4-0 out of 5 stars Almost Perfect!
The other reviews have the count of blades correct . . . Tool Crib are you listening . . . put it in the main description!!
My only complaint is that these ship in a ziplock back with no padding to protect the blades, they are not carded like the 3, 4 and 5 packs. So, by the time they get to you will have rubbed together enough to have lost a little of their paint, and thus you may have trouble for example telling the T118A from the T118B. I'm also afraid of what this may have done to the blade tips themselves . . but can see no problems.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Swiss Make Great Knives, and Jig Saw Blades
This is a review I wrote for the 30 pack of woodworking blades. Since it applies as well to the assorted 30 pack for metal and woodworking, I thought I would submit it as well. Here it is:
On the side of these blades is imprinted "Bosch" and "Swiss Made" (for Bosch) These blades are scary sharp. The instructions tell you to wear gloves when installing them. My ego told me different, so I skipped the gloves. One of the blades touched, or should I say just glanced lightly against my finger, and my skin immediately created a fine shred. Oops. Now I wear gloves. These things are definitely sharp. I don't have another blade in any category that are as sharp as these. Exercise caution when using them. Of course this makes for a great jig saw blade. They effortlessly go through material. With three different levels of coarseness, you can meet any task. The 30 pack has ten of each, coarse, medium and fine. The assorted pack gives you metal and woodworking blades. See item description.
With a 4x8 leftover edge of a piece of plywood as my guide, I used the jig saw to cut an edge on a piece of MDF. It was so smooth and even, that I only touched it lightly with a sanding block and 120 grit to produce a factory edge. That is saying something for a jig saw.
I am using these on a Bosch jig saw, that I can not say enough about. These blades work well, I understand, on any jig saw that takes the T-blade style.
You can't beat the price. Everything is cheaper by the dozen. The 30 pack enables you to buy a blade that is way sharper and resilient than any other jig saw blade I have ever used, and at a price that can't be beat.
I bought the Bosch metal cutting blades for the jig saw as well. Jig saw blades are something that needs to be renewed due to the unusual material and positions we put them through, so you might as well buy a pack and save the money. Just be sure and wear some gloves when changing them, or concentrate on only touching the back edge.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent all rounder - even for hardwood
For the last 9 months I have been searching for a suitable blade for cutting 20mm Hardwood floors, usually Oak or Merbau. I require both a clean, splinter free cut for going across the grain but also a fast cutting blade for cutting along the grain, up to lengths of 2 metres. At last I have found one! The T234X is superb. It gives almost mitre saw quality cuts across the grain and cuts at great speed along the grain. I broke five "regular" Bosch blades this morning, I only used the one progressor this afternoon and it is still going strong. This is the only blade I will buy from now on, I recommend you try it too!

5-0 out of 5 stars Cut quickly, Cut clean
In my experience, this blade makes a fine, straight, usually splinter-free cut in thick and thin solid wood.I have used it on redwood and pine in various dimensions with great results.I have not personally used it onparticleboard or plywood, but if Bosch says that it will work equally wellon those, I will believe it. Buy a pack and try it for yourself.

5-0 out of 5 stars The BEST Jigsaw Blades Ever Made for Wood!
The title of this review says it all. These blades have a separate set of teeth that cut each side of the kerf. You can actually end up with cuts that don't need sanding! These cut through everything I have tried them onlike butter. They are particularly good on plywood.

I use them in myBosch Jigsaw (see that review, also).I suppose they will fit other brandsthat have a bayonet mount.

If you find a smoother cutting blade, let meknow! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Alot of fluff
This part is not really worth it.I was using a Bosch orbital jigsaw that that I got for our pergo kitchen floor.I started out using the inserts, but after a while I just couldn't see the line I needed to cut so I took it off. When I did I really didn't notice a difference with it off.If you use a sharp fine tooth blade you can achieve the same results and see where you are trying to cut. In my opinion this is just alot of fluff.Invest in a bunch of good blades, its worth it.

