ok, but.....
The description of this made it sound really great.Once I got it though, there are a few things to consider.For one, the thing doesn't fit in my chairs.It has elastic straps, but they are too short to secure around my recliner which is the only chair with a high enough back for me to use it.So I tried it with it just sitting in the chair.The lower functions for the low back and legs are fine, but the higher ones made my upper back and neck hurt worse.I have yet to try it in my car...I haven't wanted to dig it out of my closet.:(

Uncomfortable
It works as advertised.I would prefer a touch more heat.

The main issue I have is that it is uncomfortable to sit on for a long time.In particular the two leg motors stick up so that you feel pressure points while seated.

It is unfortunate, but I remove the unit when not using the message and heat.

There are now enough handheld global positioning system (GPS) receivers on the market that you can be choosy when it comes to price, features, and design. Garmin--a leading manufacturer of car, boat, and personal GPS receivers--has a complete line of eTrex handheld receivers, with our Legend falling about midrange.

With Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) support, the Legend offers extremely accurate readings (rated to within 2 to 3 meters). (For more on WAAS, see the Frequently Asked Questions section.) A good-size screen--288 x 160 pixels--makes it easy to see location details, and the Legend redraws maps quickly when zooming in or out of a position.

Its 8 MB of memory means there is also plenty of room for waypoints, routes, and saved tracks. The Legend will hold up to 500 waypoints, complete with a name and graphical symbol, 20 routes with 50 waypoints each, and it contains slots for 10 saved tracks. You can also download maps from Garmin's MapSource CD-ROMs (thorough but expensive accessories for the GPS receiver) to see street-level or topographic detail (depending on the CD-ROM title).

But one of the most striking attributes of the Legend is its comfortable and efficient design. While it rests easily in the palm of either hand, it's most suited for the left hand, where its handy click-stick can be manipulated with the thumb. The click-stick works like the pencil-eraser nubbin on laptop PCs and is handy for moving through screen icons and menus. It also works as a button when pressed down.

The Legend is coated with a waterproof, rubberized plastic shell that grips nicely. Weighing in at only 5.3 ounces, it fits into a pocket or clips onto a belt loop, going almost unnoticed.

The internal trip computer of the Legend provided a range of data about our hikes and drives, including current speed, average speed, trip distance, and time traveled (both moving and stopped). For those interested in checking out their foot pace and distance traveled, it's a handy GPS to have in hand.

Our only major beef with the Legend is that the receiver sometimes seemed to grow weak. Even when it wasn't in WAAS mode (which can be tough to maintain a signal in), it dropped the signal from time to time. We even lost the signal once while walking along the streets of San Francisco--it seems that the medium-size buildings were enough to interfere with the reception.

But this only happened on a few occasions. Most of the time the well-designed Legend was able to keep us in touch with up to 12 GPS satellites for a strong-enough read to maintain a tight handle on our location. --J. Curtis

  Reliability Problems with the e-Trek Legend
  Bought my e-Trek Legend in March 2002 for geocaching; initially it did ok, tracked well but lost signal often when under leafcover in the woods.Started noticing power shutoff problems when first turning it on;thought it was the battery connection, I'm beginning now to think it was poor/thin soldering in the manufacture.Now the click stick will only work in two of four directions.For what I paid for it, and as little as I used it, I doubt if I'll replace it with another Garmin e-Trek, they just don't seem substantial enough for hiking (to think, I cradled that thing like a baby in the woods, being careful with it!).

  My first one, not easy to figure out without book.
  Well, so far I kind of dig it. Its not easy to manage without learning it first. Its not a "duh obvious" operating system. I am trying to figure out still how to map where I have been but not save the whole thing. I want to save just legs.
  
  It is almost one hand useable, but some of the buttons are hard to press with one hand. It is a nice size and very easy to read. It does not come with any computer software and I am not sure how to get other maps on it yet.
  
  I guess I need to buy additional software. Its been fun playing with it since I bought it yesterday, now I need to learn the nitty gritty.

  Excellent little unit.. Handy to have.
  I've had this unit now for about a week Unit offers alot in a little package. Only Highways and State Roads on it, but shareware software on the web really made mapping possible and fun (GPS Track Maker v12). Has lots of POIs (Points of Interests) loaded from the factory.Unit seems very accurate (usually displays 18 or 25 foot accuracy in clear view of the sky).Picks up a good signal on the dash of my car.
  
