3-0 out of 5 stars better than RAM IT DOWN!!!!
TURBO got a bad rap, because they used synthicized guitars and went toward the glam metal crowd.I was 15 when this album came out, already a Priest fanatic, my first reaction was "kinda sounds like ZZ top" ...At 15,I was a little more open-minded and optimistic to new music....it's later when I became a critic........Overall this isn't that bad, somewhat juvenile lyrically, but preety catchy. .....If Priest kept the same look from DEFENDERS OF THE FAITH, minused the synths and still had the same songs on TURBO.....TURBO would have been well received. "Parental Guidance" I liked when I was 15 butlooking back lyrically it's a little embarrasing. ........Many hardcore Judas Priest fans hated Turbo and the boys from Priest tried to rectify it with RAM IT DOWN, which I think was terrible. RAM IT DOWN had two good songs on it "Ram it Down" and "Heavy Metal" "Come and Get It" is OK...the rest stink!! ....TURBO has quite a few good songs on it such as "Turbo Lover" "Reckless" "Private Property" "Out in the Cold". ..............TURBOis no SIN AFTER SIN, STAINED CLASS, or SAD WINGS OF DESTINY.....but it isn't all bad and it is FAR BETTER to the so called 'back to the roots' RAM IT DOWN...........As far as 'selling out' goes...technically they 'sold out' with BRITISH STEEL in 1980 with MTV coming out the following year...They were always respected by MTV. Plus they were on Columbia/CBS Records for years, you think CBS didn't pressure Judas Priest over the years!!Rob Halford even said they wanted to be 'visual' with thier music from the beginning and liked the idea of videos.KEEP THE FAITH

3-0 out of 5 stars "Without warning, something's dawning, listen"
Turbo was the album that caused a lot of long-time Judas Priest fans to scream for vengeance (or, at least, not buy the album). With all the hair taking over the moneymaking side of metal in the mid-1980s, Priest decided to try to cash in with a more commercial and synthesizer-driven sound. Turbo does not sound like Poison, but it is more radio friendly than Defenders of the Faith with its often harsh and brutal lyrics. Most fans did not like Turbo because it did not sound enough like Judas Priest. I remember reading a letter in a rock magazine where a fan admitted to crying when he first heard the album. Well, it's not that bad. In fact, some of the tracks here are excellent and one is incredible. "Turbo Lover" is a very cool track. The synthesizers make it sound like a futuristic motorcycle cruising down the highway and the guitar solo is awesome. "Locked In" is very commercial but darn catchy which was accompanied by Priest's most creative music video. "Reckless" is another catchy track that does not become a syrupy commercial song like some of the tracks here. "Hot For Love" is also pretty good but the chorus seems disjointed. The guitar break demonstrates how bands like Iron Maiden were influenced by these metal statesmen. The best track, by far, though, is "Out in the Cold." It is an amazing, powerful ballad and one of my all-time favorite Priest songs. It is worth the price of the album alone! In my opinion, Turbo's main flaw is that it didn't go further in its experimentation. It becomes very commercial with tracks like "Parental Guidance" (an obvious knock on the PMRC who criticized the track "Eat Me Alive" off their previous album), "Private Property," and "Wild Nights, Hot Crazy Days." "Parental Guidance" sounds like a song written by a bunch of teenagers, not by metal veterans well into their 30s. "Rock You All Around the World" is one of those "all hail us" songs that I do not care for. Despite these tracks, Turbo is not the complete bust a lot of fans claim it to be. Turbo was actually planned to be a double album called "Twin Turbos." When that plan was scrapped, many tracks were left off. Some found there way on Ram it Down like the title track, "Hard as Iron," "Monsters of Rock," and "Love You to Death." The first two were virtually complete at the time of Turbo. It is difficult to imagine what a double Twin Turbos album would be like as Ram it Down is so much different than Turbo. It may have helped fans accept the synthesizers if half the album gave them the more typical Priest sound. It probably should not be the first Judas Priest album you buy, but it is not as bad as many make it out to be.

4-0 out of 5 stars 4.5 stars - One of their most unappreciated efforts
Turbo (1986.) Judas Priest's tenth album.

