Great addition to toolbox
We recently moved from an older home where the walls were so solid you could hang pictures anywhere. our new place is new though and as seems to be the usual case uses a very thin kind of plaster board. After unsuccessfully trying to hang some pictures and having them fall down I got this and hey presto, everything is now up and most importantly staying up. Quiet, Easy to Operate, But Not Dependable
Positives:

1) Quiet.I could keep a conversation with my son while mowing.
2) Easy to Operate.Just pull the handle and push.Anybody can operate this mower.
3) Easy to Transport.It is real easy to pull the handle off and put it in the trunk of a car if you need to take it anywhere.
4) No gas/oil.Just plug in the electric cord and go.Great for smaller yards, but when you start getting a distance from the outlet, cord management can become infuriating.

Negatives:

1)Here is the BIG ONE!!!As a kid, my father only owned two mowers.The first lasted over ten years and the second is still going.Not only did these mow his good sized yard on a regular basis, but it also supported several summers where I made a good chunk of change mowing the neighbor's yards.This one by Black & Decker lasted two years and never turned on again.I would expect lawn mowers to last longer and this one barely made it past the warranty.The saddest thing is that this mower never got used much... I can only imagine what it would do if I was mowing more than my little lawn.This is what causes me to rank the mower very low.
2)Corners.If you have grass in a corner, this lawn mower isn't going to get it at all.Use a weed wacker.I suspect there is a lot of wasted space under the hood of this mower.
3)The Cord.What a pain, especially when you are mowing near the outlet.Be careful not to run over it.I'm not going to fault Black & Decker, but electric mowers in general, for the difficulties a cord can cause.

Will I buy an electric mower again?Not for a large yard, but maybe for something less than 500 square feet.It is pretty nice to not have to put gas in it.

Would I buy this brand again?Well, Black & Decker is normally a name I can trust but they really struck out on this one for me.I was equally disappointed by the lack of help from their customer support.So, unfortunately, the answer is no.

Great Mower - Short Life!
I'm not going to talk about the cord dance because that's an issue for gas vs electric mower. This reviewisabout the MM575 mower and it is great! This mower has plowed through really tall thick grass and even some weeds that have gotten woody. Ipurchased it a mere 2 years ago (just out of the warranty period)and I went to plug it in last night and it would not start - completely dead. I would like to purchase another but I'm cautious about the life expectancy. It is easy to assemble -just add the handle, no tools required! And one touch of a lever is all it takes to raise or lower all 4 wheels.

Worth every penny!
My older brother used to tease me about how I could never pull start a gas powered lawn mower to save my life. I sure yanked my arm out trying, though.
This mower is eaaaasssy to start. Flip up the start bar and hold it in place. So now even I can mow the lawn on my small yard.
One thing the mower does do if you set it to mulch and you haven't mowed in a while or the grass is wet, it will slow down or *burp* grass clippings out.
I have yet to have a big problem otherwise with this mower. If gas powered ones are too heavy for you to push, this light mower is great! Especially for us ladies! ^_^
Yes, you do have to do the 'cord dance'. But for the price of the mower, and no oil or gas fumes to worry about, it pays for itself in the long run. It is definately quieter than other mowers, and I have yet to replace the blade.
I would also reccomend the electric trimmer by Black and Decker. I have this, as well, and it has a self feeding spool with no bumping! It took a year for the plastic string to run out. Cool, huh?

Don't Let The HP Fool You
I have been using this router for 2 full years now.I use it daily in a large router table for anything from routing mouldings to doing raised panel doors.Don't let the 1 3/4 hp fool you.It has all the power of the big guys.I have routed everything from soft pine to hardwoods such as oak and birch and have never had a problem with the machine bogging down.The easy finger latch makes it quite easy to change the bits.All of the bits I own are 1/4 shaft so the collet size is fine for me.If I need to move up to 1/2" shafts then I will consider a bigger router.The plunge action in the router is superb.It is smooth and the spring action is very durable.The only drawback to the router is that it doesn't have a micro-adjustment on it like most routers in it's category.This makes it especially hard to use on a router table (although the experts say you shouldn't use a plunge on a table).But this tool has proven itself time and time again and I do not regret purchasing it.

Cheaply Made
This item is made of plastic. After about 10 mins the part that connects to the machine striped. Would be a great idea if it was not made so cheaply. Don't get this item.