  I wound up also buying the Mapsouce CD and loaded up all of CT. Fine details to all minor roads and points of interests.
  It did wipe out the factory maps some (noticed that channel or river bouys no longer in the unit, but the factory map can be reloaded at any time from Garmin's website).
  
  For the price ($130.00 thru Amazon) it's a fantastic unit. Don't bother with the Etrex Yellow and shoot for the Legend.

Great Storage System
The Hyloft is perfect for us, as we have a high ceiling in the garage and lots of things we want to save.I ordered 2 systems thru Amazon and initially tried to install them.I watched the video yet found the studs to be very difficult to locate.

Via the Hyloft website, I found a local operation to install them.The company, however, needs to make money as well and required me to have at least 4 units to install versus the 2 I bought here.I completely understood, especially given the drive time and fuel costs.

The Hyloft system itself is a great way to expand your storage and provide an archival system for things you just can't throw away.

I'm very happy I worked through an expert company who installs these daily.It took them less than 2 hours to install 4.They had to drill thru steel to access the wood stud, which was even hard for them.They Hylofts are now perfectly aligned along the ceiling which looks very clean.The extra cost was well worth it.

Great space saver
I have a small garage, and did not have enough space to store my 2 bikes.I recently purchased 2 of these, and problem solved.

This is a great product!My only advice to the manufacturer / installer would be to pre-drill a pilot hole for the wood screws because the phillips head stripped out too easy.I ended up getting some longer wood screws with a flat head (instead of phillips) and that worked better.

But overall, installation was a snap, and I am very satisfied with this product!

a sturdy and easy-to-use tire gauge
I bought this item back in May of 2001 for the two cars in my house.The tire gauge still works very well, and shows its readings in 0.5 psi increments.As advertised, the large digits are easy to read even in direct sunlight (I just verified that last week!).It works fine even as I'm nearing the fifth year of owning this handy item.It even looks brand-new because the case keeps it safe from scratches, dents, and dings that you are bound to get while it is stowed in the glovebox.

One thing that should be noted: people complained that it's hard to get a good seal to get a consistent and accurate reading.I bet it's because the tire's air nozzle was up or off to the side; I find that it's best when the nozzle is around the 6 or 7 o'clock position so that I can firmly press the gauge straight down.This means you have to crane your head a bit to read the digial measurement, but the important thing is to be able to press down straight & hard onto the tire's nozzle.

I've been using this gauge to check the tires more frequently since the season is changing, and also because I am on the road for longer periods of time. If not for anything, checking the air pressure makes me take a good and up-close look at the tires, and make sure that everything seems okay.At every check-up, this tire gauge was easy to use.I'd definitely buy this again, perhaps as a gift to someone who drives a lot, or as a replacement for myself if needed.

Dead at just over a year old
In addition to the previously discussed problem of getting a good seal, I tried to use it the other day, and found it is totally dead. Replacing the button cells did not correct the problem. Seems the lithium battery failed prematurely. Considering the seal problem, I doubt I will bother to pay shipping & insurance to return it to the manufacturer for repair even if it is within the 5 year warranty.

Obtaining Seal is Very Hard
I find it a struggle to get a good seal for proper measurement. My old fashioned mechanical gauge is much easier.

Makita Cordless Impact Driver Kit BTD200SH
This tool is a handyman's dream.I'm not sure whether this $549 price is for the impact wrench or the impact driver.The picture on this page is for the impact wrench, but the part number is for the impact driver (BTD200SH).The wrench version should have model number BTW200SH.I'd call up Amazon to confirm before ordering.I know for a fact Amazon is selling BTD200SH for $399.Do a search for BTD200SH on Amazon and you will see two entries:one 399, the other for 549.The price for the impact driver has tumbled everywhere else but Amazon, because Makita is reportedly phasing out this tool for reasons I don't know (hefty price?, hefty weight?, hefty size?).The price for the impact wrench version BTW200SH has not changed.An impact driver has a quick change 1/4" hex chuck, whereas an impact wrench has a square socket drive head. Only the impact driver has been discontinued. The identically built impact wrench version is still being manufactured and not discounted.

First a caveat: I am only a homeowner and not a contractor. I use my tools to fix my own home and a couple of my mother's rental properties. My views are from a novice user's/handyman's vantage point.

