5-0 out of 5 stars No need for cords, unless you want them...
I have the entire 24V kit, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.I like the AC/DC converter feature, so that when the uncommon dead battery situation happens, you're not left without power.DeWalt:How about a 24V jig saw, plate jointer, miter saw and handheld planer?I'll buy them whenever they come out.

5-0 out of 5 stars Top Quality Design--- A Winner !
Top quality and features -- DeWalt has a winner here.
Perfect balance(unusual for battery saw):one finger behind the trigger, light weight magnesium construction, arbor lock, electric brake, ambidextrous trigger release(good for us lefties), full 2x cutting depth with 6 1/2" blade, powerful with 24 volts, one hour recharge. Best battery saw I've seen.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice Tool
I am a long time contractor and worm drive purist so I was a bit skeptical about a cordlees saw. That is until I puchased this one! Many of my jobs are in country settings and electricity is often delayed so we rely on generators to supply power initially. It is annoying and time consuming to fire up a generator just to make one or two cuts. This saw is a great labor saver and is an excellent addition to my tool cache. The only major improvement I would like to see would be to reverse sides with the blade (place it on the left). ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars this is great
i could think of a better design.. i.e. they could have made this unit with a "lantern" feature like the flashlights that you use for camping.. it would have made this unit especially useful since it was meant to be used in tight areas i.e. where there's a lot of piping, in subfloors, attics, etc...

also, there's no feature that allows it to focus ... but then again... the more bells and whistles .. the more screws there are to break and that itself hampers durability... besides... i dont think a focus feature would be very useful anyway......

but having said that... the 18v of power didnt go completely to waste.. this unit still gets the job done.. the neck not only does a good job of angling but it doubles as a handle.. and lastly.. i dont think the guys at Dewalt intended for this unit to be used primarily with it sitting up.. but rather that the light should be directly to it's useful angle... so in regards to that.. this light does a great job.

i got mine with the four tool kit.. i wouldnt hesistate getting another if i needed it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Don't be fooled by what DeWalt calls "flexibility"
I should say something about DeWalt that not a lot of people know. DeWalt and Black&Decker are one company. So what is behind that black and yellow casing could be Black&Decker!! ( Please don't misunderstand me, I am not saying it is; it could be-what is inside of a Lexus is a Toyota-Don't be fooled by advertising and what other people think ) Many pro. tool users will probably agree with me that DeWalt is not an industrial brand; it is premium household!

Anyway, about this light, I am very happy with the amount of light it produces and the length of the time with one charge. (I have the 14.4V)But, there is a problem. The reason why I bought this light is the problem, the flexibility. There is really no flexibility. This light will NOT be flexible as you would think it will. It will loose the balance and will fall. I used it for about a month, got tired of it and got the regular version of this light. That will do anything this "flexible" light does and saves me about 400-500% time on tiring to change the light angle.

3-0 out of 5 stars Very close, but not yet there....
Nice light output, nice run time. Like those features alot.

However, the light won't stand on the battery base. It tips over! The goose neck is not useful and it costs (...) more than the swivel head version (which is how you end up using the product).