Worth it's weight in gold!
I ordered this product in early September planning ahead for the season, and received it the end of October because it was backordered.Now I know why!It works great! It's a very powerful vacuum and when used with the Kangaroo container it's perfect for what I need!I bought a Sears push mulcher that looks like a lawn mower but is a dedicated mulcher and it stinks compared to this!!!Not only is this attachment at least 2-3 times more powerful, but because it's portable, it's a lot easier to use than lugging around a lawn mower mulcher.I can easily carry it to my patio, or anywhere else I need to do some spot pick-ups.Unfortunately, though, when leaves fall, twigs fall along with them, and it's probably not the best thing for the motor, so try to avoid them.I use the mulched leaves around my flower beds and delicate plants when I'm finished.Get it!You'll love how well it works.Word of caution:By the time this attachment came, I had misplaced my blower instructions, so I ended up taking it apart to put on the attachment, until I realized there's a button above the power button which was a simple release.Live and learn...Great product!

Zipper broke within a few weeks of use
I think this is where Black & Decker get you.The zipper for the bag broke within a few weeks of use.The blower seems to work fine, but the quality of the bag is pathetic.

For those of you who have this terrible product I need not say anymore; you know how bad it is by now.For those of you thinking about buying a B&D leaf blower system of any king, don't. They con you into buying their system, and then force you into buy a new bag every year by providing a sub par bag to go with it.The zipper is made of nylon and will break after the first few times you use it.The bag is cloth and will rip or even blow open shortly after the zipper breaks. It should be made of nylon fiber with a reinforced zipper. I would rather pick the darn leafs up by hand than be frustrated with this inferior product

Less than satisfied
I was so excited about my Black&Decker Mouse. I thought I'd be able to tackle my difficult sanding jobs. I thought it would do more than it does, and I'm dissapointed that there's only 3 grades of sandpaper.It was billed as a sander and it's more of a fine tuner or a polisher/scrubber.It doesn't sand very well. They need a wider range of grit for a lesser cost, such as 50 grit.I feel like I was ripped off.It's a glorified polisher that can get into the nooks.

Great For Small Projects
The Black and Decker "Mouse Sander" is a wonderfully easy to use tool.Lightweight and easy to hold it is a shame that the pads need to be replaced often while working on a particular item, so you wouldn't want to use it on a big job.ie: bureau,chest,etc..I have used mine to do large jobs when no other options were available and by the time you buy replacement pads in the right grit to complete the project,you could have had a nice down payment on a larger and more efficient sander.Once I completed my first table,I searched around looking for other projects simply to use this tool.I recommend it to first time refinishers.

THE WAY IT SHOULD BE
Ive had gas powered trimmers in the past...but no longer..And the pre wound replacement spools are great...although a little pricey they cut down on aggrevation..and make the job much easier

Don't find yourself strung out.
So what did you want to know? I started my trimming carrier with the Black & Decker Automatic Feed Spool (AFS). It is just plug and go. I prefer my trimmer string to come from Black & Decker. This way I will not come unraveled trying to use some cheap substitute. The spools last longer than expected. Good Dricken Heat
When I first picked up this heater I had serious doubts due to its size. I already had a quartz heater and it was ok it brought the room to a cool in stead of freezing but with this one working along side it now the room is toasty the room is like 15' by 12' basement apart. So u can imagine how it was with out it aside from it being in the middle of the coldest winter in like 100 years.

Works Great
When I first started looking for a replacement blade for my Black & Decker Edgehog, I soon found it was easier said than done.I went ahead and ordered the replacement blade from Amazon, and I have been pleased.It works as well as ever.

Wrong blade?? Different holes --
I ended up having the same problem as the other reviewer had with the odd shaped shaft not fitting the round hole of the blade.Spoke with a salesman at a Black and Decker store and recommended using a screwdriver to knock off the piece that is odd shaped(takes a little time) but slides off fairly easily.Use the enclosed washers with the blade (one on each side) and it should work just fine without slipping... Good luck..

Picture is Worth a Thousand Words
I own a Black & Decker LE750 Edgehog. Mine is Green with a black handle. The blade shown in the picture is not the same one I received. The part number is the same (EB007) but the center hole cutout is not the same as depicted. I received a center round hole cut whereas the picture shows a polygonal type hole. That's the blade I really needed. Even if you eliminated the washer with the built in polygonal template you still ended up with a driveshaft with 2 sides flatten. As I mentioned the center hole in the blade is round. Still, even putting the supplied washers on both sides of the blade, the blade will eventually come loose the moment it makes contact with a stone or concrete. Now that I own 4 of them in order to get the free shipping I now have a lifetime of edger blades that I will constantly be tightening. Definitely buy spares
Yes, the downside is that you will go through these more quickly than some.I burn through about 3 to 4 per season for a moderately sized lawn.

