Very Good
Very solid, does what it claims.
I've had one since '98 with NO issues.

Not Universal
They advertise it as being universal but I have a new skil 10 table saw and it fell thru the opening in the stand.
I had to buy a 3/4 plywood to make a base for it to fit, but I like the concept of the stand. They should note the opening size for the base but they don't and I had to buy it then find out later.

Ripper's last stand
I am a trim carpenter and need to move my stuff around a lot.Over the years, I have tried several job site table saw arrangments ranging from working on my knees on the floor to various cobbled up home made rigs, to a Delta in a Rouseau stand (which was quite nice) But I will now quit looking for a better way!This stand is well worth the price.It has to be the quickest of any I have ever seen to set up.Quicker and easier than the Rouseau You just squeeze the handles and it opens up and locks. You set the saw on and you are in business.Just as quick to take down. It is great for moving from room to room if you need to. It's like having a contractors' saw that you can pick up and run with. The construction is bomb proof, and the saw is rock steady to work on. There is slight lateral movement if you grab the saw and shake it, but in use, I never notice any movement. It is so nice, that I am selling a contractor's saw thatI have in my shop at home, as the Bosch is a nicer saw and this stand just makes it even more convienant to use. Recip saw
After I got this saw, I no longer use my corded Dewalt saw.I have kept it, mainly because the dewalt was the first tool I every bought.The bosch has plenty of power and a long battery life.It works as well as my corded saw.

The Best Of the Cordless Recip Saws
I got mine when Bosch first ran their free tool promo a few years back and it's been one of my favorite tools. No cords, no hassles. It has a good runtime and has plenty of power. The toolless blade change is great and the dual stroke is nice for when you need to be more/less aggessive. With two batteries and a one hour charger, you won't run out of power. It may never replace a corded recip saw for extreme use, but a corded saw will never be as handy as this saw

what a mistake
I'm a die-hard Bosch fan, have almost every tool they make. I was so disapointed in this saw. Two issues, first the case, It arived damaged, the plastic case it comes in is very thin plastic and the tools orbital switch fatigued then finally broke thought the lid. I thought it was a fluke. They re-shipped, newer one same thing!! the orbital switch had been rubbing the case since it left the factory. The saw itself had several cosmetic blemishes, someone somewhere (QC maybe) had noticed them and circled them with a grease pencil, but decided to ship out anyway!! Also saw speed selector is the thinnest of plastic and can be moved way past the housing of the handle. The blade holder dosnt completely clear the body of the saw on the out stroke so blade change is a bit awkward and finally the varible speed kicks in only after you pull the trigger in all the way, THEN release it slowly to a desired speed - not slow from the start!!?? Whats up with that? Both saws same problems. Oh yeah did I mention it weighs about what a concrete block does.I love Bosch but steer clear of this one. I bought a Milwaukee orbital and its golden. detachable cord, the METAL case hold the tool with the blade on, its made in the USA and its cheaper!! I just wish it was blue!

Wouldn't stand up to what I had to do
Before I bought my Milwaukee, I tried this one. The first one had a faulty foot adjusting mechanism. The second one broke where the blade fits into the chuck.
I'm tearing down an old house, so the tools I use get a workout, but my Milwaukee hasn't failed,and I've used it ten times more than I did both Bosches.

If you don't buy the Milwaukee , buy this
My favorite saws are the Milwaukee super sawzalls with orbital action. This saw runs a very close second . It has enough power for any job you throw at it. What I like even better is that it has a very effective counter balance. Some saws that are counter balanced have more vibration than other saws that don't. Not so with this big tool. It is very well engineered as we would expect from Bosch. The Only thing I like better on the Milwaukee is that it's physically smaller and it feels a little tighter. It cuts a tad faster. For me it was the logical choice.For you it may be different. In any case this saw cuts circles around all other competitors includingthe PC tiger saws and the new Hitachi swing blade saw. Bosch recently introduced routers that it claims have the highest power-to-weight ratio inthe industry. We believe them. The 1618B is a member of Bosch's new Magnesium line.This router features a stout 11-amp, 1-3/4-horsepower motor coupled with anall-magnesium base and housing. The result is a lightweight, well-balanced, andsmooth-operating machine that offers fast results in demanding applications. TheD-handle provides excellent control--especially when reaching and turning on andoff--and the auxiliary handle reverses, which is handy.

