5-0 out of 5 stars The test of tests.
I own a 103 year old home, with 12 foot ceilings. It was time to paint the living room, and when I was looking at supplies, I saw this.I purchased it, got home cleaned the ceiling, with a broom.the ceiling was redone in the late 1980s with popcorn texture.i opened the box, read the directions and assembled the unit.I poured in the paint.Dutch Boy ceiling latex. The painter took about 2 minutes to prime and get paint to the roller head. I also had bought a long nap roller sleeve for the power roller. I climbed a ladder, and began to roll. With the drop guard on, I was able to roll fairly quick, and the paint flowed well.I had the unit on my shoulder, and had a gallon of ceiling white in it.So it was a bit heavy. But after I got the flow right, I would flip off the switch.I managed to get about a 18 foot by 16 foot celing done with less than one gallon of paint, and with no splatters! It did save me the time of reloading the roller.I got half of the room done. Then I finished the celing the next day with a spayer.
I also painted all of my walls with this. And the walls are large.12 feet high, and the room is thirty one feet long! The paint calculator on the glidden website recommended three gallons of paint, but with doing the trim, and all the cutting in, I used less than one and a half gallons.I recommend.Read the directions.Learn to use the power switch to turn the pump on and off as you get the flow set right.Clean after use, it took me about a half an hour to clean the unit both times I used it.Use latex for ease of cleaning. The speed you can paint smoothly is amazing with this.I painted the walls in about an hour. The weight can be much, but you can set the unit on a step ladder, or in the case of a ceiling I hooked it onto the ladder so as to not have to carry it.The extension gives you about a extra 16" of reach.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice little time saving machine
I just finished painting a 1,700 square foot garage with the Wagner Power Roller 929.It took a couple of cans of paint to get the flow speed down. The whole inside garage took around 20 hours to do. I used 2 coats of Behr paint and primer. I did the same job last year with a regular brush and roller that took about 40 hours to do.I would honestly say that this machine cut the painting time from 1/2 to 1/3 of the time. There is no constant bending and dipping the roller as with a regular roller. The cost was around $49.00 for the unit and around $7.00 for a Wagner roller cover (about the same at Home Depot).I would highly recommend this for a person painting a single family house. The only draw back is the cleaning time. After cleaning it a few times, it still took me about an hour to clean. The rollers were actually easier to clean than a regular ones due to the perforations in the roller cover.I would suggest reading the manual a couple of times before starting, and have a fairly big tub and drying area when cleaning. The main thing is to clean this immediatly after use. Do not wait to clean.I would say to clean the tubing first, and keep very good track of the small parts.Overall, this did a great job for the big project I had to paint (1,700 sq. feet).Clean up is a pain, but you have to weigh out the time (6 hours painting-1 hour cleaning or 12 hours painting-30 minutes clean up with a regular roller kit).Wagner also sells more more upgraded models at Home Depot that you can directly hook up a paint can to save even more time. This model 929 can be purchased form here, Wal-Mart, and Home Depot for around the same price.

2-0 out of 5 stars Wagner Power Roller
I would not recommend this product.I bought the corded model (Roll Fast Power Roller).Out of the box it applied the paint evenly and much faster than I could have using a manual roller and 5-gallon bucket. The biggest drawback was in painting the ceilings as the wand was heavier than a manual roller and I had to apply more pressure on the roller to distribute the paint.Another drawback to the product is the roller system itself. The rubber gasket on the roller arm, which seals the roller, rubs against the roller creating resistance which must be overcome during painting.Another drawback is the clean-up which took me over 45 minutes (despite a 5 minute claim on the box). Finally after 3 hours of painting I had to quit using the tool when dried paint prevented the roller cog from turning. The pluses for the tool are (1) it is definately much cleaner to use and (2) it does apply paint evenly. But I am going back to my five gallon bucket, screen and manual roller. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Works as advertized!
Painting is an odieous task. Spraying or rolling painting simply blows.
This painter, saves time and paint for outdoor projects or hall closets.
I tried to use it for doing my house and it is too much work even doing an empty room means at least taping the carpets. For huge rooms stick to a roller, it is faster and neater.

For closets this thing is worth it.

