The HyLoft overhead storage system is a clever, clever concept, executed neatly. Just one 4-by-4-foot unit give you 35 cubic feet of storage that space previously wasn't there. Imagine installing these on either side of the garage door opener: you'll create storage space out of nothing. Great Storage System
The Hyloft is perfect for us, as we have a high ceiling in the garage and lots of things we want to save.I ordered 2 systems thru Amazon and initially tried to install them.I watched the video yet found the studs to be very difficult to locate.

Via the Hyloft website, I found a local operation to install them.The company, however, needs to make money as well and required me to have at least 4 units to install versus the 2 I bought here.I completely understood, especially given the drive time and fuel costs.

The Hyloft system itself is a great way to expand your storage and provide an archival system for things you just can't throw away.

I'm very happy I worked through an expert company who installs these daily.It took them less than 2 hours to install 4.They had to drill thru steel to access the wood stud, which was even hard for them.They Hylofts are now perfectly aligned along the ceiling which looks very clean.The extra cost was well worth it.

THESE ARE THE BEST!
I just recently gutted my garage and played my own version of Clean Sweep. Couldn't have done it without these. We installed 3 and it took several hours but WELL WORTH IT! Highly recommended, you'll be more than pleased!

Great Space Saver!!
I bought two of these and cannot believe how much they hold.It took my husband three hours to install with much of that time finding the first stud.Someone wrote a review about their unit only having two support beams, but each of mine has four as pictured.My huband said the instructions are easy to follow and the assembly is painless.I just love how nice they look and how much stuff I was able to pile on them. ... sturdy, easy to install, great way to increase storage area
The item is well built and attractive.I read the instructions 3 times before starting work, so I knew what I was doing before I started.It's best to have 2 people to install it, but one could manage.I bought six for my garage; they were on sale.Keep in mind that the max weight is 150 pounds for each unit.Also, the instructions warn you not to place more than 3 HyLoft units on any 2 studs/beams.They have a website that lists the instructions and the warranty.I'm glad I made this purchase.

Very good quality product!
I bought 3 of these, and after I checked out online, I had second thoughts and started to think about just building something like this on my own.But after it arrived and I installed one of them, that thought quickly left my mind.

The whole item was packaged very well.Each item was tied down and there wasn't any rattling (no nicks or scratches either).All of the screws, bolts, and nuts were in a plastic package all labled with the corresponding letters in the instructions.May not seem like a big deal, but it's really helpful and saves a lot of time compared to companies that just send a hundred misc. nuts and bolts in a plastic baggy and you have to sort them all out.

The quality of the parts were very good.There is a heavy coat of enamel paint that appears to be very scratc resistant- not so much for cosmetics, but for rust prevention in the long term.Nice long lag screws hold the brackets in place.For the 150 lbs capacity these have, the screws were overkill, but it really made me feel confident about the product and safety considerations given to the product.Everything lined up and fit as they were supposed to- nothing needed to be forced on.

Assembly wasn't too bad- about 30 minutes per unit if you have a couple of drill/drivers and the right tools.I think the lag screws that go into the joists are 1/4" x 3", so if you're screwing these things down by hand, it will take a lot longer with an adjustable wrench (espcially since you'll be working on a ladder up in the air).I used my drill driver with a 7/16 nut driver and that saved a ton of time.

The only reason that I give it a 4 star rating vs. a 5 star rating is because the instructions were mediocre and they use the same instructions for the big unit as they do for the small ones.On the instructions, the ones I had said to use nails that were included to install the brackets to the joists, but there were none, so I can only assume that these were for the larger model and weren't needed for this model.

Despite the cost of these, the quality and build makes it easily worth the money.These are sturdy and are very usefull to store those awkward items in your garage that can't be shelved or hung.I'd recommend these in a second!
