great power...short life
I am a framing carpenter and need a good, long lasting saw.This saw has great power, sturdy construction, but i've only had it a year and it already doesn't work.I pull the trigger, but nothing.I haven't been rough on it.I'm hoping it's just the brushes, bt still...only one year?I have much less expensive Skill saw that was nearly ten years old before the brushes needed replacement.Can't say that i am extremely pleased with this saw.

I need to rely on a good saw and like all of my other Bosch products this saw has never let me down.You will get a life time of work out of this workhorse.Don't hesitate, buy this great saw...Bosch reputation alone is enough reason!

Rear Handle version has better balance
The loose blade is a definite shipping hazard, both to the saw which sustained more than cosmetic damage and to the unsuspecting cartoon opener as the blade was protruding through the side of the Bosch box.Having decided to probably send this saw back, I bought the rear handle version of it from a local hardware (after checking it for loose blade damage).I tried both and like the rear handle better, it has better balance and is easier on the wrist, follows your line better.Both saws have a tendancy to rotate with the motor when you first start them up, so keep the blade away from your work. ... Great but no attachments!
This is one fine tool, but what are those people at Bosch thinking.For the amount you pay, they could at least throw in a few attachments.I bought this because I wanted the versatility of Temperature control.It would be even more versatile with the attachments which seem to be hard to find.

Very Good Heat Gun
Gun works very well.It would be better if you could get the accessories as the different applications require different heat.I have not been able to locate any of access. the Spreader(HG010), Deflector (HG020), Reflector(HG030) or the concentrator(HG040).IF you can, I think you will be satisfied.

Controllable heat gun
The Bosch 1943 is a pleasure to use.Normally, the temperature of the output of heat guns is a guess resulting in over or underheating.This gun has LEDs that indicate the heat of the output.The gun reaches fulltemperature in approximately 60 seconds and cools in approximately 10seconds.The air volume is appropriate for most tasks but the option ofhigher volume would be appreciated.The gun is very quiet andlight.

Functional &lightweight, the only light you'll ever use!
This Bosch worklight has been so usefull in my gargage, that I purchased 3 additional ones for the rest of my family. Adequate lighting for your garage, attic, or backyard is provided when needed. Unlike a Halogen light,a flourescent bulb produces very little heat and will not burn you when touching the housing.

I have several Bosch Cordless tools and I like the ability to use any Bosch battery from 7.2-14.4V on my light. I'm currently using a 13.2volt battery with this light and it averages about 2.5 hours before I need a recharge.

The only reason I did not give it 5 stars, is because of the bulb brightness. The light has a 13W flourescent bulb, which is a little on the low side on lumens output(900 lumens initial, 810 average) for my taste. It currently has a 2700K Color Temp, which is a little too warm for me. I would prefer going to a 3500K or 4100 K temp and changing the bulb out to an 18W. I believe the 13W to 18W bulb upgrade is feasible with a little light reflector modification, although I have not performed this yet. The 18W bulb would offer 1250 initial lumens,and 1125 average, a 38% increase from the 13W bulb.

Aside from the above comments, this light performs very well. The housing is injection molded plastic and features a glass cover and rubber gasket making it water resistant. The black grill swivels out of the way for cleaning the glass. The rubber foam grip is comfortable and ensures the light will not move around. Underneath the light, the 2" plastic knob allows the light to rotate up to 100 degrees. With a 13.2V battery the light weighs in at approximately 3.6lbs.

If you have any Bosch tools, consider adding this one to your collection. Simply plug in a Bosch Battery and go. Otherwise you will need to purchase a Bosch battery and charger which will add another $100 to the price of this tool. Overall, I give this light 4 stars out of 5. ... Read more

Nice right angle drill for tight spaces, notheavy duty
I got this drill because I needed to drill into a very tight space, and this drill had the short clearance I needed.It works great for drilling or screwing things down in tight spaces.That's what it was designed for.

It is not a heavy duty drill.The metallic head, which contains the right angled gearbox, gets hot if you drill continuously for long periods. When my general purpose Black and Decker drill broke one day, I started using this drill for a bunch of stuff, like sanding and grinding, as well as drilling, and boy, did the gearbox get hot, almost too hot to touch.

The paddle trigger is also not one of my favorites.Even now, it still feels awkward.The trigger was designedfor safety, not functionality.To keep you from accidentally starting the drill, you have to push/slide the paddle downward before it will unlock and depress and start the drill.All I can say is that this mechanism sure works great at making it difficult to start the drill, whether accidentally or deliberately!!!

There is a knob to adjust the maximum speed of the drill, which is a nice feature to keep you from accidentally overdrilling/ovescrewing something.Especially since the paddle trigger is a bit hard to use, it helps to set a limit on the maximum speed that you start off with.