Maybe the 14.4V or 18V have enough mass to support the goose neck, but don't bother with the 12V unit. Buy the swivel neck version. I wish I had. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Edge-to-edge joints, frame joints, corner joints, offset joints, T-joints, edge-miter joints, whatever type of biscuit joint you need, the DeWalt DW932K cordless plate joiner is a good tool to have around when your project calls for a strong, accurate joint. Offering convenience and mobility, and powered by an 18-volt motor, DeWalt's cordless plate joiner speeds through most everyday projects with ease. Its six-tooth, carbide blade makes smooth cuts in virtually any wood surface. While not as powerful as corded models, DeWalt's cordless does provide a number of features woodworkers are sure to find helpful, including special, antislippage pins which help reduce the natural tendency (found in many plate joiners) to slide to the right when making cuts. The result is better accuracy. The plate joiner also features an integral fence that adjusts to any angle from 0 to 90 degrees, preset depth stops with a maximum depth of 20 mm, and fine pinpoint rack-and-pinion adjustments. If you'd benefit from a smart, hard-working plate joiner that won't keep you tethered to a power source, then DeWalt's cordless model is for you. --Carl Thress ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Get DW682K Corded Joiner
Should have listened to John Bryer review...Corded Plate Joiner is gutless.I set up a comparision between my 18v and my brother's corded. The first biscuit (on full charge) only cut about 90% and then the blade stalled.Same thing on the second.Slowing down the feed solved the stalling problem but left me disappointed with the performance of the tool.Otherwise, the cuts were of the same high quality as the corded joiner. The portability is somewhat offset by the extra weight and the need to have a vacuum attached to ensure through dust extraction.

2-0 out of 5 stars Get a cord!
This tool has NO POWER!It's good for about 10 cuts then needs a new charge. The only reason I bought it was so that I would have a 3rd battery for my drill/saw.I typically like Dewalt cordless tools, but I would not recommend this tool.

4-0 out of 5 stars Cordless power brings a new dimension to an old favorite
As a finsh carpenter working in the booming SF world of Victorian renovation, a biscuit joiner is a must. This cordless works almost as well as my old DeWalt corded joiner. The trade off is: slightly less power and much greater weight for increased mobility.Although heavier, larger, & less powerful than the original, the mobility offered by this update wins the day. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars DeWalt jig saw/drill combo
I have never used this, but I think that a cordless jig saw would be a lot better than a cordless circular saw because; (a) the amps (not amp hours) would be a lot closer to a corded jig saw than acordless circular saw in relation to a corded one; (b)the jig saw would cut metal and; (c)the amp hours (2.4) would probably keep this baby running for a long time.I have tried a 24volt Bosch and the blade would jam fairly easily if the saw was twisted in the cut.The jig saw won't do that. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars THISSAWDEFINITELY CUTS THE MUSTARD!!!
THE DEWALT 24VOLT CORDLESS RECIPROCATING SAW CAN GET THE JOB DONE.I REALLY LIKE HOW IT HANDLES WHEN YOUR CUTTING.UNLIKE SAWS I USED IN THE PAST THIS SAW CUTS LIKE NO OTHER & ITS GOT A REAL AERODYNAMIC FEEL TO IT .THIS IS BY FAR THE ONE SAW THAT CUTS ALL...........BUY ONE YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED.....

5-0 out of 5 stars The ONLY Recip Saw to Get
If cordless is a must for you, this is THE recip saw.Tool-less design is nice.My only complaint is that DeWalt is too cheap to include 2 batteries. With all their 24V cordless, you need at least 2 batteries, and if you do a lot of work with it:3.Thus, your MINIMUM entry price is[steep].I was told by Home Depot that this tool was overkill.I disagree...longer stroke, tool-less, adj shoe. This weekend warrior has put this tool to a LOT of good use, and never felt it was too heavy or too much power. When it's dirty, sometimes the battery is difficult to remove.

5-0 out of 5 stars The ONE and ONLY ONE to own.
This is the tool folk's! If you ever had to take down a house, a room, or cut a peace off here and there...this is the tool to do it with. The power is awesome! The feel is awesome! And the weight is just perfect to hand. Evenmy wife say's "I like it!" Switching blades is as easy as one, two, three! You even have a place (under the saw) to store additional blades! Althoughyou only get one battery it's life last long enough to do even the heaviestof jobs. But a second battery would be nice. Charge time is very fasthowever! DeWALT has really out done its self with this tool. I can't waitto buy their 24V Heavy-Duty Circular Saw. Buy it, you will not be sorry...IGUARANTEE it! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect
That's all that needs to be said. Not a single flaw found in over two months of use.