The upside is that this somewhat slender string will not kill and maim when you (inevitably) get your (or Fido's) foot or ankle in harm's way.It will sting, of course, but not slash and draw blood as most other gages do.In addition, the spool is pretty cheap, easily replaced, and available everywhere (no small point when you suddenly run out late on a Sunday afternoon).

Buy some spares...
You'll need a few spare spools because you'll go through the line quickly.I've found that if I hit anything that isn't grass - rocks, sprinkler heads, plastic edging - the line will break and you'll have to "bump" out a few more inches. ... Read more

Great router, best choice I could have made
I was looking for a simple router that could do amateur routing. I wasn't looking for the expensive industrial 1/2" bit router. This router is the best value that I could have chosen, and I have been very impressed by it. The soft start and variable speed features are very helpful while the depth stop is amazing. You can stop it at any depth and pretty easily change to another depth with a built in ruler. One of the only problems I have found so far is that the line of sight can be bad when the router is down and unless you have good lighting, it is hard to see the bit to line things up sometimes. Another of the minor problems is that it is a bit heavy, but this only gets in the way when putting it into a router table, which you do not need to remove from the table to remove the bit. In another review, the person said that the router did not have attachments, but Black and Decker now makes the edge guide that works really well with the router. All in all, this is a great router and a great price for everything you get.

If you are never going to be serious about woodworking....
Black and Decker is the brand for you.As a neophyte woodworker without any guidance, I thought this was a solid brand.After mowing through various B&D drills, sanders, etc, I have seen the light.These are hobbyist tools.Unlike my other B&D purchases, I had time to return this one before I found out how lacking it was.This router couldn't spin any decent sized bits and bogged down easily on hardwoods.I would have to do miniscule increments on every cut.On top of that, the plunge mechanism would slip repeatedly.Returned it and bought another brand that I won't mention as this review is to warn you off this one - not sell another.

Good power and features, no attachments
This is a decently designed router. The handle is pretty comfortable, the switches work well and feel nicely designed, and the dust extraction is great. It seems to have plenty of power, and the plunge action is very smooth. However, it has a couple of fatal flaws.

First, the base is not compatible with template bushings, and no one makes a compatible baseplate, although there are a few clear acrylic ones that you could drill your own holes in (patwarner.com and Lee Valley sell them). This may not seem important initially, but if you continue to work with the router, you will almost definitely want this ability.

Second, most other common attachments aren't compatible either, like the Jasper circle jig or an edge guide. Most router companies make their own edge guides, but not B&D. And all the common aftermarket guides aren't compatible either (for example, the Microfence). This won't be too much of an issue if you use this router in a table though, which I didn't do.

Third, it only has a 1/4 inch collet. It seems to have enough power for a 1/2 inch collet, and lots of other routers in this power class have the capability, although not necessarily at the same price.

If B&D added some compatiblity, I'd like this tool a lot more. As it is, there are much better options out there (Ryobi 180PL, Porter-Cable, Bosch, DeWalt...) ... Read more

Just thought I would share my personal experience using this product. The trimmer works well didn't experience any problems after I used it a couple of times cuts well and even. However don't expect a trimmer that can cut exceptionally thick branches! As stated can cut up to 3/8" I would say probably that or a little less. For the reviewer that experienced severe problems... overheating and burn out, I suspect you may have used an extension cord that was not the correct gauge for the instrument... that can and would cause what you experienced with your machine. Personally would recommend this for the average gardener that just wants to keep hedges and shrubs in a neat manner.

Just in process of trimming small shrubs and hedges with max of 1\8" branches, this thing suddenly started smoking and litteraly popped loudly and threw almost every circuit in the panel somehow.......

In the last year, I have had a B&D jig saw, a B&D router and a B&D kitchen mixer do the exact same thing......

Why can B&D make awesome drills, but everyone one of their other products that require a cord only survive a limited time with light use...Maybe it's bad Karma.....I love their drills though, but I think I'll avoid anything else B&D related like the plague before I go up in flames with it too.....
