4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent saw for the money, for contractor or home owner.
I am a contractor with over twenty years, and ten circular saws of experience, I'm very impressed with my new Bosch saw. This saw felt heavy ended and awkward the first time I used it, but, it didn't take me long to adjust, it's very smooth starting and very well balanced while making cuts. The power is what really impressed me though, I have been doing a project using a lot of rough cut, air dried hemlock lately and this saw never bogs down, even when cutting through a twisted knotty piece 2 full inches thick! The saw dosen't "jerk" when you pull the trigger, which is very impressed two of my carpenters enough that they asked me to replace my 2 Makitas with new Bosch saws! I admitt I purchased this saw because of the price first, reviews second, I'll buy my next one for the superior performance. I have only one complaint, the bevel adjustment is hard to move above 30 degrees, I'm hoping that will break in. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars An excellent saw
I have had this saw for over one year and have used it for cutting up to 3/4" plywood, including cabinet grade oak and birch plywoods. It has proven to be very durable and reliable in the short time that I have owned it. The handle is very comfortable and while it is heavier than most Makita's, it has not put strain on my arms because of the ergonomics. I,ve checked for accuaracy, blade run-out and sqaureness of the blade to the shoe and am very impressed by its precision every time I have a job to do. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Bosch's 10-inch Worksite table saw might just be the best of the current bunch. Benchtop table saws--which weigh 60 to 100 pounds and are light enough for one person to carry from the truck to the job site--have increased in popularity in recent years. They set up easily on a workbench or sawhorses and generally feature stable components that make them great for pros and serious hobbyists alike. Although at 60 pounds the Bosch is lighter than any other saw in its class, this saw is no lightweight. It sports a die-cast undercarriage and powerful 4.4-horsepower, 15 amp motor--burly components that make it a serious, albeit slight, contender. Conveniently, the Bosch comes ready to use right out of the box; we were making cuts about 10 minutes after the UPS delivery. Plus, it's the only benchtop table saw with an arbor lock, so mounting the blade is a one-wrench affair (less chance for busted knuckles). The wrench--like all those that come with Bosch tools--is forged, rather than stamped, and so there are no sharp edges that dig into your hand during blade changes. It's a small detail, but one that matters and one that's typical of the attention to detail paid by Bosch engineers.

A flip of the paddle-style on/off switch initiates the soft-start electronics, which ramp the blade up to speed quickly without any disturbing jolt. The electronic feedback, popular on many saws today, keeps the blade turning at a constant speed, no matter what the load. The fence is the heart of any table saw and we found Bosch's to be a beauty. It's well machined and locks securely and accurately to the table. The cam-lock handle is padded, seats flush, and feels good to use. Like the comparable DeWalt saw, the Bosch features an extendable fence that makes it easy to rip four-by-eight panel material. It feels solid and slides smoothly, and the scales are easy to read. (There's even a built-in magnifying glass to cut down on the squint factor.) As with all the new Bosch tools, wrenches and removable items store nicely onboard the saw. The fence snaps into a holder on the side of the saw and stays put, and the miter gauge slides into a slot on the front of the tool--yet another small detail that we appreciate. The bottom line? The Bosch is a powerful saw that handles big stock without bogging down. --Mark McDonald ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Bosch 4000 Worksite table saw
My Bosch table saw just arrived via UPS. Upon opening the box and putting together the saw, I realized that this is an excellent product. It is built to take abuse and remarkably, came out of the box in near perfect alignment. The fence, blade and miter guide needed very minor tweaking to make it 100% aligned. When I first used the saw, I expected it to be noisy and vibrate across the floor. Much to my surprise, it runs smoother than my floor model table saw. It is every bit as accurate, probably more so and is an incredible machine. I conducted extensive reviews of the saw prior to purchase and noted that all reviews were very positive. The only drawback I have found is that the placement of the on-off switch could be a bit more accessible. I like to turn off the machine with my knee if necessary and this switch is rather difficult to turn off without bending over and using a hand. I expect to modify a switch to allow use of the knee. Overall, this machine is top notch!

