as any shop vacuum we've heard, making it easier to use in close proximity to a project, or in an enclosed space, and its internal fabric boot helps keep dust to a minimum. The Turbo II has a 7.3-gallon solid capacity, a 6.8-gallon liquid capacity, and a 1,300-watt, 9-1/2 amp, two-stage motor. Its size and sturdy rollers make it very portable and easy to dump after being filled. Unlike some larger models, you'll still be able to lift and empty this vacuum by yourself. The body is solid plastic and will hold up well to wear. The shape of the vacuum makes it easy to move around a job site--there aren't any big handles or attachments sticking out (other then the hose) to get snagged when wheeling the vacuum around. Fein's Turbo II is--hands down--a very high-quality, very low-noise vacuum, well worth the investment for carpenters, woodworkers, and craftspeople. --Jonathon Tudor ... Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie Director: Shuki Levy, David Winning Average Customer Review: VHS Tape (03 September, 2002) list price: $6.98 -- our price: $6.28 (price subject to change: see help) US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France Editorial Review If you're five to eight years old, get with some of your buddies, eat two bowls of Fruity Pebbles, scarf three packets of Pop Rocks, and snap your synapses into Power-Ranger Elysium with Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie. If you're a parent and you don't know a Zord from a Zordon, get ready for one and a half hours (yep, one and a half hours) of enough mass marketing and mindless mayhem to destroy any resistance to the overt "buy this toy" messages contained therein. The evil Divatox, a busty space "piratess," kidnaps two former Power Rangers and it's up to the new Rangers to save their friends from becoming human sacrifices to an evil monster. The Rangers' leader, Zordon (who thinks up these names?), gives the new crew added "turbo" powers and presents them with their new Zords--turbo-powered cars. What's never explained is why there are former Power Rangers: do they get drummed out for not morphing (or morphing too much), or do the Rangers maintain the same policy as the once-famous Latino pop band, Menudo (replacing members once they get too old). There's an inordinate amount of the fake kung-fu kicking that made the TV show popular, and the villains are grotesque; but they're just shrieking punching bags. But the thought that Turbo is basically "the next generation" of Power Rangers is enough send chills up any parent's back. That's why kids love them so. --Keith Simanton ... BonJour 7025-42 Caffe Froth Turbo, Black Average Customer Review: Kitchen list price: $14.99 -- our price: $7.99 (price subject to change: see help) US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France Editorial Review At 28,000 rotations per minute, this simple tool makes easy work of frothing milk for your morning cappuccino. Just put milk in a mug or microwave-safe pitcher, submerge the blade, and whirl for a few seconds. Then heat the milk in a microwave before pouring it over espresso or brewed coffee. (Or, if you're in a microwave-free home, heat and froth the milk in a small saucepan on the stove.) You can also whip cream to top a mocha or to use in desserts, or whip egg whites, though it is important to stick with small jobs. The tool is powerful for its size, but you'll still need a blender for those smoothies. --Cynthia Nims ... Read more Features Reviews (1)