Back in 1976, on their second studio album Sad Wings Of Destiny, Judas Priest shelled out a rock tune entitled Victim Of Changes. And in the eyes of fans, that's what Judas Priest became in 1986. With the release of their tenth studio album Turbo, the band went for a synthesizer-heavy glam metal sound. They even swapped their usual outfits for the typical "cross-dresser" styled stuff that most American glam bands wore. Was this album the death of Judas Priest, or was it actually a new beginning for the band? Read on for my review of Turbo, Judas Priest's tenth studio album.

Let me start the review by saying I'm tired of hearing so many negative things about this album. It seems fans of the band's can't accept a little bit of change between two of the band's albums. IT'S CALLED TRYING SOMETHING NEW, PEOPLE! True, it's NOT the band you know and love, but that doesn't mean this is a bad album by ANY means! Just make sure you listen with an OPEN MIND. The album kicks off with the heavy yet melodic rocker, Turbo Lover. This track was a good way to start off the album, because it's a general premonition of the other songs on the album - rather than ultra-heavy epic rockers, the songs on here are generally shorter-length radio-friendly glam-styled rockers. Track two, Locked In, is the closest thing on the album to the classic Priest sound that most fans missed so dearly on this album. Halford's classic high voice pitch really must be heard to be appreciated. Private Property is one of those heavy yet melodic tunes that so many bands were trying to accomplish in the eighties - but the Judas Priest take on this style puts that of most other bands to shame. The power ballad, Out In The Cold, was one of the band's most underrated songs of all time. You've gotta love the sound that the band pulled off in this song - it's nothing short of excellent, solid proof that these guys can successfully create music of any style.
Wild Nights Hot And Crazy Days features the band using a fast-paced glam metal sound similar to the one Poison would use in their hit, Nothin' But A Good Time. The closer, Reckless, is one of the most memorable rockers to emerge from the album, and it leaves a lasting impression - that is, provided you listened to the album with an open mind, like I said.

The new remastered version of the album features two bonus tracks - a rare studio session and a rare live version of one of the original album's tracks. These tracks don't hold a candle to the material that actually made it on to the album, but they are still a nice bonus nonetheless, and they make buying the remaster more worthwhile than buying the original compact disc pressing. However, if you already bought the original CD pressing, it's not worth buying the album again for these tracks - they aren't THAT special.

With this album, Judas Priest proved that they weren't going to stop rocking. It's really no surprise that many of the band's fans call this their favorite album. If you're a fan of the band, or maybe you're just a fan of classic eighties metal, this is an album I strongly recommend purchasing. Just make sure you get the remastered version so that you get the bonus tracks! ... Read more

    Editorial Review

This plastic, silent-operation sprinkler is good for morning watering of medium-to-large lawns and gardens. It can water anywhere from a 20- to 80-foot-diameter area (up to 5,000 square feet) with its two-stage watering system, which consecutively waters short and longer ranges, with circle coverage adjustable from 20 to the full 360 degrees of arc. This sprinkler can also be connected to others in a series for irrigating larger areas, and it performs well even at water pressures as low as 14 psi. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Choice for Large Lawns
We just bought a new home with a large yard (19,000sq.ft to be exact) and we've tried so many sprinklers that stake into the ground. We hate that. With this one on a sled, it's much more comforting to know it only needs to sit on the lawn, not driven into it.It's also silent compared to other sprinklers.

The area to water is simple to adjust and very user friendly.Because this is our first yard, and 10th sprinkler, I think we will stick to this kind from Gardena.I am buying another one after this review.

4-0 out of 5 stars Best sprinkler I've ever had!
Living in Texas is testament to tough weather conditions.Sprinklers don't hold up well under intense heat and the soil is extremely hard in areas such as mine.

These Gardena sprinklers have held up better than any I've owned. They survive the heat. They survive the cold.I have left mine outside year round and they have not fallen apart like so many other brands of sprinklers I've owned.

I especially like the gear driven mechanism. It performs smoothly, does not stall under windy conditions and is very easy to adjust.I owned another brand that broke immediately when I accidently turned the adjustment knobs the wrong way.Unlike a pulsing sprinkler, the smooth stream of water is less likely to dissipate in windy conditions.Another great feature is the sprinkler will operate under lower water pressure conditions which makes it easy to water small areas.

