Power For Digging
I bought this product for digging.I also appreciated the contractor review previously done.I live in an area with poor soil and needed something that was easier to use than a pick.I got the spade and chiselbits.This rotary hammer works great.I dug holes or 8 plants in 20minutes...and the machine did the work.The cost was well-worth saving myheart and back.I'm sorry that I didn't buy one of these 10 years ago!

Biggest bang for the buck
Rotary hammers are a big buck item so its important to consider all of them.I use this Bosch hammer in my electrical contracting business.Its small enough to handle easily and it is built to minimize the vibrationthat comes with drilling concrete.It can drill through concrete up to isspecification and handle ground rod driving too.Buy this unit and theBosch bits but consider the DeWalt accessories, like ground rod driver orspade bit, because they are usually less money. ... NO SUBSTITUTE!
This Bosch demo hammer is one of my most often used power tools. I am a landscape contractor in Northern California, often bidding work that I can't see, (underground sprinklers or drainage systems for instance) andencountering many unexpected obstacles.

This Bosch hammer has been alifesaver when it comes to cutting through layers of concrete and rocks,chipping out concrete "overpour" and removing things like oldfence post bases.

With the clay spade bit, it also comes in very handywhen digging up compacted soil (typical of a lot of new home sites.) Theadjustable handle works well in close quarters, allowing for approach andattack from different angles. The SDS-MAX bits are a breeze to change, andallow for switching some bits with other tools (my Bosch rotary hammer forinstance.)

All told, this demo hammer is versatile, reliable, andindispensible for finishing out trenches, foundation work, and demolitionof concrete and asphalt. Contractor friends of mine have had theirs(including this model's predecessors) for years. It's a tool that retainsit's value in the long run, for which there is no substitute. ... Read more