I bought this tool after a contractor, whom I hired for a major repair job, touted to me the benefits of impact drivers when used to drive long wood screws. The benefits are: no hand strain, dramatically reduced chances of stripping the screw heads, being able to drive screws that your regular drill/driver would not have a prayer's chance of driving in the first place.

How does an impact driver do all that? An impact driver works by combining rotational action (as on a regular drill) with a strong hammering action in the rotational direction. The hammering action doesn't kick in until the rotational resistance reaches a certain point. Here is an analogy to help you understand the impact action: if you've ever changed tires with a factory original one sided nut wrench, you'd pull the lever as hard as possible in order to loosen a nut. Sometimes the nut may be so tight that it may be stuck and the wrench won't move. What do you do? You reposition the lever of the wrench and you step hard on the lever a couple of times until the nut is suddenly loose. The stepping action is almost identical to the impact torque action of the impact driver.

The Makita BTD200SH has 1774 in-lbs. of maximum torque (or equivalently 149 ft-lbs, or 200 Newton-meters for the metrically minded). For comparison, most top-notice 18V drill drivers fall in the 475 to 550 in-lbs. maximum torque range. And most other impact drivers on the market range from only 800 in-lbs. to perhaps 1200 in-lbs. This easily makes the Makita BTD200SH the most powerful cordless impact driver by a huge margin, although Milwaukee has an 18V cordless impact wrench with an even higher torque rating (240 ft-lbs), but the Milwaukee is an impact wrench and not an impact driver. Unfortunately for the Makita BTD200SH, along with the most torque in the class title, it claims the most weight in the class title as well. It weighs a comparatively very heavy 6.3 lbs., even though most 18V and 24V drill/drivers easily weigh this much. Most impact drivers, on the other hand, weigh only 4 lbs. or less. Maybe a combination of high price, heavy weight, etc. led to poor sales, which then forced Makita to discontinue the product. The true weight aside, it doesn't feel that heavy in the hand because the T-handle is very well balance.

To use an impact driver, lay the tip of a bit firmly and perpendicularly on a screw head and press the trigger slowly at first. Because impact drivers have a very high rotational speed, it's best to start slow to prevent the tip from jumping out and stripping the screw head. Once the screw starts rotating, you can then increase the RPM. The amazing thing with impact drivers is you don't feel the reaction force. Although the impact driver is torquing the screws at 1774 in-lbs., you don't feel any opposing torque at all. It's simply amazing. Try using a drill/driver even at 500 in-lbs. and your wrist may twist off, but not so with an impact driver. The only thing you'll feel is the very loud noise of the impacting action. It will get loud enough when driving large screws that you will need ear plugs. Besides driving screws, it can also act as a drill, although it can only accept quick change drill bits with a 1/4" hex shank. I've not tried the drilling mode myself but numerous reviews from other users of impact drivers show that it can handily drill up to 3/4" diameter in wood. Larger holes may cause the tool to vibrate excessively because of the impacting action. I have a feeling this impact driver will retire my cordless drill/driver or at least relegate it to true heavy duty drilling tasks only.

The tool comes with a hard molded case, a 1-hr. quick charger, a 1.7 AH battery. I've read someone else's review on Amazon that the 1.7 AH battery holds enough charge to drive 1000 to 1200 1/2x12 lags before needing a charge(incredible), so maybe having only 1 battery is not too much of a drawback. I've not used mine often enough to verify the battery charge life. Still I bought a second kit, mostly just to get a second battery, which costs $130 retail anyway, and also to buy a second driver, charger, and hard case almost for a song before all the current closeout stocks are gone.

Wails on lag bolts, screws, and the like.
Don't be confused; this is not an impact wrench but an impact driver (different chuck) designed for screws and lag bolts of all types.That being said, the Makita driver is a dream. I use it for installing big 1/2" lag bolts (use a 1/4"- 1/2" socket adapter) into thick pressure treated pilings.I previously used a hammer drill, now those days of jerked wrists and rounded bolt heads are over.This one is smooth. It can easily drive a 40 Torx screw through a railroad tie, almost effortlessly.No more stripped sockets.I can drive any ware from 1000-1200, 1/2 x 12 lags before it needs a charge. It does get a little hot from extended continuous use, but this is only a minor inconvenience.If you need the power to drive and work all day, this is the tool. This tool has been dropped, left in the rain, and worked harder then any tool should be, but it comes back for more every time.The Makita driver seems almost bullet proof.The charger that comes with it is easy to understand.We have the adapter to jam Makita's 12 - 24-volt batteries. Stop what you are doing and buy this tool
If you're like me, and have been using a cordless drill to drive screws and lag bolts for construction purposes for years, put them away and buy this tool immediately!Here's the deal:

