good for short-spurt uses, else dims too quickly
I got this at a local Fry's Electronics for $12.99.Very bright initially.I thought since it's rated for 100 per set of batteries, it'd be a great little light for 1 or 2 hour continous usages.Unfortunately it dims rather quickly, say after 20 minutes or so and its no brighter than a Maglite solitaire.I did a search on the internet, and here's a very thorough review, including graphs of voltage vs time:

I wish I had read this review before I purchsed the light.If you want long continuous run times, it's best to stick with LED flashlights that use larger batteries.The little N cells used by the V2 is not meant for that.

Not satisfied
I would expect high quality from a pricier flashlight. Mine is difficult to use (if you can imagine a flashlight being difficult) The switch works at times and at other times you have to fumble around with it or hold the button down to keep it on!

A durable little flashlight
I was so tired of the batteries dying and replacing the bulbs in my mag light, when I found this little light in the sporting goods department of target. Even though it was a bit expensive for a flashlight this size, I thought it would be worth it if I didn't have to replace the batteries and buy bulbs every month. What I don't like about this light is the open face exposing the three LED bulbs. I modified the lens of my old maglight to fit the face. Now the lights are a little more protected from mineral oil and other medicines I work with. Another feature that I dislike is the on/off button. I have only had the light for four months and the rubber button has already worn off. I have to turn the light on and off with a pen. This light is still as bright as when I bought it, and the bright light highlights the small nicks and dings in the machinery that I work on. I still recomend this light to friends and co-workers when they even mention getting a small flashlight. Of course I do have to mention this little flashlight is $24.99. Not exactly inexpensive. ... So Small, So Bright!
Do not shine this in anyones eyes. They pack some serious light into a small package.

This light makes a very attractive and bright keychain light.The clip works great for clipping to the brim of a hat for hands free use.Very solid construction.Batteries are sold in 3 packs at the Wal*mart watch counter (fairly inexpensive).I only know this because I left it on accidently for 24 hours.

I wish that the light could be focused, which seeems to be difficult for LED flashlights.I also wish that there was a quick-release for the keychain lanyard.Would make it easier to use with the hat or free from the burden of a couple of pounds of keys.:)

The button switch of the key chain light
This little flashlight is gorgeous and is almost all I could want in a tiny flashlight. But I have it on my key ring in my pocket and the little rubber button switch comes off and eventually gets lost. It could have a better switch.

What A Bright Idea!
I thought that I might use this as a makeshift AF illuminator for some of my point and shoot cameras that have trouble focusing in low-light situations. To be honest I haven't tried it for that purpose yet. However, this is obviously a stylish, compact, and powerful item of quality-build and I give it 5 stars based on those characteristics. The only complaint might be that the on-off button is somewhat difficult to "mash" on and off; but all in all this key chain light is well worth having. I give it Five stars! ... Read more

Fantastic!
I am an Intensive Care Registered Nurse and this flashlight is
an answer to an ICU nurses prayer. It is lightweight, fits in a scrub top pocket, is of excellent quality, batteries last fifty hours or more and the light is BRIGHT! It is actually bright enough to cause a pupil reaction in a well lit room and is perfect for performing neuro checks. If you are considering a pen light, this is the finest in the land.

DOES need Batteries
Excellent light, I keep one in my car at all times.BTW, pay no attention to reviewer telling you that LEDs don't need batteries, this person is clearly a grade-A moron.Perhaps their flashlight runs on stupidity, I don't know but, for the record, it takes a 3V Lithium battery (BR435).

Love it!
The Coast LL7526 V16 White Pen Light has been one of my favorite new purchases.It does have two batteries that are Li/3V that can apparently be purchased through jewelry stores and even Walmart.The light is LED which is supposed to last 100,000 hours.I am a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and use this light to clip onto a wooden tongue blade to inspect mouths and throats of little ones.It frees up my second hand to be able to hold the child's head more easily if needed, and because it's so small, its seems to be less threatening to the children.I plan to purchase a couple more, so that I always have one in my pocket! ... Not what I was looking for.
This is a tough one to review. As a map light it is a poor choice. The light is a square of red light with A HOLE IN THE MIDDLE. That is right. The light is a chiclet like square of red light with a large dark hole in the middle. The only reason it isn't one star is that i think the entire thing is really an emergency beacon. The slow flash and faster flashing sequence work and are very bright. But even with the fiber optic wand the light at the end is not a uniform pattern and is a poor choice to read by. I think it is nice in an emergency to attract attention. But i wanted a map light that was red and small in weight and the light is just too weird in pattern to be acceptable. ... Read more

Maglight anyone?
I bought mine at a day after thanksgiving sale. Ya...I woke up and got in line for the 6am opening. Saw this item on sale (white led) and my cousin said it was a great deal. Bought it and loved it ever since. Gave my mini mag to my daughter to play with. Bought the camping version for my girlfriend since the recent heavy storms blacked out her neighborhood so she used mine that night. What a lifesaver. Also order 2 more turbo torches too.

What kind of battery does it take?
Coast has an unfortunate habit of not including battery type in their product descriptions, perhaps because their products don't take standard AA, AAA, C or D cells. Based upon another description, this one apparently takes N cells. An earlier version that I bought took two C123 (camera) batteries.

The blue lights are beautiful, but not beautiful enough to justify the additional cost and trouble.

Nice Bright Light Falls Short on Quality
I purchased this light for my son when camping with the BSA.On his first trip the rubber "On/Off" switch fell out and was lost.The nylon case faired no better and is now useless.He has taken many lights with him on camping trips.