As a tool for fine craftwork, well, it's a bit too heavy for fine detail work -you need big hands to grip the thing comfortably.A Dremel tool it's not.For heavier duty projects, I find that my RotoZip high speed drill works better because it's lighter and more maneuverable than this Bosch drill, and faster and more powerful at cutting and trimming larger projects.

But,if you need a drill for tight spaces, this one works just fine.

A Geat Little Right Angle Drill
I have been looking at small right angle drills for along time and couldn't decide on which one to buy. I decided on the Bosch because I have other Bosch tools and they have served me well. I am glad I went with this drill it has great power for driveing 3" screws in areas that a regular screwgun or cordless drill can't get into. I used it to drill holes in stud walls for electical and copper pipe useing 1" and 1 1/4" spade bits with plenty of power. This drill isn't meant to be a hole hawg for heavy duty plumbing or electircal jobs, but for light to medium duty jobs it's a great drill for areas that can't be reached with a regular drill.

Mighty Mite Right Angle Drill
I've wanted one of these drills for over a year, but couldn't bring myself to spend the money. But, I broke down during the Bosch tool sale last summer and got one. Glad I did too, because there's no limit to what it will do. I've used it to install plumbing and wiring and duct work in places where no other drill or driver will fit. I drilled one inch holes for water line with a spade bit through a double plate between floors in no time. My 8 amp Porter-Cable right angle drill would never go into the places this little Bosch drill does. It's great for installing and removing gutter hangers, too. I love the dial speed control, especially for running screws. Don't overload this tool. With 3.8 amps, it has medium power, but the size and shape make up for that. Bosch clic change system is fortunately a standard
The Bosch clic change also has a very intuitive method of working. Inserting a new bit into it is easy. The bit goes in and in the same movement, you continue right over the bit to the head of the clic change system, seating it down and locking it. When you want to remove the bit, you pull the head outwards, and once again in a single stroke remove the bit at the same time. Leave it to Bosch to make on of the best designed systems.
The good thing about the Bosch is that it accepts 1/4" head bits from a lot of different manufacturers available locally.
I also bought the Bosch 27 piece clic change set with this one, and then discovered the wide array of 1/4" devices with the same head configuration.
All in all, the Bosch holds the bit very true and won't slip out. Yet the bits come on and off easily. Very nice unit, highly recommended.

Best Quick-Change adapter on the market
I purchased a different kit than the one listed.Mine had the Quick-Change adapter with 7 hex shank high-speed drill bits.The drill bits are of excellent quality as is the click adapter.All you have to do to insert a bit is push it in.To remove it simply pull back on the padded collar of the adapter and the bit pops out.Unlike Sears, Dewalt, Snapy and other quick adapters that I have used you do not have to pull back on the adapter and pull the bit out at the same time. The Bosch just pops it out.What impressed me the most however was the lack of run out that the Bosh has.The wobble that is present at the driver bit or drill bit tip that anyone who has ever used any sort of quick change hex shank adapter is much less noticeable with the Bosch than any I have ever used.I am a solid surface/laminate fabricator and much of my time is spent installing counter tops and kitchen cabinets where a drill is indispensable for drilling as well as driving.I have 3 of the Bosch Quick-Change adapters one in a Makita, one in a Dewalt, and one in a Metabo cordless drill.I would not be without one of these Bosch adapters on the work site.By the way I also use a Dewalt 7.2v screwdriver which is a pleasure to use and comes with a hex shank quick adapter mounted to the drill shaft instead of a chuck and it has more run-out than these Bosch adapters.

Wish I would have bought it sooner
As a DIY'er, I was hesitant to spend this kind of money for something that I was just going to use for home improvement projects.However, after a year of struggling with trying to dig in my rock-hard clay soil, I finally gave in.I haven't been disappointed!

Since this is the only demo-hammer I've used, I really can't compare it to anything else, but I'm very happy with the tool's performance and quality.Using this beast is a little bit of a workout, but I'm sure it's much easier than trying to handle a full sized jack - especially if you have any horizontal hammering to do.So far I've used it to dig out a good sized footer for a retaining wall, trench for drainage/irrigation lines, demolish a BBQ island built from concrete block, and break out a small area of 4" concrete sidewalk.What a timesaver!

de-plane de-plane!
any time you have a quick plane job, this is the tool.Several times a week I have a door that just needs a little of the top or side.you can put the bag on the planer bring it into the house plane the top or side and you are done with the job.obvisously some door have to come off the hindges, and this will still save time over cords.however, if you have a need for alot of planeing either have several batteries on hand or use your electrical one.I bought this planer in a kit which is the best way to go.
