3410 Clamps
I have both the Quick-Grip 12" and Jorgensen 3410 clamps and use them equally. Both are easy to setup and hold well. However when I used a slight bit of higher than normal pressure on the Jorgensen clamp it gave way. The hold mechanism failed. The clamp was replaced by the dealer with no problems but I have yet to experience this on a Quick-Grip. On the other hand when used within their limits they hold exceedingly well. The large pads protect the wood and the grip style works well for my applications. I will have no hesitation purchasing other sizes to use for my other projects. Good Lightweight Clamp
This is a good clamp but care must be exercised to avoid breaking it. There is only a lightweight rivet holding the forward jaw to the screw mechanism. When releasing pressure with this clamp you must gently tap the back side of the forward jaw as you unscrew to avoid breaking the rivet.

The clamp works well for situations where you want to stand the clamp on its back and lay the wood fully into the clamp. If you try to clamp with only the outside ends of the jaws it can be difficult to release the clamp.

Superb Bar Clamp
Very stable clamp when used to glue up deep projects such as bookcases, cabinets and tall clocks.The aluminum body does not react with glues to create dark glue stains on the wood like what happens when an iron clampcontacts a glue joint squeeze out.One area of improvement - add the screwhandle from the 3/4" pipe clamp or I-beam clamp. ... JORGENSEN ''MASTERS'' CLAMPS.
THESE CLAMPS ARE EXCELLENT. THE SCREWS ARE SMOOTHE AND THE HANDLES ARE EASY TO GRASP. I LIKE TO STAND THEM ON END ,OUT OF THE WAY, WHILE THE GLUE SETS.ONLY DRAWBACK FOR ME,THE 24''CLAMPS COULD BE AN INCH LONGER AS I LIKE TO OVERSIZE MY PANELS SLIGHTLY AND TRIM LATER. OTHER THAN THAT THEY ARE SUPER.

Better than the Bessey Clamps
I bought 4 of these a few months ago for clamping raised panel doors and now I wish I had 20 more. These clamps have excellent strength, they keep everything paralell, and are easy to use. But what sold me was last week I borrowed some Bessey clamps from a friend and head to head the Jorgensens blew them away. The Jorgensens slide better, have a nicer handle, and they balance so much better. Overall, I'd buy the Jorgensen's over the Bessey's and save a few bucks in the process

Bone head Amazon Shipping
I ordered 4 of these clamps on August 20th.For Some reason in it's infinite wisdom someone at Amazon thought it best to ship them in groups of 3&1.They come shipped from the factory in pairs.
I received one clamp and was told the others would be shipped later.
Then I was told they were delivered. My wife and I were home on delivery day and NO ONE delivered to our address.The U.P.S. site indicated PORCH as delivery site.
It is now October 3rd and I STILL don't have the matching three clamps.

What makes this TOTALLY luducrous is that there are some people on different woodworking forums that have received duplicate orders and in some cases have not been billed for their merchandise.
To paraphrase an old airline commercial...
"Is this anyway to run an E-merchandising site?
You bet it aint!"

Good product, but get some clamp pads, too
I built a shed recently, making the door from tongue-and-groove decking boards.Before I could attach the 2x4 braces I needed to clamp the tongue-and-groove planks together.To fit big tools in the shed this door is 3-1/2' wide, so I needed a couple of big clamps.Two of these Jorgensen fixtures, plus a pair of 5' black pipes, did the trick quite nicely.

A few useful tidbits:

- The threaded black pipe recommended for use with these clamps comes with black grease to lubricate and deter corrosion.Clean this off before attaching the clamps so you won't mess up your wood.

- I strongly recommend getting a set of rubber clamp pads when you order your clamp fixtures.You only need one set for two fixtures.Don't gouge up your wood.

- The screw clamp fits into the orange sliding flat surface with a steel pin.One of mine came out, and I had to go get a hammer to re-assemble the clamp.I deducted one star for this, but it was just annoying rather than a fatal flaw.

