Save valuable time and simplify your watering schedules using this Gardena electronic water timer. This compact unit attaches directly to your outdoor spigot and allows you to program up to three daily watering periods lasting from 1 to 120 minutes apiece. The timer's reliable electromagnetic valve technology conserves energy, making this unit efficient, as well as practical. Programming is performed using two simple dials on the unit's face. To make things even easier, the program unit can be removed from the computer with the click of a latch, allowing you to do the programming from the comfort of your home. 5-0 out of 5 stars a winner
I have 8 timers working on our property and I am starting to convert to Gardena T-1030 for replacement. I have one working now and it has been functioning for close to a year.
Down here in the tropics, a well designed and constructed piece of equipment is importand to withstand the UV rays and the weather. This product fits that requirement.

2-0 out of 5 stars OK, but pricey for what you get
I own about 20 of the 31805-4 and 31820-4 Gardena timers. All of them have worked for at least 12 months, but many have failed within 24 months. I don't like having to buy more of them, but there's really nothing else available. One additional "problem" with the 31820-4 is that when you choose longer watering times you must also choose longer periods between waterings and when you choose shorter watering times you must also choose shorter periods between waterings--in other words you can't choose short waterings with long periods between.

5-0 out of 5 stars no leaks
I had tried to save a little money and bought another timmer... well it leaked so badly in the guts of the timmer.. not the connections, that I hadto return it and then I bought the Gardena 31805-4 well... no leaks andeverything is now watered through the timmer!Could have saved alot oftime if I had just bought the Gardena first. A very happy customer! ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Nelson 1865 traveling sprinkler
I own three LR Nelson Traveling Sprinklers! Two speed and a neutral positions. Says that it drags 200' foot of hose!
The traveling sprinkler is a great concept. However, "They just don't make 'em like the used to."
The gear box has failed in all three within a seasons time. Just be prepared to buy a new one every 2 months and 'Happy Watering!'

1-0 out of 5 stars better as an anchor
I have had this sprinkler for 2 years or so. I find it agravating as heck. I cannot leave if it is on. The ground needs to be flat and hard for it to traverse, or it will sink in soft, or muddy dirt, or just get stuck. The sprinkling effect only covers the outer radius of a circle, rather than the whole area of said circle. I am looking for a better unit. 1-star is the lowest they had to choose from.

2-0 out of 5 stars This ole tractor ain't what it used to be.
Now on my third Nelson Traveling Sprinkler that has busted down during its second use. Seems like something is wrong in the gear box as it attempts to move forward, but just clicks and bounces back. And yes, the spray arms are aimed correctly. The first two were exchanged because the cheap plastic black tee connector cracked and leaked after there first use. One would think a brass tee would apply here. Not knowing how well this product was made in the past, but today Traveling Sprinkler seems to have cut corners in quality. ... Read more

Yard-Man 13AU604H40146" Diameter Cut 20 hp Lawn Tractor
Average Customer Review: 3.5 out of 5 stars
    Tools & Hardware
    list price: $2,299.99

