5-0 out of 5 stars This is a great blade at a good price.
If you've been thinking about a new blade, get this one.It is one of the best all-around 10" blades, especially for the price. The thin kerf saves wood over the long run and I noticed it takes less force to run a piece through and the saw doesn't bog down as much. The super sharp carbide tips really slice through the wood, leaving a clean cut.It also runs quieter than my old blade. The chrome finish should help reduce the friction for a long time since it doesn't build up any gunk on it.Besides that, it just looks good!

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for Contractors Saw
I've been using this blade in my Delta Contractors Saw for several months, and it has performed flawlessly. The chrome surface is incredibly durable and still mirror-perfect.It will cut through laminates and veneerswithout tearout. It's the perfect all-around blade for table saws withless than 3hp. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Favorite Blade
I was pleasantly surprised by how good this blade cuts.I knew Freud was a good brand and this definately meet all my expectations.

5-0 out of 5 stars perfect for my screamer
i was looking for a blade to cut 3/4" baltic birch plywood for a large cabinet building project and deceided that this blade would be ideal. after installing it in my delta screamer table saw,(36-600), i gave it a whirl on some scrap plywood. from past experience with freud blades in a radial arm saw, i figured that this blade would do the job perfectly. it has definetly lived up to expectations and then some. i just like cutting stock as if it were butter. also i found it VERY helpful that amazon has the picture of the blades which allow you to see the printed chart on the blade sides. ... Editorial Review

Freud's 8-1/2-inch sliding compound miter saw is a reliable and reasonably priced saw that smoothly cuts wide stock. That said, people accustomed to other miter saws might find some of Freud's design characteristics to be less than user-friendly. This saw has a two-piece blade guard more like those found on radial-arm saws, and the two-button thumb switch is difficult to operate and a little annoying when trying to make repeated cuts. Making miter adjustments requires flipping a lever over to get out of the detent and then loosening a butterfly-type screw to release the table--another unique setup that could use improvement. But, despite these less-than-ideal features, this saw does make clean and accurate cuts and comes with an excellent Freud blade. It is solidly constructed, has a powerful motor, and should last a long time. For homeowners and do-it-yourselfers wanting the horizontal cutting capacity of a sliding compound miter saw, this is the most affordable way to go. Professionals may want to consider other models to avoid the extra labor resulting from this saw's design. --Brian Trinen ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A good saw that makes great cuts
I am a woodworker by hobby, and a part time weekend warrior light contractor.I bought this saw actually used at auction, but it had apparently very little use.As I do with all of my tools, I immediately gave the saw a good inspection with a square and by making test cuts.It was out of square, but the simple adjustments for the fence made correcting that issue easy. With the original blade, the saw makes nice cuts in hardwood without issue.I like the combination of smaller blade and sliding function, and I feel that is more accurate than the wobble i've seen from larger blades.

I think this is a good saw for the money.Downers are the non-standard trigger lock that makes you think consciously about turning the saw on, but once you've had it a while, its a non issue. One other thing is the miter adjustments are cumbersome at first to get used to as well..The combo wing-nut and flipper are, however effective and easy to use once you get the hang of it.

A good saw.

2-0 out of 5 stars Freud compound mitre saw broken motor shaft
While sawing a 2x4 stud a knot in wood came out and lodged shearing and twisting motor shaft into. This saw may be ok for small work such as picture frames etc. but would not recommend for heavier work.

4-0 out of 5 stars Carpenter, Cabinet builer and installer
I bought the saw because of the price of all the "Big Saws" out there. I have to say for the money I have not been disappointed.
I did take off the lower blade guard right away so as to make the blade visable for fine cutting. I have no trouble operating the saw left or right handed, it has plenty of power to cut 2x material, and the crosscut will cut a 1x12 no problem. I have operated many saws in 20 yrs of construction, and I believe this to be good value for the money. While it is not a 5-600$ saw, it sure gives them a run for the money. I have used it to install crown and trim, and cut shelving, all with no problems, although I would suggest a better Freud blade for this kind of work as the stock one is more of a cross cutter not for fine trim. It beats the slop on the blade that you can get on the bigger saws by keeping the blade to 8.5 inches, the only one better that I know of in this class in a 7.5 inch makita that has a 6,000 rpm motor that cuts like a razor, but then you are back up there in price again, so the choice is yours. I do like the lightweight but very stable base to the saw also, it makes it real nice on jobsites. I do not take lightly buying tools, they are an investment and if taken care of will make you money many times more than their price, and I believe this saw will do the same. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good blade
Not quite the polished cut of a good 80T blade, but very good as a general use blade, as the Freud on-blade ratings suggest. If you are looking for a finish cut blade, get an 80T.The chrome is really nice and it has yet to heat up or bind, which is great!

4-0 out of 5 stars Buy 2 and give one to a friend
I am a fairly serious woodworker. I had a need to buy a new blade for my table saw. My old blade was a Forrest Woodworker II. I cut laminates Birch plywood, Ripped thousands of feet of oak, cherry and other hardwoods. . I have to admit that the Forrest was an incredible blade. The problem was that it was rusting because my shop is in the garage. I had a Freud Teflon blade in my power miter box. I have been always impressed by the glass smooth cuts. I was a bit apprehensive because the price of this blade was about a third of the Forrest, but I liked the idea of the chrome finish. I have now completed a few projects and I am surprised to say that it compares very closely to the Forrest. I have cut melamine and found a razor sharp edge on both sides of the cut. I have ripped a few hundred feet of oak with it and I have yet to see any burning or tear out. At this price I should have bought 2 and gave one to a friend! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars What a DEAL
Great set of blades for a good price. The Teflon coat DOES make a difference.I was a little worried that it would turn out to be a gimmick but it really does the job.

5-0 out of 5 stars tougher than nails
Here is a great combination of blades for the average carpenter.I absolutely love the quality of Freud blades, especially the ones with Teflon coating. It gives the blade improved lubrication while spinning through the wood, and it keeps the blade from burning your wood. The smaller Diablo blade is tough as nails (or should I say, tougher than nails?).Equipped to go through almost anything, it will hold its accuracy even in the toughest of conditions.Great deal! ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy it
I purchased this blade in June of 2001. I gave it two stars simply because it is chromed. I installed this blade in my DeWalt sliding chop saw and was not impressed from the begining. I have since kept it in a saw box with other old blades and don't like using it. It burns, tears out wood labors through compound cuts and generally is not a good performer. I have had it sharpened a couple of times by a great sharpening shop and they can't get it to perform any better. Its back into it's storage box it goes.
Do not buy one of these.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent blade for trim & finish carpentry
This blade makes cuts as smooth as glass, in casings and moldings.Blades like this are what allow the pros to make perfect cuts.

1-0 out of 5 stars It Looks Nice
It looks nice cuts ugly. The 1st thing I noticed with the blade installed on my DeWalt DW708 was, the saw seemed to push hard.2nd it left burn marks and 3rd. the cut wasn't smooth (little ridges).Tried every thing I could think to do, nothing seemed to change the final result, a lousey cut from a lousey blade.Put the blade that came with the saw back in, just to see if it was the saw's fault, everything was fine. The Freud goes back. ...