- Black pipe typically comes in sizes from 1' to 5'.Shop for the pipe before buying the clamp fixtures if you need more than 5'.The fixtures take up a good half foot themselves, so 4' pipe wouldn't have worked with my 3-1/2' door.

Bottom line: an essential tool if you're trying to build something big.Recommended.

A Woodshop Standard
These versatile clamps are simple, strong, and a cost effective clamping solution.I recomend using black iron pipe as it is softer than galvanized and therefore the clamp grabs it better.Most stores that sell black pipe will cut and thread it for free.Have them thread both ends and use a cap from a pop bottle to cover the unused end.You can the use cheap pipe unions to join the two pipes to make a longer clamp.

Why buy Pony Brand?They are superior to their asian knockoffs in EVERY WAY.Pony pipe clamps are always concentric (nearly every asian made clamp I've owned are eccentric and do not operate smoothly and require serious grinding to make them usable).

The pony'sscrew is larger in diameter and the threads are beefier.I have bent some asian clamps thread post but never a Pony's.

When you are gluing up a panel and trying to beat titbond's tack time and suddenly your Chinese clamp binds up on you you will say to yourself NEXT TIME ITs GOING TO BE PONY!

This is one of the last of the quality "MADE IN THE USA" tools that hopefully will never change.

Oh - one more thing - I've seen these ebay used for what Amazon is selling new ones for!

Very good, sturdy clamps. I only rated them 4 stars because Rocklers surefoot is a much better design with equal the quality. Use galvanized pipe, same price & it won't rust or stain your work. Also for some homebrewed clamp pads take some scrap 3/4" fir plywood, it's relatively soft & doesn't split, cut it into roughly 2" x 3 1/2" pieces. Then drill a 1 1/8" hole towards one end & paint it with polyuerathane. Slip it over the pipe & screw it to the clamp faces from behind with #6 x 3/4" sheet metal screws. You'll wind up with decent clamp pads that won't stick to glue or come off of the clamp. ... Read more

Must have for Kitchen Cabinet Install
Did my own kitchen cabinets and these clamps are well worth the money. They hold the cabinet together while making sure they are flush together. Impossible to do with other clamps. Only wish there were similar clamps for cabinets that are offset by 30 degrees.

An Essential Tool
If you are installing cabinets this is one tool you do not want to be without. Works well but you may need more than two if your cabinets are large or if fighting with a really uneven floor.

great clamp but could be improved
These work well for hanging cabinets and make short work out of alignment. My only critisism is the pin (a rolled piece os steel that holds the two pieces of the clamp together at the screw) repeatedly came out of the hole and allows the clamp to separate. This has happened to both clamps and has been remedied by opening the cylinder with a nail set and redriving it back into the hole. They are always in my tool box and they are used heavily as I am a cabinet maker.If they fix the pin with a threaded hole and pin with a screw thread on the end I would have given it a 5+. Not Godzilla, But A Strong Clamp
For maximum clamping power, the ¾" pipe clamp is the way to go.If your needs are not as demanding, then then this is the clamp for you.

The crank style handle worked very smooth and has adequate travel. The adjustment with the handle was such that either light or heavy pressure could be applied with ease. The clamps can also be set horizontally on a flat surface allowing you to edge glue pieces for tabletops very easily. The beauty of this style clamp is the ability to change clamping length needs quickly. One clamp with multiple lengths of threaded steel1 ½" pipe gives you endless capabilities.

While the steel bar type clamps does have their niche for lighter task (drawer construction, carcasses assembly, etc) and the ¾" pipe clamps handle you most demanding jobs, these clamps could be considered a hybrid (in capacity rating) of the two.For my money though, its worth a little extra in investing in the ¾" model as oppose to this one.But then again, why not have both?You can never have enough clamps!!!

