5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect Fit
I like using 80 grit to trim near my pattern mark, and then switch to a finer grit to polish it smooth.

With thin pieces you can flip these over to keep from wasting part of the sleeve. And they are tall enough to stackseveral items together if you are making more than one part. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Save your Money!
This gadget will work fine if you're drilling in something like thin baseboard molding, etc. or other light weight stuff.Any thing heavier than a 2x4 you can forget about decent support. You have to make an allowance on the height of your support to compensate for the swag you are going to get because of the weight.I wish I had bought a floor support stand instead.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great idea...but...
I've been using the HTC PM-128 Drill Press Support for a year or so and I think its a great idea. The problem I have with the PM-128 is its lack of rigidity and strength.I've never been able to use it for accurate drilling simply because it bends quite easily, especially when the arms are near full extension.Itsdifficult to get the rollers to be coplanar with the drill press table because the steel tubing twists and racks.I know, you are probably saying: for [the price] what do you expect?I agree, I got what I paid for.I wish HTC (whose mobile bases are top notch!) would come out with a PM-428 or something, costing about [ammount of money] or so, using heavier tubing and a more robust clamping device for the drill press column.Conceptually the PM-128 is well thought out, with plenty of adjustments and a convenient storage tray, it just needs to be beefed up a little. If you purchase the PM-128 be advised that it is not suitable for long >5ft. or heavy pieces of material, in my humble opinion.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not Good
I purchase the quickset. I was hope to save time when working on my projects. For some reason it will let go of the blade . That is not the bad part. There are two little spring on the blade chuck. When it let go they go flying ,good luck finding them. I would think twice before you buy this item. The time you save on working on your project is used up looking for the springs. I wish they would come up with some other design.

4-0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC SYSTEM
This system is a breeze. Easy to adjust the thumb type screw for different size blade thickness. Then just clamp it shut. How easy is that? This idea works well and is so simple a monkey could do it.This model once you have adjusted it for your blade thickness, just close the jaws with the lever and your all set to go. With the power of this clamp and so much adjustability blade's slipping are a thing of the past. Why delta only puts this quality clamp on the top arm I dont know. They DO however offer it both top and bottom on the spendier models.Maybe delta will offer it as an after market item someday who knows? Even still this is a solid system and in my opinion the best you can get for the money. Now get out there, clamp in a fresh blade and enjoy yourself. ... Read more

Editorial Review

This benchtop saw from Delta's Shopmaster line offers accuracy and reliability in an easily portable package. It has a 13 amp, 120-volt motor for plowing through cuts and features a 17-1/4-by-26-inch table that allows for a 9-7/8-inch maximum rip to the right of the blade. There's a self-aligning rip fence that locks in parallel to the blade and a T-slot groove in the table so you can use a standard miter gauge for crosscutting. It also has a see-through blade guard with an integral splitter and antikickback fingers, and a toggle-style on/off switch. This model comes with a hefty steel stand so you can use it anywhere you need it. While this is a great saw for do-it-yourselfers working on smaller projects, people needing more rip capacity and a more powerful motor will want to consider a step up to Delta's TS220 Shopmaster saw. --Brian Trinen ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Arrived unadjusted and unadjustable
The instruction manual says "The blade was adjusted parallel to the miter gauge slots at the factory." Mine wasn't. One side of the blade was 1/8 inch closer to the slot than the other (not just incaccurate, but apt to cause the blade to bind and cause a dangerous accident.) I discovered why it wasn't adjusted when I proceeded to follow the instructions for adjusting it myself: the range of adjustment wasn't sufficient to correct for the misalignment. Perhaps a factory worker discovered this and decided to ship it unadjusted anyway. Needing the saw immediately, I removed the motor assembly and remounted it with 5/16" washers serving as shims, and was then able to adjust it adequately. I wasn't expecting a precision tool at this low price, but this one wasn't even usable when I received it.