The only thing I've found that has ended the life of my sprinklers is the lawn care folks leave them on the driveway. They do not hold up to be driven over. But I'm buying more and alerting the lawn care people they'll be buying replacements if it happens again! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This stuff does work!
I have used this product for 12 years (in Europe it's been know that long!), needless to say it really works otherwise I wouldn't do it over and over again. Mind you, this might not really be for everyone since the shake is not chocolate/vanilla/whatever flavored and since most get scared off by the fact that they don't get to eat solid food. The first day you'll have to stay close to a bathroom for about 4-5 hrs, but it benefits your body as a lot of nasty gunk stuck in your intestines will be flushed out (Sat/Sun would be good or any day off). The first time you try this the first 2 days might be tougher because you're so used to sticking stuff in your mouth, but now you don't get to - this is not actual hunger, this is your mind playing the "what you can't get is what you want most" game. This diet is great, because is gives you lasting success in little time, but is different from other "quick-fix" diets as it doesn't eat away on your muscles even though you're dieting. I don't work out other than walking my dog for 45 min. every night, if you follow the plan without cheating (with the exception of the first 2-3 days you this should never leave you hungry) you will loose 13-14 lbs in 2 weeks even without exercise, though exercise benefits your overall well-being at any time. Since this diet will get your metabolism back on track, you won't have to worry about gaining it all back (except for 3-4 lbs of water weight), unless of course you decide to go on a chips & dips, chocolate, ice cream and candy diet afterwards. Speaking of which, all those carb gravings will be diminished after being on the diet for a few days. So, all in all, if you decide to at least try it, stick it through the first 2-3 days of mind-games you will see the pounds going down the drain and be able to keep them off. Good luck!

4-0 out of 5 stars Quick, Fast Results
This diet is absolutely phenomenal. It works exceptionally well, and I saw excellent results with it.All told, I lost 20 pounds with the diet, and the key point here is that I did not gain any of the weight back whatsoever.Even when I went back to my usually .... and very non-low carb diet.I give it 4 stars because I never did make it to the 2 week mark, it was just too hard for me, so I ended up doing this diet for 5 - up to 8 days at a time which is how I lost the sum total of 20 lbs.I must also mention that I am hypoglycemic, meaning my blood sugar drops fairly low, and this diet does cause your blood sugar to drop. This diet is not for the faint of heart and it can be very difficult. But if you are in a pinch, it is a great way to lose some extra pounds in a hurry!

4-0 out of 5 stars The Turbo Protein Diet
I actually read the German version of this book first, which is exactly the same. I actually tried this diet when it first came out in Germany in '99 after I had seen several pple loose quite a bit of weight on it. I stuck to it for 2wks. It was hard not to eat the first day or two, but with the help of the home-made veggie broth I got through it. I never cheated once. The drink is not nasty nor is it very tasty or filling....once again, the veggie broth always saved my day. I drank almost a gallon of water per day. To my disappointment I did not loose more then 10lbs within those two weeks, other than the 30-40lbs I had seen in the other pple, and swore myself, never to go on a liquid fast again if that was the result...my body just works different from others. BUT after I got off it, I was not hungry anymore and I had this urge for fruits and healthy stuff all of a sudden. So I actually started loosing after I got off it and thinking back, must have lost another 15lbs in the weeks following. Unfortunately, I gotta say, that if you don't stick to a healthy/sensible diet, the weight will eventually come back....very slowly, but double. However, after endless trials with stupid weightloss pills and powders, I'm finally as fat as I was as a child and have come to the conclusion....Markert is a good thing. I will start it again next week. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A great product from a great company!
I'm an artist/writer who has used this trackball for years. It took a little while for me to get used to the roller movement, but now I find it far more powerful than any other type of mouse. The ball is heavy, so you can use its momentum to scroll- if you push it quickly the ball will keep rolling. Now a regular mouse seems cumbersome and annoying.

The reason I'm taking the time to write this review now is that for the second time I've found Kensington customer service to be exemplary. My trackball gets used heavily so wear and tear is an issue. I've had problems with this two times in the last five years: one of the rollers inside eventually stopped responding. Both times, I had a three minute, pleaseant phone conversation with Kensington technical support, and both times they immediately sent a brand new device. No hassles.

