Excellent Add On
I had absolutly no trouble with reading, understanding and following the instruction when installing the DW7461 Heavy Duty Table Slide to my Dewalt Table Saw.

To me the key was.Don't go to the following step until the prior one is completly understood and inplemented.

Well worth the cost.

Great table, not-so-great mitre gauge
I've found the table to be a great addition to the saw; the mitre gauge less impressive.The table is fairly easy to set up--although the instructions could be improved, if you have a helper for the lifting step the parts are all well-engineered and fit together well.It took me about 5 minutes to level it perfectly--you should set the horizontal distance from the main table before adjusting the set screws.It slides smoothly.And it adds 100lbs or so to the saw, making it even more stable--a big plus.

But I'll be saving my pennies to buy a replacement mitre gauge, as the DeWalt gauge is very sloppily put together.Even locked down at every adjustment, it wobbles, and I have no confidence in any angle set.I'm using the stock mitre gauge for the time being, and that's a workable interim solution.

EDITED 9/7/04:DeWalt shipped me a replacement gauge which locks down beautifully, and will enable great precision.Altogether I now have a very fine package--certainly worth five stars.

Not even close
I greatly anticipated delivery of the DeWalt sliding table for my table saw.Assembly is not trivial even for an experienced and mechanicaly inclined person such as myself.Then the disappointments started.I had a difficult time adjusting the table to level since moving one leveling screw upset some other corner.When I had the table level, I adjusted the gap between the sliding table and the saw.With the gap straight, I found that the table was no longer level.Around and around this sequence went.When I finally had the gap straight and the table level, I tightened the mounts and slid the table.That was when I noticed that the table doesn't stay level through its travel.This was the final straw of frustration, so back the table goes to get my money back.For this kind of money, I would expect better performance from DeWalt products.I still love my table saw, but the sliding table is junk since it won't hold stable through the travel. ... Fast and easy to use
This product is fast to set up and easy to use, I think it took about 5 minutes to get started.I only wish it came with a tripod and a grade stick but these can be picked up very easy from amazon or major home improvement stores etc.

great general purpose laser level
I purchased this laser level ... to assist with the surveying on a long cement driveway project.The driveway was 120' feet long and was much longer than traditional water level & line level techniques would remain accurate.The dw072kd arrived ... in great condition.It was relatively simple to set up, even for one person.Some have complained that this unit is not an autoleveler, but I specifically chose it for that property.In about 15 minutes, I was able to position the beam so that it struck the top of the curb cut at one end, and the top of the garage slab 120' away.Then, the beam illuminated the correct position of the top of the forms all the way along, removing any need for a grade rod or correction measurements.I've also set it up in a true-level position to layout an 80' section of fence, and position a drop ceiling.One the fence, I double-checked level with a water-tube-level, and found the laser well within the promised 1/4 inch in 100' (it was spot-on perfect). One caution, if you're working outside, you will definitely need to purchase the ... laser detector, as the beam isn't visible for more than 10' in sunlight, although in the shade, it's readily located 40' away.All in all, I'm very happy with the purchase.For most do-it-yourselfers this will be a good investment.Battery life seems good, this one's been going about 20+ hours on the first set of D-cells i put in it. ... Uninspiring
I had one of these for about a year.I own lots of Dewalt cordless tools, and have been generally very happy with them.I use the heck out of my standard 12v drill, so this right-angle drill seemed like a natural addition.I found the body to be pretty large and clumsy, which kind of defeats the idea of getting something for working in confined spots.Because it was hard to hold and manipulate, I had a hard time driving screws without slipping the bit out of the head frequently.After a while, I just gave up on using this and found other ways to get the work done.(If you're interested, I have used a Milwaukee corded "close quarters" drill and really like it.)

Great Little Sander!!
I love this sander.From the time I took it out of the box to do a home renovation project to the time I took it off and cleaned it four hours later I have been pleased.Ladies if you want a powerful sander that has a good grip to it, this is the one for you.I had no trouble holding on to it.The only problem I had was the dust collection bag kept slipping at intervals, other than that I'm looking forward to and inventing projects for my sander.

The DW 421 is a great sander.

This is the ideal sander for everyone from the novice to the professional.The sander is quite versatile and can be used for fine finish work or heavy stock removal.I use it for cabinet doors, trim work and general wood work.My first use was for sanding cabinet doors.To my surprise there were no swirl marks when I finished them with a satin polyurethane which shows imperfections.

The DeWalt's Engineers went all out with the lightweight, well balanced, comfortable and ergonomic design.It fits in the palm of your hand with the power switch at your finger tips.It has minimal vibration.The hook and loop makes changing sand paper a breeze.

All these features for under $80.

I bought the reconditioned sander.
Why buy a new one, the reconditioned sander is as good as new and cheaper.I was also pleased that the reconditioned sander came with a nice carrying case.I can't tell the sander was reconditioned, no nicks or scratches, and it has a full warranty.

Excellent quality and durability
I was amazed at the rate these drill bits chew through metal... I drilled through a 1/4" of a piece of tempered steel in half a minute and through 16ga copper sheet in barely a second.The cobalt bits in the copper were incredible, I did not even have to apply much pressure to get the bit to bite.

Very impressed.

Great bits in a sturdy case
What a great purchase!The bits are sharp and sturdy, and they cut through wood like it's butter.They come to a point at a wide angle, so they're less likely to slide away from your drilling point as you start drilling.

I've only owned them for a few weeks, so I can't attest to how long they'll stay this sharp.Also, I've yet to try drilling through metal.

The set comes with two bits for some of the popular sizes, which is great since I tend to lose or break my 1/8" bit all the time.

The case itself is quite sturdy, but a little oversized.The bits are held firmly in place, so you never open your case after a bumpy car ride to have all 13 bits fall to your feet.If you own a DeWalt drill, it fits snugly in the drill case.

My one complaint is that the sliding lock is really tough to open and close. ... Read more

quick and simple
unlike most items today this tripod comes out of the box completely assembled and ready to use. Less than 10 minutes after opening the box I had my laser level mounted on it, leveled, and in use. One thing that i did not expect was that there is no stopping point for the legs (meaning they will fold all the way out if you want). Thus allowing you to set the tripod fairly low to the ground. The leg adjustment locks are extemely easy to use and the entire unit seems to be made very durable.

This tripod works
This tripod works for me.It is solid, easy to adjust and has a hanger for a plumb bob so you can position it squarely over a monument.Any experienced home improvement person will enjoy this unit.
