this hinge has a fundamental design defect and should not be used in new home installations.

Totally fun cabinet hardware
I bought a mixture of this spoon pull, the fork, and the knife pulls for my newly remodeled kitchen.They are a lot of fun and add a little lighthearted touch to what had become an almost-too-formal room.Beware however, that these pulls are actually more of a satin nickel finish than a satin chrome, and do not match the brushed chrome Amerock pulls offered on this site. ... Nice product, but the price is high
Amerock products are available in almost any homecenter. Unfortuately, most homecenters offer little or no expertise, despite their claims. I found these at a local "builders hardware" specialty store formuch less, plus I was able to see the product, touch it, and speak with aknowledgable sales person.

Clean look, low cost
This style has a hollow back (its cross-section would have the shape of an umbrella), instead of being solid (i.e., with a mushroom-shaped cross-section), reducing its cost without sacrificing appearance.The only knock is that with the hollow back, it's possible to get a finger caught back there, which can be very painful as the cabinet door swings farther open!For those less dense than me, though, this is a very cleanly designed knob, with a crisp-looking polished finish.Also available from the manufacturer in several other finishes (including polished brass, antique brass and brushed brass or chrome.) ... What a great way to spruce up an old piece of furniture!
I bought eight of these for an old four-drawer wooden dresser of no great merit. What a difference they made!