1) These makita impact drivers (12 volts) have twice the torque of your favorite (14-, 18- or 24-) volt cordless drill)

2) When you're driving a long screw into Southern Yellow Pine, decking, or construction lumber, you know that as much as the fastener is resisting turning into the lumber, that much reactive torque again is coming out the end of you're drills handle, forcing you to brace yourself, push with all your might, get worn out, etc.

I bought this tool a few months ago on the advice of a friend.A bad car accident some time ago relieved me of much of my former upper body strength, and I just could not apply the force required to drive 2-1/2" + construction screws or lags with cordless drills.Because the makita uses an impact mechanism to drive the fasteners, it sends zero reactive torque back to the user.none.zero.zilch.You can drive 6" timber screws through SYP or engineered lumber with this thing, even over your head or while leaning on a ladder, and they go right in, no fooling.You'll need to apply about as much pressure to the gun as you'd use to hold a can of beer.It's that powerful.

Three words:buy this tool!

Addressing some complaints:
A) It's loud.Yeah, so are circular saws, hammer drills, table saws, routers, vaccum cleaners, lawnmowers, planers, etc.See the connection?All these things can be found on CONSTRUCTION SITES.Construction Sites are NOISY PLACES.Don't use this tool (or any of the above) in the nursery while the baby is sleeping...

B) It's too powerful.Don't do fine detail work with this, like securing cabinet hardware or tightening electrical screws.Since you don't feel reactive torque, you don't know how badly you're stripping the screws and holes.That stuff is why we all still have screwdrivers in our toolboxes.

Great tool
Well, I had this tool for almost two years now and I am quite satisfied with it.It squeezes into tight places and is very light weight with plenty of torque. The only complaint I have is that the battery seemed to die a little quickly.I abused this tool a little (the trigger cover broke off, the variable speed no longer works and I dropped it too many times to keep count of), but it keeps working.I plan to get a 14.4 volt model next for a little more torque and battery longevity. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the batter issue.

Powerful quality
As a professional cabinetmaker/fabricator I have all manner of power tools (a half dozen routers, six drills, grinders, various saws, etc.), but this is far and away my favorite of the lot. Sure, comparing a router to a drill is silly, but some tools make you feel good while you're using them and others just don't get you very excited. Somewhere in that recipe for power tool bliss is a combination of quality, effectiveness, ergonomics, and several other mystery ingredients. This tool has them all.

With an all-metal gear housing, fine bearing and gear innards, and a sturdy plastic body, this tool just feels like quality. It purrs when you run it. It is light and compact, and for those of us who have gotten over the need for flashy macho power tools and have instead prioritized effective function over fashionable mega-volts sure appreciate a tool that gets the job done and doesn't give us tendonitis after a couple hours. You pros who use your tools all day know what I'm talking about. The compact size is great for cabinetmaking and working in smaller spaces.

This machine is plenty powerful. Makita and all of the other guys make 14.4V, 18V, and even 24V (paleeeze!) impact drivers, but I can't imagine how they would be necessary for 98% of the users out there. The guys at work won't snap towels at you in the locker room if you show up with this tool, even though it is only 12V. Once they see it in action they'll want one too! You can drive all day with this baby and the batteries last for an amazingly long time. I use mine mainly for driving screws into wood, but I've also used it for driving lag screws and other heavier applications. No problem.

There is one thing, however, that every potential buyer should know. This tool is not a direct substitute for a regular drill, even with the excellent optional drill chuck available from Makita. This tool drives fasteners into materials about as effectively as possible, but it is a mediocre drill. It will do in a pinch (I've even run taps with it), but it is more of a secondary tool than a primary drill. Use it in conjunction with your favorite power drill for best results. Building a deck and driving 1,000 deck screws? Buy this tool. Drilling a bunch of holes in metal, wood, or any other material? Get out your drill.

Garmin's eTrex Venture GPS receiver offers a host of track- and path-related programs and is surprisingly easy to use. Its size and design make it comfortable to use one-handed, and its automatic tracking feature and ability to download maps from optional CD-ROMs make it an excellent navigation tool.