5-0 out of 5 stars good saw -- and customer service
After reading up extensively on worksite table saws, I went with the Bosch and have not been disappointed. It has handled a variety of materials (soft and hard woods) with ease and precision.

One problem I did have was with the washers used to secure the blade on the arbor. The outer washer wouldn't fit in the inner position such that I could use a wide dado configuration. BUT this turned into a positive.I emailed the company and got a quick response and a week later received new washers -- that fixed the problem -- via express mail.

good job, bosch.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best table saw I've ever used
The Bosch is the best table saw I have ever used. The features of this saw make it stand above the others.Features like the soft start motor show that this tool is well engineered and will last a lifetime. The fence is easy to use and accurate, and the sliding table extension and out-feed support are like having a second pair of hands. This tool is definitly worth the money. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Mostly positive
I reviewed benchtop models extensively, and finally pulled the trigger on this because it passed the size criteria set by my wife...nothing bigger than i can lift. The positives have been outlined in most of the reviews: great fence, powerful motor, stable, attention to details in storage of components, and a nice quality feel. the major negative is the miter gauge; it has too much slop, and bunny hops over the edge of the table. there isn't much room to work with in the from of the table so the miter face is frequently off the table, resulting in a less than smooth operation when performing a cross-cut. If not for the gauge...would have been a 5

5-0 out of 5 stars Precise and Powerful to handle all jobs
Very appropriate for my garage shop, the saw is so easy to move. The fence and right side table extension is easy to adjust and precise. It is portable enough to be moved by one person. The aluminum table and stand are solid, stable AND won't rust. The engine has soft start and runs quiet for all the power it has. There are places to store the fence and miter guage when not in use. This saw does exactly what it is supposed to do, and it does it well. I have to say one of my best purchases to date!

5-0 out of 5 stars Bosch Portable 10" Table Saw
As a construction worker and weekend warrior, I purchased this saw for both work and personal use. While I desired a heavier duty saw, the bosch was in my price range and more practical for my needs.
Both coworkers and friends all agree that the saw provides more bang for the buck than any of the other major brand portables. When working side by side with the Makita portable, the Dewalt portable, or the small shop Ryobie(with slide table), the Bosch blew them out of the water (much to the consternation of my friends and coworkers). This was a test ripping 4' pieces of green rough-cut spruce, right off of the mill. Love it! ... Read more

Editorial Review

If you're having trouble finding a cordless combo kit thatpacks enough punch at an affordable price, give this 24-volt arsenalfrom Bosch a try. With a maximum torque rating of 500 inch-pounds, thecordless drill is among the toughest available. That kind of torquenecessitates the included removable side handle and is likely to makethe user thankful for the cushion grip. While it offers only 16 clutchsettings--a small number compared to the 18 to 24 settings on competingdrills--this heavy-duty tool is really intended as more drill thandriver, and in most applications we can imagine, 16 settings is plenty. The keyless chuck on this drill has a grip tough enough to match themotor's high torque and can hold the big bits you'll want to use withthis drill.

The blade-left, 24-volt circular saw offers as much power and cutcapacity as you could ask for in a cordless saw. It can easily cutregular 1-1/2-inch-thick material at a full 50-degree bevel, and thebevel mechanism has a positive stop at 45 degrees. It featurestool-free, rear-pivot depth-of-cut adjustments and tool-free beveladjustments, plus the wrench for blade changes stores in a clip righton the base. The rear battery configuration on this saw allowed Boschto give the tool good, even balance while maintaining a nice lowprofile.

Bosch's cordless reciprocating saw provides plenty of heavy-dutycutting power without the leash. Its 0 to 2,300 spm speed ranks it withmany corded reciprocating saws in raw cutting speed. It featurestool-free blade changing, shoe adjustments, and--in a feature unique toBosch's reciprocating saws--you can switch the stroke length from 3/4inch for precision plunge cuts to 1-1/4 inch for faster cuts. For areciprocating saw, it's relatively easy on the arms, and for a cordlessmodel, its power can't be beat.