1-0 out of 5 stars TERRIBLE!!!
It's not enough that this sprayer costs as much as it does, but Wagner has decided that you should pay them in order to continue to use this product after you buy it. How so? It is more than obvious to me that Wagner has purposely made a part in this machine called a "swirl valve" out of cheap plastic that wears out very, very quickly. Being a vital part, you must replace it- and they're expensive! This way the company continues to drain your wallet.
It is also underpowered and will often "spit" the paint out instead of spraying it. It is best to just do it the old fashion way with rollers and brushes; it's cheaper, more efficient, and good exercise. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent unit for homeowner
I bought mine factory reconditioned from GleemPaint.com for a VERY good price and received the unit in 2 days. My previous sprayer was a Wagner Power Pro (hand buzzer) and the 9150 is way, WAY superior. Since it's advertised as an entry level "contractor grade" sprayer, I expect it to last a fairly long time since it will only get occasional use plus most "wearable parts" are replacable. The tip size helps control the paint flow and spray pattern, so you may need more than one tip for handling different jobs. I'm VERY satisfied with both the unit and GleemPaint.

5-0 out of 5 stars paint this
I bought this unit reconditioned for...including shipping. When it came in it looked brand new with a new hose and gun;I think someone bought it used it once and then returned it.
Putting it together was pretty easy just the handle, pail hanger, gun and hose and the suction and return tubes. It took longer to find the correct wrench than it did to put it together. The instructions in the manual are a little difficult to understand for someone new like me that hates painting, but after 2 or 3 times I finally got it.Priming the unit is easy just put the bucket under the intake tube turn the dial to prime and turn it on till you see paint running back into the bucket from the return tube. Then flip the dial to spray and you are ready to go.There is a pressure dial down on the side if you are spraying Latex run it up to maximum and you are ready to let fly.Make sure you have a big hat goggles and a mask because the worst part of this process especially in a small room is the "FOG"I used a garbage bag (extra large)cut a hole in the top and some arm holes; cheap easy and disposable and fired it up.It took me a little bit of time to get used to spraying and how it would work but once I did, it was the about as fast as I could move,I painted a 220 sq ft room with 2 closets all with 8 foot ceilings and also 2 ceilings in an ajoining bathroom in a matter of minutes. This thing can lay down some serious work very very quickly and the coverage was much better than a roller or brush just have someone watch you and if you do miss a little spot just have them point. You will need lots of light we painted at night and it was hard to see.I would guess you could paint a garage wall 20x8 in under a minute. It took longer to use 1 gallon cans (stirring and repriming) so I would recommend 5 gallon buckets if possible. Cleanup is pretty easy put the intake tube in a bucket of clean water and the return tube back in the paint can and set it to prime and turn it on just for a little while until the paint starts to turn clear maybe 10 seconds or so totalthen put the return tube back in the water bucket with clean water reprime it. Take the tip off of the gun and throw it in a bowl of water set it to spray put the gun at the edge of the paint can/bucket and turn it on to spray the paint back in the bucket until it starts to get clear then put the gun in a big sink and pump some water through the hose for a few minutes. Then pull the filter out of the gun and brush it,I used an old tooth brush clean it up. Then clean up the dust and any spills and reassemble and you are done. Oh yeah also pull the intake tube off and plug it with the attached plug after cleaning. Also put a few drops of the separating oil in the top oil hole not too much or it will leak all over the place.Overall if you have some painting to do this unit will do it; don't waste your money on the small little hand held units I did that a few years ago and it was a waste of...bucks.There are also accesories for this unit, for an 8 foot ceiling just stick your hand upand keep it moving if you have a tall ceiling look into the 6 foot extension.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't go there. Ask any past user
I purchased the Wagner Power Painter one speed 1600 psi to paint the inside of my garage, ceiling and all.
I attached the attachments and followed all the procedures only to get a minor sputtering of paint out of the jar and then none out of the tubing that led to the bucket.
Its weak motor made a lot of noise and was hard to hold but couldn't spray standard interior paint to save its soul. I'm returning it expecially after telling my tale to others only to find similar stories.
The reputation of this machine amongst home improvers and construction folk alike was that it isn't worth the trouble of carrying it home. I had to hand roll out the whole garage myself. Since my husband is due back from the middle east soon I wanted to make everything nice for him and that flop set my tight schedule back a whole day.

1-0 out of 5 stars The sputter gun
I purchased this product today for a small home project with plans of future use on other projects. This is my third electric spray gun in the past 35 years and was very disappointed with its performance. It was difficult to obtain a steady spray as it kept sputtering and making a mess. Other guns I have used bring a viscosity cup in order to get the proper mixture. This one lacked this simple attchment. The clean up was more than I bargained for an ended up returning the the purchase.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not bad for the price
Not a bad sprayer for the price.Easy to clean up when using latexpaints.Does have a tendency to once in a while spray gobs of paint out. I seem to have difficulty adjusting the spray pattern. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars WallMagic
I have done several rooms in my home and friends homes with this kit. We all are very pleased with the results! It looks better then wallpaper! No two rooms are the same. You can experiment with different colors and get a unique result every time! I recommend this product for anyone who wants a change in that plain old one color paint job! Its fun to do, and people have to touch the wall to see if it really is paint!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars New to me
I have just purchased the kit... I haven't used it yet, but last year had some painters do a job for me, and they used it. The results were fantastic, and appeared to be easy enough to use. So I'm going to give it a shot. My 5 star rating is solely based on the results someone else obtained