Many of my other electronic devices have needed warranty service (from different companies), but I have never had such an easy time obtaining service or replacements. Kensington really DOES guarantee their devices for a full five years! For other computer products, I guess I'm now used to getting a one year warranty on devices that quit one day after the warranty expires, and hassles from technical service before that. It's really refreshing to find an electronics company that goes the extra distance to stand by its products - it's paid off with me because I will certainly be a repeat Kensington customer!

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply the best track-ball/mouse ever made!
I used to use a mouse until one day at work my Mac took a nose-dive and I was forced to use a co-worker's Mac while my machine was being repaired. My co-worker was on vacation, so I was at his desk for 3 days. He had this trackball connected to his Mac and I felt like a new baby calf trying out new legs.

I was so used to my mouse, I felt like I had just gotten my hand for Christmas and didn't know how to use it. After just one day of using it, however, I was hooked. When my Mac was repaired, I stayed at my co-worker's desk until he came back from vacation, just so I could use his trackball and I asked my boss to order one for me as well.

No more mousepads, no more picking up and moving a mouse when you run out of cord and/or desk-space, and a trackball carefully designed to fit a normal adult human hand with ease.

The trackball is easy to clean and there is never any skipping on the rollers - the friction of the ball against the metal rollers is superb. The buttons are angled at such a way, they are almost a pleasure to click. I have never had wrist discomfort using this model.

The MouseWorks software that comes with the trackball allows you to program the 4 buttons to do different functions and you can even program "chords"... that is the action that happens when you click 2 buttons at once.

It is truly a shame that Kensington did not port this same exact model to USB for modern users and instead fell in love with the shiny colored plastic with poor traction on the rollers.

You can acquire an ADB to USB adapter that will allow you to use this on newer Macs or even PCs. The Kensington Mouseworks software is available for older Macs and newer Macs, as well as PCs.

If you have an old beige Mac you're using as a fax server or for another task, this model trackball is a joy to use.

For those using a newer Mac without an ADB port, you will have to buy a separate adapter to use this mouse with your computer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Mouse!
I have had the original expert mouse for a long time and it is much eaiser to use than a normal mouse. I would not buy it though if you play a lot of games becuase it is hard to move very fast to certin but is great forregular use. Buy it! ... Read more

Those die-cast metal cars that supplied endless hours of vroomvroom as a child are back in their very own PlayStation game. Thisfast action game captures the feeling of playing with Hot Wheels carsand the most deluxe track set ever imagined. While retaining someelements of a video game racer, Hot Wheels manages to shun thecurrent trend toward real-world physics and instead focuses on wildairborne stunts and wondrously loopy track design.

Like most racing games, the idea is to finish first. However, to winyou must pull off some acrobatic maneuvers such as barrel rolls andsomersaults to gain turbo boost rewards and blast past your opponents.Keeping a third-person viewpoint and simplistic controls, Hot WheelsTurbo Racing provides just the right touch to re-create theexperience of zooming your own Hot Wheels cars around the living room. The addition of moody, thematic track backgrounds and scorching soundand visual effects transforms every toy-playing kid's fantasy worldinto a digital reality. --Jeff Young

2-0 out of 5 stars good for a headache
I bought this game after trying it in the stores first.I liked it in the stores, but when I bought it, I was completely disappointed.I beat the game quickly, in one night, and it gave me a head ache.It is also a little frustrating because some stuff just happens. If you are buying it to play with the whole family, then I guess I could recomend it, but for anyone who plays games a lot, I suggest looking around for a better game.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Great Game!
This game is great! The graphics aren't the greatest but they still are good because you can see where you are going. You can unlock mystery cars when you either go in secrets, or win one of the 3 challenging cups. The cups get harder and harder as you go. After winning all 3 cups, I still haven't got all the mystery cars. I am missing 1. Not to brag.It is a
challenging game to get some of the mystery cars. If you get all of them, please let me know. Just Kidding! If you want to, you can. I don't mind. Speaking of the cars, they are great. Some have different strenghs. Like some can be fast and [are bad at] stunts or some can be good at both. When you unlock a mystery car, on a specific track. That means that this car is the car that is best at that track. REMINDER! Don't give up on finding the mystery cars. If you are racing and see one, after you finsh the race, you can practice that track and keep trying to get it. It might take a while but it is worth it. In conclusion, this game is great! Did I mention it is great? Oh yeah, it is great!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great game
This game is great for the whole family. It's easy enough for my 5 yr old, but challenging enough for Mom and Dad.We love racing against each other.A must have for Hot Wheel fans. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