4-0 out of 5 stars They stop splintering, but so does fine tooth blades
I thought that since they were clear plastic, they would do the job, and not get in the way of being able to see the line. Wrong! They fog up with wood dust on the underside, right away, and the line is impossible to see. When I wanted to see where my marks were at the end of the cut, I had to guess.
In terms of getting a straight aim, Bosch put a V groove on the leading edge. If you were making a completely through cut, then the splintering inserts are a good thing to have. But when I tried to see where my cut would stop, it was buried under the insert, and couldn't see my mark. So I guessed. The net result is an inaccurate cut. When I took the insert off, I could make the cut, and come to an exact mark.
The insert blocks the blower from being able to get to the wood, so it is only cleaning off the top. Having used it both ways, it is nowhere near as good as eyeballing the blade.
I know they are inexpensive, so I shouldn't get so excited. The reason why I feel bad is that one came with the jigsaw, and instead of using it, I went ahead and bought a five pack of them.
I used a finer tooth blade, made my cuts into 3/4" oak with the splintering inserts installed. It made a very smooth cut without splintering. I removed the inserts, and used the same finer tooth blade, made my cuts, and it also made a very smooth cut without splintering.
End of story, just use a good finer tooth blade. The Bosch blades are Swiss made, and they are so sharp they are almost scary. They fly through the material, and don't create any splinters, just clean smooth edges.
My advice, put the money toward a new pack of fine tooth blades.

4-0 out of 5 stars Barely 4 stars
I prefer reverse tooth or fine blades when I don't want splinters. Thatway I can keep a close eye on the cut which is harder with these. If youare using a straight edge I suppose they would be more useful. For a trulyclean cut I make a rough cut about 1/8" larger and then use a routerand a straight edge for the final clean up. I would spend my money on goodblades rather than these. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Close to a Must Have
The Left Side Support extension is everything it is supposed to be.Solid, heavy, a good general fit, and with thoughful design features which make it a 'natural'accessory. Marginally off horizontal at full extension (slightly below table level), I temporarily compensated with (gulp) a 1/4" Duct Tape longitudional strip as a 'shim' on the outer arm top (nice and easy to instal, stays put, and is 'slippery').I'll get around to a better solution with a washer or two on the mount bracket (maybe). I think this Support Extension is just about a must have, and is well enough constructed to be worth the price paid.

This side extension is very worth the money. It's easy to install and works smoothly. It does droop a bit so may need some washers on the far bolts to level it out.

Reviews (4)

5-0 out of 5 stars Why aren't all clamps be like this one?
This product is so well designed, one of the main reasons I bought a Bosch saw was because of their clamp. Do you think this is overstated? It is not. My twoprimary goals in sawing are (1) to keep all of my fingers, (followed distantly by) (2) to saw wood as needed. A good clamping system is of paramount importance to me.

If a clamp does not work quickly and easily, we tend to dispense with it and just hold the wood. I know several people who found out the hard way the drawbacks of holding while cutting. Bosch is the only manufacturer who goes the extra distance and includes (1) a quick adjust, (2) a quick push clamp, (3) all-metal construction, and (4) a cushion to avoid denting the wood. Bosch is the only company that puts a lot of thought into the design of their clamp.

Way to go, Bosch! I salute you with all the fingers that I was born with!

4-0 out of 5 stars Works as advertised
Like the clamp - it has a sliding adjsutment that makes it quick to use and when clamped down - the wood is going any place.Works great on the sliding compound saw.

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply the best
I have a couple of jigsaws (including a Bosch barrel grip) and these blades are the best I have used.I prefer the Bosch blade style anyway, and this particular Bosch blade in particular.I have used this blade on many different woods and plywoods and I find the performance to be excellent in every material. The cuts are usually splinter free and the thin blade design allows for accurate curve cutting and scrollsaw-like precision.Though the blade is thin, it is surprisingly sturdy (they don't break too easily).

I highly recommend these blades to all finish carpenters and woodworkers. They are top notch and this is a very good price!