    Editorial Review

The Yard-Man AutoDrive lawn tractor should fulfill all your tractor dreams. Perched on the broad and absurdly comfortable canary-yellow tractor seat, cool drink at your side in the drink holder (a most enviable feature), you can survey your land with just pride in luxurious ease. Corrugated foam seat cushions and foam lower-back support provide comfort for your derriere and lumbar region, and strong shock absorbers under the seat keep the ride from jarring your bones (or spilling your refreshment). Rubber foot treads keep your feet from sliding about, and all the controls are an easy hand or foot reach away. Ignition, choke, and light switch are all prominent on the dash, as are the throttle controls (going all the way from turtle to hare). The blade height lever, on your right-hand side as you sit in the driver's seat, is delightfully easy to operate, deftly adjusting between six settings. The transmission gear to your left shifts between forward, neutral, and reverse. Three sharp blades keep your lawn trim, and you can choose whether you'd rather mulch or side disperse. Other features resemble those of your favorite car, and then some. The dash sports an indicator monitor, reminding you to depress the brake pedal or add oil, when necessary; the AutoDrive pedal enhances your power control, allowing you to accelerate with autolike ease, while the hour meter records how long you've been cruising--we mean working. The 20-horsepower engine, the top of the line when it comes to home lawn mower power, can carry you regally about the land you sweated for, but no longer need to sweat on. And best of all, it comes completely assembled. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor customer service
The low rating on this product is aimed at the customer service/warranty associated with the product group. I bought a MTD lawn tractor 5 months ago and within 31/2 months the thread on the shoulder bolt striped out resulting in the idler pulley falling out of position. I called MTD for the location of a authorized service location in my area. The automated answering machine gave me the name and number for the service dealer. I confirmed with the service provider that the defect was a warranty repair. It took a month to get the tractor fixed and when I went to pick it up I was told that it wasn't under warranty and if I wanted to pick up the tractor I would have to pay for the repairs. I reminded him that he had confirmed warranty at the time I brought it in. At that time he said it was to hard to procees the warranty. I contacted MTD and the service rep said he would contact the service provider and call me back. He never returned the call so I called again. This time a service rep told me that they didn't tell me were to take the tractor for repair and that the choice had been mine. I told him that the automated system for service had that dealer as the authorized service provider in this area. He said he didn't care what it said, that the choice was still mine for where I took it. He did say he would call them to get the other side of the complaint and call me back. I went ahead and paid the charges for the repair because by that time I needed it. I did get the nut and bolt that had been replaced and after measuring them found that both components were grossly out of industrial specifications. The thread engagement for that combination should have been about 77%, the bolt and nut used on the tractor had less than 50%. With a third less thread emgagement the bolt would stripe at a much lower torque than normal. The components used on this tractor can be manufactured cheaper and faster than standard fasteners. The service rep from MTD, surprisingly, did call back and told me that the reason the warranty was not allowed was because I hadn't supplied Proof of Purchase. I told him I had and that the date was on the receipt I received from the service provider. I informed him of measurements on the defective material and the impact on the failure mode. Some of the numbers were technical in nature so I told him he should confirm them with his engineering dept. His main concern was that I had the defective parts and he wanted to know how I got them. I told him I had just ask for them. He said he would investigate further and call me back. Guess what? No call. It's also the last MTD product I ever buy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Integrity and Speed
I was reluctant at first to make this purchase over the net. I am, however, sure glad I did. The process went fast and painless. The equipment was exactly as I expected plus more. The price was much better than if I purchesed this lawn tractor locally. The speed of delivery and the friendly help of the delivery personnel was a big plus. I have already used this equipment and find it to be of good quality and ease of use.
Keep up the good work. Lastly, I've noticed a customer service availability, I don't need them, all is fine here.

4-0 out of 5 stars Just a Swinging!
I bought this for really cheap and I cant wait until spring when I can use it!I didnt think that I wanted a rope hammock, but the price was right and now that I have it I love it and cant wait to use it outside!

5-0 out of 5 stars Give it time
It is funny to read these review of people complaining of the hammock sagging.Of course being a cotton hammock, there is some stretch to work out of it.The first time I sat on it, I was on the ground rather quickly. However, unlike the other negative reviews, I simply retied the knots to make it tight again.Magically, the hammock stayed up, some people need to learn patience!I spent most of my summer taking a nap, and reading books on it. I recommend it to everyone.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love mine!!!
It does stretch a little, but I weigh 190lbs, and set at the tightest links, it is heaven on earth. The stand was super simple to assemble (no screws!) and with a pillow, stress just melts away! ... Read more

Annuals: A Growing Guide for Easy, Colorful Gardens (Burpee Basics, 1)
Average Customer Review: 4.0 out of 5 stars
    Paperback (16 November, 1998)
    list price: $15.95
US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France

