Excellent Hedge trimmer
This product performs flawlessly.The ergonomic design and gear system generates tremendous leverage.While I put in minimal effort, the hedge trimmer does the work. I also own a 30385-4 Gardena Hedge Trimmer and endorse that one also.

Dependable but...
This is my first water computer purchase. I sided with this brand and model because of previous reviews of this and varous other brands. The housing for the computer itself appears be to water-tight. A huge bonus for this Gardena is the ability to remove the computer from the unit and program it where you want and when you want. It operates on one 9-volt batttery, in which the German manufacturers claim it should last one year. I'm dubious of this. If it were equipped with a pair of double A's... sure, it probably would.
Programming the computer. The instructions are fairely straight forward, however, whoever translated the instructions into English was definitely not "well paid." Sometimes they read as though written for a pre-high school student... and very oftentimes discombobulated and inconclusive.
My predominant negatives:
1) PLASTIC fittings. German engineers usually release solid products. Not this one. Not with plastic fittings.
2) The fittings are not standard garden hose (or PVC) threads. Be aware of this. The threads on this unit are meant for Gardena hoses. Will they work on standard U.S. hoses and PVC threads? Use PVC tape and be careful not to over-torque--are my suggestions.
3) Gardena should place a FLOW ARROW on the unit. My water line comes up from the turf--not down from a sprocket. So, since nothing was annotated in the instructions, I placed the unit so that the intake went into the bottom of the unit and outflow in the top. For 20 minutes I sat pondering why the unit was allowing water to enter my lines even though it wasn't time yet. Acting on a hunch, I inverted the unit--and it worked. So, if you're reading this and you're a first time water computer purchaser, keep this in mind: while looking at the unit from the face, the BOTTOM is the intake; the top is the output.
If I needed another water computer would I purchase this one? Most likely. But, I don't think it's worth more than $50.00.

Beautiful New Lawn
I purchased this product in the early Spring to help water a newly seeded lawn which I wanted to water 4 times daily on hot days.

It was very simple to program and the flexibility of the 6 schedules allowed me to grow the best lawn I have ever had.I strongly recommend the product!

Good idea -- weak technology
We have a large heavily shaded yard that requires considerable watering over the summer.We have three of these computers running with multiple water lines feeding out from each.This is a terffic idea if you have a lot of regular watering to do -- and, it really saves you loads of time.Unfortunately, for two of the past three years we've had to replace at least two computers.In fact, we're ordering two water computers today.I just wish they built them to stand up for more than a year or two. ... cutting edge
We have used gardena garden tools for a long time,easy to use with limited tools for assembly if required. the hedge trimmer cut our trimming time in half as it cut effortlessly. we also enjoy the snap on hose attatchments. when will you make gardena power cords? i have played with this thought for quite some time, it would be great to have snap on power ends that are waterproof, never having to worry about pull aparts, or weather, i bet it would be a hit for industrial and home use.i have submitted this idea to ics, but you are the company that could make it work.

Sprinkler froze up on third use.
My wife bought me this sprinkler on Father's day - initially it worked great but on the third use the sprinkler head froze in place and would no longer rotate.No attempt to free it worked. Save your money and keep your blood pressure down and buy a different brand.

It's the BEST!
I have purchased all types of trigger sprayers throughout the years - metal, plastic, cheap, expensive, you name it and I believe this one to be the best on the market!

I have purchased several Gardena Trigger Nozzle sprayers with each one lasting for years. I was a little hesitant purchasing my first one many years ago, because I had always purchased metal trigger sprayers.But, I found that although this sprayer is made of plastic, it is very durable.This product can withstand lots of abuse such as, shooting down my dog kennel daily, getting dropped on cement, (many times) and can even withstand a periodic chewing from one of my dogs!

The sprayer adjusts easily from a fine mist to a straight stream of water, great for shooting down my kennel or leaves on the driveway. This is the only sprayer I have found that sprays a good strong straight stream.Other brands of trigger sprayers I have purchased don't provide this function nearly as well as the Gardena Trigger Nozzle.

In addition, the Quick Connect set makes it so simple to just, "pop it on" and "pop it off" in only seconds.

I highly recommend this product to everyone, it's the best!

Good for fair weather living
I've owned 3 of these units.The overall handle and feel of the productis great.The immediate ability to change the spray setting is one of theeasiest of all nozzles.This is probably attributed to the plasticconstruction and low friction.The quick-disconnect also is the majorreason for the initial purchase.This allows water to run without havingto completely unscrew the nozzle - super convenient.

However, allpraise stops here.When cold weather hits - the plastic construction ofthe handle literally breaks.The little lockout lever snapped off andeventually the actual rear handle broke.So, if you live in cool climatesand expect to drop the nozzle and hose, this is basically a disposable unit- no wonder they have the quick disconnect! ... Breaks During Real Use
I like the Gardena interconnect system and was initially pleased with this nozzle also.After about 6 months use...I dropped the thing....a large crack came across the body of it and it was no longer useable.I think dropping this on the ground is a design requirement.Since then I've purchared a metal nozzle from another vendor with 7 spray options and a lower price!

This is a great sprinkler
I've been through several cheapies and finaly purchased this one. I've had it for about a year now and really like how easy it is to use. There are several spray patterns but my favorite feature would have to be the yellow adjusters to limit the range of motion. Just point one ring to control the right movement and the other to set the left and go.

I first bought a pair of Gardena grass shears while living in Luxembourg in 1992.When I returned home in 1994 I brought them with me and have been using them to do my gardening, which is quite extensive.The shears never need sharpening and are ready to use whenever I need them.My neighbor was so impressed that she was the one who instigated my buying the new shears from Amazon (my order for two pair).I gave my neighbor one and I put the other shears on the shelf for future use. At the rate my old pair is working, my grandchildren my inherit the new shears.

OK, but pricey for what you get
I own about 20 of the 31805-4 and 31820-4 Gardena timers. All of them have worked for at least 12 months, but many have failed within 24 months. I don't like having to buy more of them, but there's really nothing else available. One additional "problem" with the 31820-4 is that when you choose longer watering times you must also choose longer periods between waterings and when you choose shorter watering times you must also choose shorter periods between waterings--in other words you can't choose short waterings with long periods between. ...