5-0 out of 5 stars What a bargain
Found a pan and roller with this odd looking split pan and roller at a thrift store. Always curious, but having no book or directions I lucked out after a short experiment, It was apparent what it could do. I'm no painter and if it is that easy for me without instructions, it must be a breeze with the help of a video. I would highly recommend this product, even to the most rank amature. It's that easy. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great PVC heater/bender
I bought this heat gun to heat PVC in order to bend it. I was using a butane torch and this works much better. It generates more than adequate heat, but without the problems of burning the PVC. It is light and easy to handle. I also really like the stand that is attached, allowing hands free bench work. The cool down feature works well, reducing the (in my case anyway) potential burns. I would definitly recommend it, at least for bending PVC. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars save yourself a lot of aggravation
This has to be the absolute worst power tool I have. I would sell it but would feel too guilty. It would make a good spatter gun if it would do that consistantly. Seriously, save yourself the aggravation and rent/buy a good airless. It will no doubt go the way of the $ 15.00 brad nailer from Harbor Frieght. Bouncing across the driveway!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great tool for the price - works well if you're competent
Let's be honest here - if you're expecting miracles from a $70 sprayer, you're barking up the wrong tree. Most people don't even know how to use a hammer, so I would assume lots of the complaints are coming from people who are "less handy". That being said, for the price, this is a great sprayer. I would suggest using this unit in situations where coverage is more important than the quality of the job. For example, I used it to paint my basement cieling and walls, a place where perfection isn't necessary. There was no way I could have evenly covered those surfaces with a brush! I used the paint can attachment to do the cieling, the hardest part was carrying around a full paint can and holding a five-pound sprayer above my head for an hour (big deal). But after just one hour, I had covered about 250 square feet of uneven and complex cieling surface. There was the expected cloud of atomized paint in the air, but what do you expect in a closed basement? The unit is loud, so use your head and throw a pair of earplugs on or something. It's more quiet than most power tools. As for clogging or spattering, I had no problem: The people at Home Depot suggested using a few capfulls of Floetrol to thin the paint, which you'll find right next to the sprayers on the store shelf. I'm not sure what people are complaining about with the cleanup: As soon as you're finished using the unit, fill a small paint bucket (95ยข at most stores) with warm water and submerse all the removable parts. Let them sit for a half hour and then all it takes is a little rinse and scrub with the included brush. I was done cleaning the unit in 45 minutes, and that's with the half hour soak. This tool helped me finish in hours what normally would have taken a week or more. But don't buy it expecting it to make your crummy projects suddenly look beautiful; the sprayer is only as good as the person using it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Junk
Yes, this thing did frighten everyone in my neighborhood, yes it did take forever to clean, and yes, it does overspray like a banshee. What really makes this thing a piece of junk is that the piston kept wearing out on mine. Another reviewer says that it dosen't handle Behr paint which I guess I'm forced to agree with at this point.

I will say that for the brief period that it worked, this thing was marvelous. As for me, I'm going to keep exchanging this at Home Depot until I finish my project or Wagner goes bankrupt. When I'm done I'll return it for the last time or maybe drive over it with my truck until it cry's for mercy (like I have been). ... 1-0 out of 5 stars NOT A WAGNER FAN
I am shopping for this type of product.Over the years I have tried several Wagner products and found them all to be a poor value.I will definitely purchase a diferent brand.

4-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful time saver for large projects
I primed and painted four new rooms and trim using flat acrylic paint. The 1st setup and clean up each took about 30 minutes but subsequent setups and cleanups took 10 minutes. The consistency is wonderful but a quick light pass with a roller is recommend to even out the paint dispersement and user error. It took me a hour to prime four rooms and two hours to paint two coats of flat paint. Overall, I estimated a 75% time savings. Highly recommended. An earlier reviewer had mentioned a broken tip, this package comes with an extra tip and is easy to replace (1 minute)

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't expect anything from the Warranty !!
I used this paint sprayer to paint two rooms in my basement. After a couple hours of spraying. The tip of the gun west bust. I tired to it with hot water, but didn't help much. I don't expect this kind of situation from a new machine. I finished up the rest using roller. ... (dont' you just hate it after spending [money]
on the new machine two hours later the gun went busted.

One thing for sure, I will never buy any products from Wagner again. ... Read more