    Editorial Review

Burpee is perhaps North America's best-known name in gardening, and the Burpee Basics series of colorful, concise growing guides to specific plant types is an appropriately basic, sound reference for novice gardeners. Annuals lives up well to the series subtitle, Growing Guides for Easy, Colorful Gardens, both because the book itself is simply, clearly written, and because annuals are easy to plant and care for, making them a beginning gardener's best friend. Author Emma Sweeney lays out the essentials of soil science, composting, hardiness zones, and supplies in the first chapter, moves on to garden planning and design in the second (including plans for one extremely low-maintenance garden, a cutting garden, and a self-sowing garden, among others), and fills us in on the basics of planting and maintenance in the third. Then it's on to the meat of the book: careful descriptions of 75 great annuals chosen for easy care, availability, and variety. The helpful appendix includes a monthly calendar of tasks, a table of the dates of first and last frosts in North America, and a very basic garden glossary. This is an extremely practical growing guide that new gardeners will use, wear out, and enjoy. ... Read more

    Black & Decker BV2500 Leaf Hog Vac'N'Mulch Blower/Vacuum

    Editorial Review

With the Black & Decker Leaf Hog, you can clean up both the deck and the lawn with one reasonably priced and easy-to-maintain machine. This blower/vac is electric, so it requires an extension cord and an electric outlet to run, but there's nothing else to set up or maintain. The 12 amp motor has considerable power for its size, more than enough to clear driveways or decks or blow off sections of lawn. At just over 7 pounds, the Leaf Hog is light enough to use for long periods of time, and it's also quiet enough to use at any time of day. Switching from blowing to vacuuming is a snap--literally. The correct button took us a moment to find, but once you've located it, you simply depress it and remove the blowing unit, then attach the vacuum extension in its place. The extension has a bag for mulch, which attaches with a small clasp. When vacuuming, the unit mulches by sucking leaves through the fan assembly. Though this model, with its patented Vortex anticlog vacuum system, does a better job of remaining unclogged than most, you still need to be careful to avoid rocks and sticks. It also has a variable-speed control that lets you choose between 150 and 200 mph blower speed. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Black & Decker does it again!
Whilst at a construction trade show I overheard two B & D reps talking. One said "the construction grade tools are well designed, but the consumer drills, for example are designed for a twelve hourlife". This is not unrealistic for a weekend warrior who might use the drill once or twice a year, drilling the occasional holes.

The Leaf Hog is apparently in the same category, based on sterling initial reviews, I put my doubts aside and bought one. With about 35 hours of use, it has quit.

    Buyer beware!

1-0 out of 5 stars Motor Burned Up
I had this product for about 15 months and the motor burned up. I didn't use it a great deal either.I would not recommend this product.

1-0 out of 5 stars When will the leaf hog be Recalled?
We have had ourleaf hog for a little over a year. After using it for three times the off button stopped working! the only way to turn it off was pulling the plug. Also the on / off button is labelled so poorly that when the unit is dusty one can not tell the difference between the on/off button and the button that takes of the housing covering the impeller. After my husband cut his leg with the rotating impeller and not able to turn off the unit we stopped using this horrilbe product.I just looked to see if it has been recalled.Watch out people! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars great chair
I just bought one of these recliners 3 days ago. I have chronic upper back pain and my recliner at home was not helping my condition. I have used this recliner for the last 3 days in the evening watching TV in my living room and my back is actually starting to feel better. I am going to buy some for my pool patio area next. I would recommend this product to anyone.

1-0 out of 5 stars Most disappointing purchase I've ever made.
We purchased two of these chairs since we enjoyed the feel so much, however the frames rusted out after two years, and the elastic cords needed to be replaced after only one year. I must say this is probably the worst purchase decision I've ever made. These chairs were too expensive to be essentially disposable !

2-0 out of 5 stars Make sure it set up properly.
I had this last week and was very excited to show up at the back yard under morning sun. Unfortunately, one screw was broken anyhow and I didn't notice. It is just fine. After two to three times on/off, and turn back on the chair I was amazingly falling down to the deck floor like slippery on the ice. That is it.
Now, it is working fine and lovely. But the back is still in pain. ... Read more