Bosch engineers are very proud of what they call the "precision centering system," whichmakes the router bit track at true center. It's an important feature for multiple-passapplications like jig cutting, and fine woodworkers will particularly appreciate it. Ease ofheight adjustment is a way of measuring quality in routers, and Bosch has come up with asystem that works as well as any we've tested. A large flip lever releases the motor foradjusting. Fine Machinery
I got this little gem earlier this year to replace an old Craftsman antique that still "works."I didn't get a chance to use it 'til last week making some cabinet doors.It's like the difference between driving an old used car (it gets you there) and a new BMW (it also gets you there, but the experience is rather different).I am impressed with the 1618 and its oodles of power and smoothness.I specifically wanted a D handle and am glad I specified this particular unit.I recommend it.

Excellent Router
This is a quality built router.I've used it for many different applications.One nice feature is that the base edge (all 360 degrees) is dimensionally constant in relation to the bit.This produces accurate work when you use a fence or a "clamp & tool" guide.Of all the routers I have used, this one ranks among the top in quality.It has plenty of power unless you are using shaper sized router bits.Then you may opt for a larger model.The microfine depth adjustment is another great feature along with the resettable indicator ring.I would buy this router again and have no complaints.

SMOOTH!!
This is the best router this size I have ever owned.In my shop I use lots of routers for specific jobs ans have tried lots of brands.This 1 3/4 HP router is hands down the best I have used.It's quiet, smooth, and very easy to control thanks to the D-handle design.It produces extra smooth cuts in all woods with many different types of router bits.As I said, I have tried many different brands (Porter-Cable, Dewalt, Ryobi, Craftsman) with only the Porter Cable 690 even coming close in terms of quality.It costs a little more than a PC but, as in most things, you get what you pay for. ... The BEST sidewinder saw?
I bought this saw 8 years ago when it was sold as a SKIL.It's exactly the same saw, but now under BOSCH name.It's got 50 degrees bevel, aluminum plate shoe, a powerful motor, solid adjustments, a good cord andall that, but the features that make it irreplacable for me are:The SIGHTLINE: you can really see the blade well from the left side of the guard.There's a clear sightline there.Neither the Makita, the Dewalt or the hotnew Milwaukee have this clear view from the left.This means I can cutfrom any position and get accuracy.If I can't see the blade, nothing elsematters!

-Auxillary Blade lift on left side of guard.This second liftlever allows me to lift the guard without putting my hand near the blade. The regular lever is good as well.

-Blade wrench on board.Soundstrivial, but every time I change the blade, I'm glad it's there. It's likethe utility of tooless chucks etc.Convenience = flow.

Now for the minorcomplaints.Wish I had the electric brake model.The shoe is good, butcould be a little thicker for those occasional falls. The blade guardcatches on the wood more often than it should, neccesitating the handy liftlever more. And I suppose that having the handle raise up on shallow cuts(like most saws) could be improved, although I usually keep the blade setat full depth.Dewalt and Milwaukee HAVE got that one solved with theirspecial features, to be sure.

This saw is light, strong, has held up wellfor years and yet with it's great sightlines allows for precision work. Inever want to use anyone else's saw on a site and I'm not sure I wouldtrade it even for that hot new Milwaukee!An excellent pro saw. ... Read more

No other source for belts.
Like the other reveiwers I have a problem with the durability of the belts. I burn through quite a few of these, we own 3 of these sanders, they are the best thing for touching up coped joints. Love the sander don't like the belts.
HEY BOSCH are you listening-

Belts are designed for light duty only
I have burned up all of the belts that came with the sander in just one day.I have used the sander at work to grind off flashing from polymer concrete castings (similar material to a cultured marble counter top.)I was able to get about 15 minutes out of each belt before they split and had to be discarded.

I don't recommend them for industrial use.They may be good for light duty sanding of wood and other soft materials but either way, the price is way too much for an expendable item.

these belts work OK when they work but of the first 6-8 I used, two broke as soon as I turned on the machine. If I could find another source, I would probably switch but so far I can't find this size belt in my town. ... Read more