5-0 out of 5 stars 24 volt drill/hammerdrill
The 24 volt cordless hammerdrill is awesome to say the least. It packs raw power for a cordless drill. It's great for drilling though wall studs, pipes and electrical work. It's also great for masonry projects too. For the rough brutal work this drill does the battery lasts a while. If you are doing any big projects and you hate dragging the cord along with you I highly recommend this drill.Hey, even after you get it and you decide you like carrying the cord you can buy the 24 volt converter and plug it in!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars A strong performing workhorse
This is another example of Dewalt's continuing excellence in cordless tools.I am a contractor and need to drill lots and lots of holes in concrete and wood to wire customer's homes.I regularly run drill bits from 1/4" right up to 3 1/2".I have been using Dewalt's 18V system along with corded drills until now.The 24V DW006K has the extra torque to utilize larger bits for longer times. The chuck is easy to use and holds the bits firmly.I would highly recommend this drill to anyone who needs commercial dependability and performance. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Lots of run time and light in weight, but a very poor chuck
I've regularly been using a venerable, brute-strong and die-hard 14.4 DeWalt drill (DW954) that has great battery life and excellent torque but also carries a lot of weight. And, after a while, you know you're hoisting an anchor, especially when driving screws overhead as with drywall. As a handyman, I'm often installing lightweight shelves, artwork, fixtures, racks, and other objects in wood, drywall and regular red brick so after a while, weight and size DO become important. So, I decided to try the 9.6v lightweight entry from DeWalt. I purchased it from a famous home center at a great price. It has great run time per charge, maintains a relatively steady speed even in harder substances, is beautifully compact and lightweight BUT has an absolutely awful chuck! Unless you're using the newer hex-shank bits, regular round shank drills will invariably spin right out of the chuck -- no matter how hard you try to tighten the chuck -- and stay stuck in the material you're drilling until you grab and twist the bit out with pliers. It happens so frequently that it quickly becomes an almost unbearable nuisance, especially when you're "on the clock" and trying to do the work quickly. I returned mine for a full refund and have already ordered a Bosch 32609 9.6v compact drill from Amazon.com. Unfortunately, I'll have yet one more battery charger to contend with but it's reviews were so good that I have to give it a serious try. If DeWalt could re-introduce their little 9.6v powerhouse with a better chuck -- say a single sleeve ratcheting type -- I dare say that it would be very hard if not impossible to beat for performance and value.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very useful drill for the homeowner, but lacks power
I've owned this drill for 9 years and used it for countless projects. The drill itself is still going strong, but the batteries are losing steam and the charger stopped working a year or so ago.The drill works well for many jobs around the house, and it's lightweight and very well balanced. However, it has always struck me as being ever so slightly underpowered. For example, I've used it for several wiring projects, and it lacks the power to drive a 1/2" spade bit through a double 2x4 top plate.Aside from that, I've been very happy with the drill, and would recommend it to any homeowner looking for a well made, light-duty cordless drill.I will probably eventually replace mine with the 12 volt model, which supposedly puts out 50 extra inch-pounds of torque and only weighs 1/2 pound more.Stay tuned!

4-0 out of 5 stars Be gentle with the gear selector
I had the origingal DW926 and I'm going to replace it with the -2 model.I can't see any difference in the pictures, so I'm going to assume this weakness is still present.

The gear selector switch on top (1 for driving, 2 for drilling) is plastic & a bit thin where it grips the metal clip that actually moves one of the ring gears in the transmission.I had mine for 4 years for occasional household use and it finally broke either from jamming it while the motor was turning or dropping it.

Also, know that while the sun and planet gears are all metal, some of the ring gears are plastic.

This thing really does have tons of torque, but if you're building a deck with philips-head screws, you can't use it all.Even square-drive screws take some weight on them for the bit to stay in the head.I use GRK Torx-head stainless steel screws for outdoor projects now & I can drive 3 inchers with my DW962 by just letting the weight of the drill keep the bit in the head. ...