Looking right out of the Jetsons' household, Fein's Turbo II vacuum is one the most effective on the market. With features like automatic start and dust-sealed switches, it's specifically designed to work with shaping, routing, or sanding tools, which create a lot of dust. It's also as quiet as any shop vacuum we've heard, making it easier to use in close proximity to a project, or in an enclosed space, and its internal fabric boot helps keep dust to a minimum. The Turbo II has a 7.3-gallon solid capacity, a 6.8-gallon liquid capacity, and a 1,300-watt, 9-1/2 amp, two-stage motor. Its size and sturdy rollers make it very portable and easy to dump after being filled. Unlike some larger models, you'll still be able to lift and empty this vacuum by yourself. The body is solid plastic and will hold up well to wear. The shape of the vacuum makes it easy to move around a job site--there aren't any big handles or attachments sticking out (other then the hose) to get snagged when wheeling the vacuum around. Fein's Turbo II is--hands down--a very high-quality, very low-noise vacuum, well worth the investment for carpenters, woodworkers, and craftspeople. --Jonathon Tudor ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Good Vacuum, Bad Waranty
I'm writing this messege with the intent of alerting users to some issues I just experienced with the Fein Model 9-55-13 vacuum.I"m not recommending against buying one, but I do think they should revisit their service policy.

I had my unit for about a year and a half.During that time I was genrealy very pleased with the unit in many respects. It had fantastic dust collection, a resonable foot print, and of course made a lot less noise than anything else.

A few days back it broke.I called Fein and was told that I had to send it into either Pitsburg or Hartford.I told them I was a contractor and needed an immediate replacement. The rep asked me if I wanted to buy a new one!

I sent an email.Below is the response (note he got my name wrong):

    Craig Morrison [cmorriso@feinus.com]
    Hi Vince,

I am not really sure how to respond to thie compliant, or even if we should. While I think our repair centers probably shouldn't throw repair estimates at our customers, and wait till they actually see the tool, I also don't believe that Sears, or any other manufacture would consider a "no-charge" replacement on a power tool that has been used for a year and half.

    Craig

Contast this with Shopvac - 5 year waranty (and a cheap unit!)

(Note: I had a shopvac that was a few years old and they simply sent me out a new engine when it broke OVERNIGHT!!!)

Festool - 3 year waranty (this is what I replaced my Fein with)

3-0 out of 5 stars Not Very Powerful and a Pain to Clean
I have had this vac for about three years now.I use it a lot when sanding and it does a nice job collecting dust so I don't have to wear a dust mask and I don't get covered with dust whensanding. My sanding discs last a lot longer when using the vac.
Cleaning the filter is a pain because I have to go outside with a nozzle and hose connected to my compressor.I blow the dust off the filter and it makes a huge cloud of dust outside and I have to hose down the residue on the ground.
The vacuum loses power as the filter becomes clogged. At first it was very quiet but after a while it became louder and louder and now is about as loud as any other shop vac.
The sucking power is not impressive. It has no more sucking power than my household vacuum. What is nice is that when you turn it on it doesn't blow a cloud of dust like other shop vacs. The small diameter hose clogs easy with small scraps. The acessories are extra and not cheap.

3-0 out of 5 stars FEIN Turbo almost a great product
I bought it for it's relatively low noise level - which it delivers.

It's hard to believe that a premium priced product like this would have some glaring shortcomings such as:

ON-OFF switch is concealed from view and the symmetrical design of the top gives no clue where it is every time you look to turn it on or off. I made a bandaid fix by placing a piece of tape on the top above the switch location - (-at this price?)

The casters must be smallest of any on the market and they are not guarded. Any obstruction on the floor such as an air hose or extension cord will stop them.

There is no built in provision for storing the powercord.

