Throat Depth Counts!
I wasted money on this clamp because the description didn't mention the throat depth.I needed to clamp a 3" ear to the top of cabinet sides thus making the toe kick by overhanging the cabinet top.This clamp looked to be perfect, but the throat depth was about an inch shy.The side grabbers wouldn't reach past the ear to grasp the cabinet edge.

great little multi purpose clamp
After hearing and reading about these clamps I began to look around for a pair to try out.When I first picked one up I grew skeptical because of their lightweight.It turns out this first impression was unfounded.These clamps really speed up basic clamping time.For clamping down a straight edge or holding two cabinets together during installation, you just can't beat these clamps.You can't draw together difficult joints, mind you, but they excel at one handed clamping tasks while your other hand is holding your afternoons work together.Their light weight and relatively small size make them easily stowable in shop apron or tool belt. I couldn't have said it better
I was going to write a review of the Bessey cabinet clamps but I read what Alan Freedman said and I couldn't have said it better.So, to use Alan Freedman's comments (which I totally agree with)....

WHY YOU SHOULD BUY THEM: These are best clamps for squaring up a cabinet side/face frame ever. They work great standing up on a workbench. I consider them an invaluable part of my woodworking shop.

THE OTHER STUFF: These are not the end all. I still use my jorgenson clamps a lot. They apply point pressure (versus even pressure across the face of the clamp) which can be useful for truing up some jobs and clamping some irregular surfaces. The Bessey clamps are pretty heavy which can be ackward when clamping with one hand (and using the other hand to hold the project together).

THE BOTTOM LINE: You can never have too many clamps. I would not have less than a pair of the Bessey clamps in my shop. Four are better.

these are great clamps
My only complaint is the price, but you get your money's worth. I plan to pick up a few more of these sometime in the future. The faces give you square pressure against the stock, which I find really important for edge gluing and cabinet building. I keep a little pressure on the heads for storage. The one time I did not I rotated the clamp head vertically and the clamp body slid down pinching my hand on the way down.

The lowest price, but handiest one of the bunch
These clamps are relatively small, but that is what makes them so handy. The size belies the power. Strong enough for most tasks. Inexpensive enough to have several. It is intuitive to use. The clamp and release mechanism are goof proof. I like them very much, and are one of my favorites for many purposes.
If you are into Bessey clamps, these make a nice addition to your arsenal, or if you just need some light duty, general purpose clamps, these fill the bill nicely. Highly recommended.

These little suckers are great!!!
I own a wide variety of Bessey clamps, pipe clamps, quickgrip clamps and specialty clamps.As a firm believer in the maxim that "you can never have too many clamps" I bought 5 of these last year.I am so impressed by their ease of use that they are the ones that I reach for most often.Needless to say, they won't be of much help in gluing up panels (unless you're trying to improve the allignment at the ends of the boards).I use these clamps at the drill press, band saw, router table and table saw to secure temporary fences.I also use them any time that I mount a tool (hollow-chisel mortiser; grinder) or my dovetail jig on my workmate.I use them when dry-fitting face frames to hold the pieces in alignment and anywhere that I need a small clamp with good holding power.They also excel in clamping laminations and I've used them for that enough that I realized that I should have bought more. ... A wonderful piece of equipment.
This clamp is the best i've ever used....but its also about the most expensive i've used too. Its great for picture frames, mortise/tennon doors and panels and I've even seen it used to clamp an intricate piece of multiangled laminated butcherblock. Its easy to use, but you have to remember to measure corner to corner to ensure the project is square..it won't do that for you. ... Read more