The batteries on Bosch's 24-volt tools are 2 amp hr ni-cads made forBosch by Panasonic. While we really like the padded grips Bosch uses onits cordless tools, the 24-volt battery does add a little extra heft tothese tools, and no matter how nice the grip is, you will notice theextra weight if you work with these tools all day. This kit is idealfor contractors and other professionals looking for heavy-duty,high-powered cordless tools at a great price. The full kit includes the1/2-inch drill, 6-1/2-inch circular saw, reciprocating saw, two 24-voltbatteries, a one-hour charger, a drill bit, carbide circular saw blade,a rip fence, two reciprocating saw blades, and a case that holds itall. --Brian Trinen ... Words cannot express how much of a pleasure it is to use these tools.Battery life is superb and the tools are of excellent quality. Not enough good things to say about the set.

3-0 out of 5 stars Perfect, when it works
I'm an HVAC contactor.I use my tools often.I previously owned a porter cable cordless drill that performed flawlessly. The performance of the bosch tool has been exemplary.Lots of power and reasonable weight. The first gear on the cordless drill gave up after two months of use however. Now I have to take it to a local repair shop and live without it for a week.Even after they repair it I will question it's durablity.I would suggest that people looking at this kit strongly consider a dewalt.

5-0 out of 5 stars Bosch is top of the line in tools!
My name is Ben Mackey.I'm from huntingdon, PA.I have not been in the trades very long, but what I've seen, heard, and used of the tools, I have found it to be a very reliable, long-lasting, and convient buy. They are light-weight and confortable, especially being in the 24volt category. They have the durability and strength of corded(electric) tools and the battery life that is unbeatable. The only drawback of these tools is the availability of them. Other than that, five stars all the way! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Comes to the rescue!
I am a professional remodeler and have just about every tool on the market. I don't use it that often but this little saw comes to the rescue when no other can do the job. It's great at making perfect cuts on wall trim while the trim is on the wall (a rotary tool, sawzall, circular saw can also do this but with less accuracy) . It is very powerful for its size. The only drawback is that the blades are not designed to cut through metal (old houses are full of hard nails in unimaginable places) but a sales rep indicated that they are working on a metal cutting blade. All of my friends in the business are amazed at this saw and I can't understand why they all don't own one. Good job Bosch!

5-0 out of 5 stars Bosch 1640VSPKG worth the money at the right price
I received my Bosch 1650VSPKG via UPS yesterday. I was impressed with the speedy processing and delivery of my order (ordered Friday and received on Tuesday). The price was to my liking with a $10 coupon plus FREE shipping.

The small manual was printed on less than quality paper, but the instruction were straight forward.

The first thing I did was fine-tune the blade alignment; needed was a small T-square, small crescent wrench and a blade screwdriver.

I recommend permanently mounting the miter table attachment to a solid surface to eliminate viberation [that are likely to be caused by the loosening of the furnished mounting clamps].

Another suggestion would be to construct "extention wings", i.e., 6" to 12" on each end of the [pemanentaly mounted] Miter Table, to handle and stable the excessive lengths of wood.

I don't think the Workclamp is adequate to sufficiently hold the wood being cut. I'd suggest using a pair of hand spring clamps to do this job by clamping them over the Workpiece Fence holding the wood to be cut.

Replacement blades are available on a couple other websites. There was about a $2 differents per blade between the two websites I located.

The only drawback of this packaged deal was the flimsey carrying case. But, I can live with that.

5-0 out of 5 stars Where have you been all my life?
A very clever tool with magnificent performance! This isn't a replacement for your circular saw or Sawzall (tm). But when you need it, absolutely nothing else on-the-market will do the job.Easily cuts through even when you need to begin your cut mid-sheet or mid-board -- with no pilot holes or wasteful pre-cuts.Surprisingly powerful, yet easy to handle even in awkward or confined spaces.I've never purchased a Bosch power tool, so can't yet comment on reliability.Regardless, this one is a real winner. ...
