If you're looking for a great deal on a basic home tool set, it's hard to beat this collection from Allied. In fact, the 16-ounce hammer alone is nearly worth the price of the whole set; add all the other tools and you've got a real bargain. We were impressed with the quality of the needle-nose and slip-joint pliers. Not only are they well made, they both also come with soft-handle grips more commonly found on higher-end tools. Also included is a magnetic screwdriver with 10 bits, a 6-inch adjustable wrench, 8 hex wrenches, a 3/8-drive ratchet with a 3-inch extension bar, and a socket set. The socket set also includes 14 standard sockets and 6 metric sockets. To round out the collection Allied has thrown in a decent utility knife, a 12-foot tape measure, and a torpedo level. Unfortunately, the tape measure and level are not the same quality as the rest of the tools in the kit and look like toys in comparison. But despite the laughable tape measure and level, one could easily spend a whole lot more trying to buy this same collection of tools separately, and the quality of the majority of them is well worth it. Great for the house; not good for the car
Perfect for moving into a new house - it's got everything you need to get started.

But don't get this if you want to work on your car - the tools just aren't up to the job. I've had to replace a few of the sockets and the wrench itself already.

Overall, an okay set for around the house chores.If you engage in do-it-yourself projects on any regular schedule, invest in a higher quality set.

Not bad at all
I would have given this a five except for the fact that the molding inside has a little trouble keeping the saw in place when you first hold it.Don't get me wrong, you ain't losing a hand but it is just a tad annoying to have a piece loose when you open it like a suitcase.Other than that it has plenty of things you will need to rough it and it is compact.not a bad price either. ... You might think that a children's tool set that comes in a bright-green plastic case shaped like an old farm tractor would be full of toy tools or, at best, poor-quality tools, but you'd be wrong. This little kit comes with real tools that can actually be used to repair farm equipment. The 8-ounce claw hammer has a smooth face and a steel handle with a comfortable rubber grip. It's a great tool for light hammering of small nails. For turning nuts and bolts, junior farmers get a 1/4-inch drive ratchet, nine standard sockets from 3/16 to 5/8 inch, a short extension bar, and a spinner handle. There's also a set of eight hex wrenches from 1/16 inch up to 1/4 inch that come in a convenient holder. We really like the quality of the 6-inch adjustable wrench, complete with a nice yellow rubber grip, and the matching slip-joint pliers. Good tools with good warranty for less than $... each
This is a nice, well rounded set of tools that covers most of the needs any normal person would have working around the house.Want to hang a picture?It's got the tools.Want to fix the dryer?It has what you will need.Want to put together juniors new bike?You are ready to do it with this set.All in all this comes with everything you would need to to your typical light do it yourself project or home repair.It also has a couple of convenient extras like jewelers screwdrivers that are perfect for fixing that loose temple on your eyeglasses and a utility knife with snap of blades, great for doing wallpaper.

Another thing that is handy is that it does come with a pretty sturdy and lightweight case which is compact enough to carry just about anywhere.The case itself has slots for each tool (labels on the sockets are very convenient and much easier than trying to read the engraving) and if a slot isn't filled, you know that that tool is missing!It also has a small sectioned box ideal for putting in a few screws and nails and it already comes with an assortment of fasteners.

Th tools themselves are surprisingly sturdy, and they do come with a lifetime warranty.They almost all have a rubber comfort grip on the handles which definately makes them easier on the hands when you are doing a little bit of more repetitive work.When you consider that they are less than $.. each, these are really a good value.
