Restoration
I have used these clamps for a few years on picture frame restoration. The small clamps are wonderful for holding small areas while glue is drying.
The only negative is the yellow pads tend to fall off as the tool ages. We have stuck picture frame bumpers on them and that seems to work fine if the pads are lost.

Life saver
These clamps came in handy during my recent kitchen remodeling project.I'm sure they'll be put to good use in the future as well.Easy clamping and release mechanism.

Weak plastic gears
I wish Irwin would improve this design. I used this reel for about 3 months before the gear broke inside. I was snapping a line when the reel released. I took it apart to find the plastic gear inside had split in two pieces. Also don't have much appreciation for the line as it frays easily. I do like the speed of retracting the line. Maybe they will improve this one.

I agree - you cannot go wrong with this one
After losing my old Stanley chalk line, I bought this one based on the low price and the Irwin name.I have been very pleased with it so far.Though the housing is plastic, it seems like durable high impact plastic so unless you drop it off a building onto concrete you should be alright.The chalk is smooth and easy to see and the string is very strong.

If I were in need of another, I would buy this same chalk line again...

This is the chalk line to buy!
I've used quite a few different chalk lines over the years and this is the one to buy.It's a great value, it work well, it's saves time with the faster rewind, and it's down right inexpensive.I recently replace my stanley chalk line with this one and it's oooohhhh so much better.

You could buy one of the significantly more expensive chalk lines... but really there is no reason to.Buy this one and save your extra cash for another tool.

Great product, buy the kit with chalk included, it's cheaper
My construction partner has had one of these for years, it's one of those things you don't think about... what's the difference between my line and his.Well, I used his line a couple of weeks ago for a couple of days.I have since replaced my Stanley line with one of these.It works well, the clutch is great, it saves me time because it rewinds so fast, it's made of tougher materials than my original.It's an unassuming great value.Buy the pack that has the included chalk, this is the amazon number.B0000AV6RO

A REAL WINNER
This Tool is a must for any handyman or carpenter.This thing is bomb proof. I used it for a recent roof job and, it fell 30' on more than one occasion, (it just bounced) so dont worry about breaking it.The old aluminum style would not have done so well. This thing winds up in a hurry and even un-winds quickly thanks to the clutch. Just press in on the handle and it pays out the line without the handle whirling around, a real neat trick.In my opinion this tool is top notch and , I do recommend it to anyone