3-0 out of 5 stars a cheap, but decent saw
I bought this delta saw about a year ago for an simple remodle job.I was just getting into woodworking and didnt have much money, so the delta looked pretty nice.after getting hime and putting it together if found that the stand was totaly unsatasfactory...so built my own out of heafty 4x4's and 3/4" plywood, this made a huge difference.Even after this it is STILL just a hundred dollar table saw, u get waht u pay for somewhat underpowered and very noisy but it got the job done.I would recomend it for anybody who desparatly needs a table saw but only has a hundred bucks...u get a decent saw.if u can, go bigger because this wont cut it if your doing anything serious.i would definatley considrer getting a new blade, preferably a thin kerf because of the power.

4-0 out of 5 stars Worth the money
I have to agree with some of the previous reviews. This is a good, portable table saw.I wanted an inexpensive and portable table saw to get my workshop started. The low price, light weight and included stand fitted my needs exactly.

I have used this saw to build some bookcases and to rip some nailers for a crown molding project, as well as some other smaller jobs.So far this little Delta has powered through everything with only the problems that would come from any other lightweight, portable saw.I did pick up a thin kerf Freud Diablo after-market blade. This saw and blade combo makes VERY SMOOTH cuts while the included blade is great for chewing through stock when a little wave doesn't matter.

This is not a cabinet saw with an ultra-accurate fence.Don't rely on the included rule.Get out your T-square and set the fence.Once the fence is set, I've found that it stays in place.

Yes,the mitre slots are smaller than standard and that is a pain in the backside but with a little creativity and some time at the bench grinder my after-market Bench Dog feather boards fit like a dream.

The table is small but the portability of the saw was important to me.I stopped at Sears and picked up two Craftsman roller stands and the small table is no longer an issue. The beauty is that all three pieces don't take up much space in my garage.

The saw is lightweight and has a tendency to wander on a smooth surface.A piece of plywood with some 2x4's attached in a square shape solves this problem.Set the stand legs inside the square and your body weight stops the wandering.Make sure that the plywood is long enough so you can stand on it while guiding your work piece through the saw.The plywood leans against a wall behind the rollers and saw and doesn't take up much space in my garage.

So there are is my opinion of this inexpensive, portable saw.My only complaint with the saw is the non-standard mitre slots (this is the reason that it didn't get 5 stars). The other complaints are inherent with all portable table saws.

If you need to make ultra-accurate cuts or power through a ton of hardwood every day, this is not the saw for you.If you do the occasional project and have minimal storage area, this is a great saw with a nice price tag. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor Design
I agree with the other reviewers. This is a poor design, obviously an after thought.I have DJ-15 that is a few years old.I have no intention of drilling holes in it.Also, the outlet is 5 inch, not 4 inch.I sent mine back, I plan to take the suggestion of the other reviewer and tape on a plastic one.Delta makes then for their newer 6 and 8 inch jointers.

2-0 out of 5 stars PLEASE!
Come on Delta, you can do better than this!

If you plan on buying a DJ-20, buy an inexpensive square table saw dust connector (about 1 ft. x 1 ft.), use 1 in. double sided foam tape (like the kind used to hand posters and such), and stick the connector to the side of the DJ-20.You won't be forced to drill any holes in your new expensive jointer, and you'll get a perfect seal around the connector.

3-0 out of 5 stars Requires modification to router
My wife ordered this for me, since it was on my wishlist. She had purchased my Delta DJ-20 8" jointer from Amazon for my birthday, nice wife!Anyway, this dust connector is mounted with the included screws, but there are no holes in the side of my DJ-20 jointer.I'm going to have to drill holes in the side of my expensive jointer to use this connector.Would have preferred a simpler solution. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Be Cheap!
I very rarely need to change belts with this. It's as though the belts last forever when you unclog them with it.I compare using this to using a pencil eraser, except that the surface is moving and the eraser is not.Buy this. You won't regret it.Why waste money on new belts?