There is completely inadequate provision for storage of the vacuum hose. If at least one or two more wire formed brackets were included it would help a lot.

There is NO provision at all for storing any nozzles or hose extension.

These shortcomings will annoy every time the product is used - NOT GOOD.

This is a case of function being sacrificed at the altar of Industrial Design, yet so unnecessary and so easily avoidable.

If you're five to eight years old, get with some of your buddies, eat two bowls of Fruity Pebbles, scarf three packets of Pop Rocks, and snap your synapses into Power-Ranger Elysium with Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie. If you're a parent and you don't know a Zord from a Zordon, get ready for one and a half hours (yep, one and a half hours) of enough mass marketing and mindless mayhem to destroy any resistance to the overt "buy this toy" messages contained therein. The evil Divatox, a busty space "piratess," kidnaps two former Power Rangers and it's up to the new Rangers to save their friends from becoming human sacrifices to an evil monster. The Rangers' leader, Zordon (who thinks up these names?), gives the new crew added "turbo" powers and presents them with their new Zords--turbo-powered cars. What's never explained is why there are former Power Rangers: do they get drummed out for not morphing (or morphing too much), or do the Rangers maintain the same policy as the once-famous Latino pop band, Menudo (replacing members once they get too old). There's an inordinate amount of the fake kung-fu kicking that made the TV show popular, and the villains are grotesque; but they're just shrieking punching bags. But the thought that Turbo is basically "the next generation" of Power Rangers is enough send chills up any parent's back. That's why kids love them so. --Keith Simanton ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars My Grandson's favorite movie.
My Grandson loves this movie so much that it is becoming a bit of a problem with him wanting to watch it over and over.He has certainly gotten his money's worth out of this one.

4-0 out of 5 stars good but not as good as the frist one
how come there wasint as much acitoin as the first one?
anyway good movie but it is not as good as the first one.

2-0 out of 5 stars It's a Good movie but it's best if you rent it
I got this movie not too long ago and it's a good movie no doubt about that. But right now it's just on a shelf collecting dust because for me I already saw it like 3 times after that you know what it's about and dont bother watching it.

Unless you're a hardcore fan of this movie and you really want to own this movie then you should get it. But thats how I felt that I really wanted to get this movie, but it turned out to be a waste of money as time passed because it's just in the video shelf for soo many years getting dusty.

I recommend you rent this movie from Block Buster or any other video rental store because after some time you will not bother watching it and the video will just be left on a shelf or some thing.

One video I would recommend is the Power Rangers in Space Video that one is worth buying because that video has taken the Physco ranger series and made a mini movie out of all the episodes and it's fun to watch for every one

Just to sum up every thing above, Rent it, dont bother buying it save you're money for the Power Rangers in Space Video or the Best of Power Rangers Ultimate Rangers DVD, because they are going to be way more fun and you'll end up wathcing it more frequently and not get bored of it. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent footage of the Mallard.
Better than what Gene Pope says it is.
There is minimal 'information' on history etc, but the video makes up for it with great footage of water take off & landings.Even some air to air footage. It covers 2 flights: Miami to Bimini & Miami to Key West.

This DVD is made with Chalks International Airline in Miami. The in plane footage has pilot conversions between themselves & over the radio with ATC & other aircraft. There is a bit of history about Chalks' Airline included.

A good movie if you like to watch boat planes.

I hope they have one on the HU-16 Albatross in the series.

1-0 out of 5 stars Pretty lame
I expected a video that talked about the airplane, its history, performance, etc. All it is is a bunch of repetitive video of a regional airline using G-73s in florida taking off and landing with mininmal narration or information. ... Read more

At 28,000 rotations per minute, this simple tool makes easy work of frothing milk for your morning cappuccino. Just put milk in a mug or microwave-safe pitcher, submerge the blade, and whirl for a few seconds. Then heat the milk in a microwave before pouring it over espresso or brewed coffee. (Or, if you're in a microwave-free home, heat and froth the milk in a small saucepan on the stove.) You can also whip cream to top a mocha or to use in desserts, or whip egg whites, though it is important to stick with small jobs. The tool is powerful for its size, but you'll still need a blender for those smoothies. --Cynthia Nims ... Read more