5-0 out of 5 stars Is there another choice?
These are the only blades smooth enough for any kind of finish carpentry. The straight teeth make all the difference in the world. From coping crown to the most extreme scrolling cuts, these blades are perfect!I haven't bought any different blade than these for years. If I can't find them in stock I'll do without rather than buying anything less than the best.If thinking about purchasing jigsaw blades, buy these. The only thing I would like to see from Bosch is the same blade a 1/2" longer. But you can't have your cake and eat it too!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great blades for sheet metal
These blades go great in my Bosch Progressor jig saw when its time to cut sheet metal. For this job, I always clamp the metal down to a piece of scrap plywood then cut through both metal and wood with one of these blades using a mid-range orbital action setting on the jigsaw. By going slow and careful, this produces clean and fast cuts in the sheet metal without the vibration and noise you get when not using a backing material. I wouldn't put anything but genuine Bosch blades in my Progressor jig saw.

4-0 out of 5 stars outfeed support
The outfeed support is a handy thing to have on a table saw. The only problem that I have encountered in useing it is that flexible materials like thin plywood tend to flex between the saw and the outfeed support and hit the support instead of going on top of it.This problem can be fixed by using a peice of scrap as a 'brige' to help the material make it onto the suport. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars These are scary sharp
The swiss make great knives and jig saw blades! :-) These Bosch blades are swiss made. It is stamped on the side. The instructions tell you to wear gloves when changing blades. I didn't listen, and my finger glanced against the edge, and it created a shaving of my skin. Do I wear gloves when I change bits? No, but I am very careful to grab just the back of the blade.
Blades this sharp make a very clean cut, and will fly through the material. I cut an eight foot piece of MDF with one of these, using a straight waste edge of a sheet of plywood as a guide. It came out so well it looked like a factory cut edge.
Combining these blades with the Bosch jig saw, gives you the best combination in the industry. Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Good
Very solid, does what it claims.
I've had one since '98 with NO issues.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not Universal
They advertise it as being universal but I have a new skil 10 table saw and it fell thru the opening in the stand.
I had to buy a 3/4 plywood to make a base for it to fit, but I like the concept of the stand. They should note the opening size for the base but they don't and I had to buy it then find out later.

5-0 out of 5 stars Ripper's last stand
I am a trim carpenter and need to move my stuff around a lot.Over the years, I have tried several job site table saw arrangments ranging from working on my knees on the floor to various cobbled up home made rigs, to a Delta in a Rouseau stand (which was quite nice) But I will now quit looking for a better way! This stand is well worth the price. It has to be the quickest of any I have ever seen to set up.Quicker and easier than the Rouseau You just squeeze the handles and it opens up and locks. You set the saw on and you are in business.Just as quick to take down. It is great for moving from room to room if you need to. It's like having a contractors' saw that you can pick up and run with. The construction is bomb proof, and the saw is rock steady to work on. There is slight lateral movement if you grab the saw and shake it, but in use, I never notice any movement. It is so nice, that I am selling a contractor's saw thatI have in my shop at home, as the Bosch is a nicer saw and this stand just makes it even more convienant to use. If you are spending the bucks for the Bosch saw go ahead and get the stand, they deserve each other ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for the first few cuts, but then . . . .
The first time I put these blades in my BOSCH jig saw, I thought how wonderful it was that BOSCH had created a blade that cut quickly, cleanly and slightly filed simulateously. Well, they do but they really only " file " the cut the first few cuts depending on the hardness of metal. I was cutting 1/8" mild ferrous steel and was amazed initially, then just pleased. My opinion is that if you have to make a few* good clean cuts the first time, and can't file/grind or just dont have the time or desire to do so, this is great choice. However, I feel for less money the standard BOSCH metal cutting blades cut just as well, and last a little longer. So these would be a five, if the abrasive edge coating held up a bit longer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Super Blades for a Super Saw!
I used one of these blades in my 1587AVSP while I was modifying the dash of my '83 Toyota Pickup to accept a new stereo. It cut nice and clean - no filing was necessary. It was also very easy to control while making thecuts.I had to "run the edge" of one side to make the hole abouta blade width wider - no problem.I even had to saw through a thickerframe member behind the dash, basically freehand, nowhere to rest thebaseplate of the saw.I just hit the piece with the blade at full speedand went right through it, just where I marked it.

These are highlyrecommended, especially if you run them in the Bosch saw! ... Read more