5-0 out of 5 stars Really Works!
This Product is one of few, that really do work. I have many sanding belts and disks (even dremel sanding barrels) that I was able to restore with this stick. I sand wood, plastics, and metal. You can imagine how dirty my belts get. Just touch the disk to the belt and sand, like you would a piece of wood. The particles in the clogged belt come right out with little mess, and the belt cuts like new. You will be suprised with it's performance. ... Read more

Editorial Review

You know you're a real woodworker once you start ogling dust-collection systems--it's the next logical step when you're making more sawdust than you can sweep. There are lots of reasons to bring one of these into your workshop: safety, air quality, and time--you can spend more time making sawdust rather than sweeping it up! This model is a favorite of ours for a few reasons: price, power, and size. You're not going to find many systems at this price that will move 550 cubic feet of air per minute, as this AP300 can with its 3/4-horsepower motor. It's totally portable, too, and at 50 pounds, it totes easily from one tool to the next with a comfortable grip handle. The 4-inch intake hose fits the standard dust chute that comes on most tools, and a nice wide hood will capture chips and dust and debris. One more advantage to this little fellow over a stationary system: it'll hang on your wall for storage, up out of your way--a huge plus for folks with space-challenged workshops. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Just What I Needed / Almost 5 Stars
This has augmented my central system. For years I had the hassle of a 4" hose hanging down to my Unisaw. It seemed always in the way, catching on long boards when I was cutting or moving them about in the shop.Recently I added a large rear table and had to either re-route a lot of ductwork or put one of these underneath to collect the sawdust. It works fine for me - seems to have plenty of suction.Actually better than a 2HP central system 25 feet away.Do keep in mind this is as small of a dust collector as you can get.It is more than a shop vac but a far cry from a central system.Attaching it to something that puts out a lot of chips (like a planer) will take it to its limits (and fill its bag) quickly.

Years ago, when I first started woodworking I had a green brand of this and it literally was exactly the same machine other than color, and it didn't come with the hose/nozzel accessories.Today that machine sells more more than the AP300 and still doesn't come with the hose or nozzel.

Like the other reviewer I gave it 4 stars because it only offered a 30 micron bag as standard equipment.Other wise I would have rated it 5 stars.

2-0 out of 5 stars Kinda sucks.......
This new version of the Delta 50-280 isn't as good as the older model. I've had a 50-280 for about 4 years now and it does a real good job of collecting chips/dust from my table saw, band saw, planer, joiner, spindle sander, etc. I move it from tool to tool as I use them, kind of a hassel, but it works well. Thought I would buy another to cut down on the hose moving. Still wanted a smaller unit so I could stash it under a bench out of the way, so ordered an AP300 as the 50-280 is no longer available. This is definitly a much cheaper unit. Even with the standard hose it does not seem to have enough suction to keep up with my Delta planer, chips load up in the dust chute and eventually clog the spaces not directly in front of the four inch outlet. When the inlet of the dust collector clogs up (frequently) it is a real pain to clear it out, and chips are always left in the hose, sometimes a couple of handfulls will not make it to the bag.
Using a can for the larger stuff isn't really an option for me as I'm space challenged.
I'm going to return this dust collector, and take a look at some of the other offerings out there. Delta seems to be getting in a habit of producing duds lately. This is one of them. Can't recommend this tool.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for its size
I have limited space so i thought i'd give it a try despite some lower reviews here. But this is the deal.
I have a Porter-cable vacuum that i use with my routers and smaller machines, but i wanted to get something a little bigger and still portable to use with my tablesaw, bandsaw, lathe, planer and jointer. My Rigid shop vac is slightly bettter than useless.
This draws more air and chips than the Porter-Cable as well as my Rigid shop vac. My Porter-Cable vacuum is much better than my Rigid. Although the rigid has a larger diameter hose to pick up larger chips, it's not a very good vacuum.
This portable Delta dust collector draws substantially more debris.
I have no problem with this Delta unit and was pleasantly surprized with it's ability to collect material from all of my machines.
I suggest getting 4" quick disconnects permanently mounted on all of your machines rather than use the Delta kit and/or the screw clamps. Makes swapping back and forth trouble free.
I give this a 4 rather than a 5 since the bag included is only 30 micron. 10 microns and under are what contributes to lung problems. I do use a JDS air filter which picks up the rest of the little stuff.
Actually there's a company called Penn State Industries that makes a portable unit with a 1 micron bag that's more powerful. It's a little over $200. A 1 micron replacement bag is $69.

But if you opt for this you can save yourself some money, it's $119 at Lowes. ... Read more
