Poor workmanship
There is no way that this long blade adaptor can be leveled with the horizontal stone on the 23-710 Sharpener.It too is a poorly designed piece of equipment.The support can not be lowered sufficiently and even then it is about 1/4" higher on one side of the stone than the other.It is obvious that little engineering went into this support. I can not recommend this to anyone.It is a pure waste of money as is the sharpening center itself. I finally gave up trying to make use if this unit and bought a Swedish made one.Now, that one is a great 5+ star unit.

can't level as manual suggests
the only problem i had with this adapter is that the instructions in the manual for leveling it with the stones are incorrect.the set screws for the mounting bar go into a groove in it, so you can't rotate it.but, i simply spun the mounting bar so i DON'T hit the groove, and it's fine now.i'm not horribly THRILLED about that, but i can tolerate it. ... Not what it appears...
I use my grinder more for sharpening woodturning chisels than anything else.In sharpening those curved gouges, my grinding wheels get divots.

Before I purchased this wheel dresser, I had a round carbo stick that did a good job of removing material but still hard to get a flat square surface.

What you can't see from the picture is that this Delta wheel dresser has a square cross section and is coated with diamond "dust".

While this may seem like a good idea since it would flatten a tall area of grinding wheel at one time, it turns out to not work so well since the grinding wheel is moving so quickly.A thin line of material would be easier to manage as the inch tall cutting surface can be difficult to control (too much bite).

Also of note, the diamond coating on the one I recieved is not flat.There are highspots that leave tiny vertical grooves in my wheel -- especially the white friable wheel.

This is not so good as one typically uses a wheel dresser to remove grooves.

In general I'm dissapointed with this item.I'm not so sure it's better than the carbo stick I bough from sears.I think next time I'll try a wheel dresser from a specialty company like Lee Valley Tool instead a large generic tool manufacturer like Delta. ... Read more

Great Grinder Stand!
Excellent heavy duty grinder stand.Very sturdy with handy center tray adding very good support.Easy to assemble with only one socket wrench.Took only about 15 minutes to assemble. Delta had the foresight to even include the necessary bolts, nuts and lockwashers for mounting a grinder to the stand. A nice touch. The included rubber leg caps keep the stand from slidiing around on tile workshop floors. This is a must have item for anyone who wants to save space on their workbench.This stand makes your grinder totally portable making it a far better choice then the pedestal type stands that must be permanently bolted to the floor. Highly recommended!

Another Bad ($$$ Making) Idea From a Name Brand Tool Company

I bought this exact same stand on eBay for less than half the money.It's made in China, of course, ("they" called it a "Pit Bull" stand) and it is not really heavy enough.It will need to be bolted and bracketed to the floor for stable operation. This is not a difficult thing to do, but it's a good idea.

As you can see from looking closely at the picture, there are only two holes drilled(?) and they are in the MIDDLE of the mounting plate (??).I don't know a your grinder, but mine mounts with a more traditional four bolt pattern. I had to drill my own holes.

On the good side, it is easy to assemble and is 32" high for most people of average height. The Delta sales literature doesn't tell you this either.If you're taller, like I am, you may want to consider a taller (35") stand.

If you simply MUST have this stand, buy it from eBay.There are hundreds of people reselling Chinese made tools there and they are easy to find.Including shipping, mine cost around $28.00.