A good clamp - with limitations.
These clamps are the little cousin of Pony's great 3/4" pipe clamps. While the 1/2" clamps work fine within their limits, they do havelimits.Applying a lot of pressure will flex a 1/2" pipe, possiblyleading to an out of square joint.I also do not think that the clamptightening mechanism is as well made as on the 3/4" clamps, but it isstill pretty good.I have several of these clamps and while I think theyare a good value for the money, I would suggest spending a few more dollarsfor the 3/4" clamps.

Excellent clamp. Even better service
Compared to the other major brand clamp in this category, (I own both brands)the Jorgensen cabinet master clamps have a larger handle,beefier hardware, and a larger clamping surface area.I've already had cause to use the reversable feature. The spring loaded end piece helps keep your clamp flat on the table when its in use They clamp very square (I checked with my machinist square)

I've had a hardware failure on one of the clamps.So why did I give it 5 stars?Because I got on the Jorgensen web site, and told them of my problem.Within a day they had responded and said that in the window of time I had bought mine,they discovered a design issue that cause the floating washer to come off the screw (which is the problem I had.) They offered (I didn't have to ask) to ship me replacement screw mechanisms for all four of the clamps I bought. It came in a few days,no questions asked, no arm twisting, no delays. That is first class service.It took me 5 minutes per clamp to swap out.

Great Clamps for woodworking.
These clamps have been around for ever. Any good woodworking shop has a pile of them. Get them in pairs at a minimum and get a variety of sizes you won't be sorry. They last a lifetime and more.

Oh yeah the other dimension you need to know is the distance from the tip to the middle spindle on this clamp is 6 inches.

Jorgensen #2 clamps
I own a small cabinet makeing shop and have been useing Jorgensen clamps for years. I prefer the number 2 because its a middle of the road size for most wood working projects. My number one preference for the clamp is the way the wooden handles are attached to the threaded steel. I have never twisted a handle off yet when clamping. The versatility of the clamp also allows you to clamp irregular pieces together by not drawing the clamp together uniformaly.The hard maple does not mar your work surfaces either. Another plus to Jorgensen clamps has to be the ease of glue cleanup when a little to much runs onto the clamp. The Best Clamp
Jorgensen I-bar clamps are the proverbial "be all and end all" when it comes to wood working clamps.They last forever and are extremely powerful.In comparison to Bessey (the other major manufacturer of woodworking clamps) I prefer Jorgensen for the following reasons:
1. Jorgensen's crank allows you to get more force on an object than Bessey's handl.
2. The I bar is smooth (as opposed to the Bessey which has raised bumps which are part of its locking mechanism).This makes it much easier to clean off glue which will inevitabley get on the clamp.
3. The Jorgensen clamp is much stronger than the the Bessey; I've seen numerous k -body clamps with cracked jaws.

It should be noted that one should take caution when gluing with the Jorgensen clamps; if the wood and glue come in contact with the bar, this will cause the wood to stain. Always keep the wood off of the bar.This is not a concern with the Bessey, which uses an aluminum bar.This is the only regard in which I believe that the Bessey clamps have it over the Jorgensens. ... Big bad clamps!!
I love these clamps. The steel construction is very sturdy, and heavy! When used with the Mastadon pads, they are just perfect to clamp together bookcases, cabinets and other wood projects. I especially like the large crank handles, which provides excellent feedback to the hand on the amount of pressure being applied to the work pieces. If you need to apply a lot of clamping pressure on your project, you can't beat this heavy-duty clamps!

Jorgensen I-Bar Clamps
The I-Bar Clamps from Jorgensen are a step up from the traditional 'pipe clamp' that are very common.My first purchase of the 7200 series clamps was for a large kitchen that I was going to build.I noticed immediatelythat the I-Bar clamps were very heavy, twice as much as my usual pipeclamps.The heads and armature that tightens the body down on the materialneeding to be clamped were 30% larger and the I-Bar did not flex underpressure.I used fewer clamps and this allowed for more doors/panels to beglued up based upon the traditional pipe clamps that I had been using.Ifound the clamps to be very rugged, durable, easy to use, large enough tohandle any situation outside the shop, and affordable.