Roughly the size and shape of a cell phone, the Venture has six buttons that are easily accessible by thumb and forefinger. The Power, Page, Zoom In, Zoom Out, and Find buttons are along the side, with the big-daddy navigation button (a directional click-button akin to a thumb-operated joystick) on the front above the screen. The side buttons are stiff enough that it's nearly impossible to accidentally push one. However, we found the navigation button to be a bit too stiff, which caused us several errors in entering waypoints.

Text was very easy to read--highlights are discernible and menu bars and clickable objects are well-defined. The unit also has an excellent backlight, which illuminates the whole screen with a white light, giving excellent contrast and viewing capability at night.

The Venture's interface is split into five different pages, each providing different functions. The main menu page gives you access to your saved routes and tracks, as well as setup for using WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation Service) reception, unit measurement, time, and display. These are all quickly rotated through with the click of the Page button on the right-hand side of the unit.

The map page displays the basemap included with the Venture, and for outdoor excursions it provides all the basics you'll need. It automatically tracks your movements and you can save individual tracks for later viewing. The map is zoomable from 500 miles to 20 feet depending on your preferences. You can place waypoints and places of interest on the map and name and change the icons of each to create your own personalized maps. If you decide you want to go somewhere, press the Find button and you'll get quick access to waypoints, your favorites list, and nearby cities.

The Venture features 1 MB of memory for downloading points-of-interest data--including lodging, business services, banks, and more--from optional CD-ROMs via the included PC cable. Unfortunately, for more detailed mapping you'll need to look to the Garmin eTrex Legend or Vista, both of which have larger memory capacities and the ability to download detailed maps.

Reception was, of course, best outside on a clear day, but the Venture retained most of its functionality under limited cover like small buildings or thick trees.

All in all, the Garmin eTrex Venture is a nifty little GPS tool and is ready to roll for your outdoor adventure. However, if you're looking to use more detailed map data with your GPS, the Garmin eTrex Vista or Legend would be a better choice. --Matt Deffer

Great GPS receiver for basic hiking and backpacking.
I returned a Cobra GPS 100 and upgraded to the eTrex Venture for the extra money. What a difference only a few dollars more can make! this is my first GPS unit ever, and I had no problems picking everything up within a day.

For starters, it only took about two minutes to locate a satellite for the first time (supposed to take up to five) and averages about 30 seconds to locate one in general. The screen resolution is easy to read and the options for customizing the map make it even easier if you have trouble reading small text. The waypoint markers are easy to define and edit. The compass seems to be very quick in picking up your movements. Almost everything is customizable giving you endless options for your specific use for the GPS unit. The unit is comfortable in the hand, although some of the buttons are a little stiff at first.

My satellite reception is excellent. I took it hiking in 40°F rain and hail (obviously very overcast) and only lost reception once while walking under heavy tree cover. On the way home I placed it on the dashboard and it tracked me 33 miles home without losing reception once. This was in 500 ft visibility fog on a one lane curvy mountain road. This unit definitely gets the job done.

My only gripes are there's no beep or sound when it loses reception and you have to press enter to acknowledge you have lost reception, thus it begins tracking you again. So if you hike by turning the unit on and placing it in your backpack, or even on your belt, you could have lost reception and not known it, and because you haven't acknowledged the unit, it's not tracking you anymore (as far as I can tell).

Other than that, this unit works perfect for getting you in and out of areas where there's no trails and finding that perfect spot to spend the night or fish and hunt.

Just OK, or maybe a bit less than that.
This was a mild disappointment. It is the second Garmin product that fails me, I also owned a Pilot II, whose firmware at some point lost its marbles, and now it displays only some pages and refuses to get a GPS fix.

The Venture had, almost from the beginning, a problem with the display, which flickered and became alternatively all black or white, or lost some horizontal lines, creating a nice "blinds" effect.

The problem normally went away by moderate slapping. But it is not a nice start.

Second point: the battery contacts are sub-quality, you just need to shake the unit a little and the electrodes lose contact with the battery, causing the unit to switch off.

Third: when the memory is fairly full, the operating system goes in overload mode, sometimes it does not manage to acquire the user input, and you find yourself trying to use the buttons without actually managing to do nothing. Erase the memory and the problem disappears.

Four: a few leaves overhead and you lose the fix, the sensitivity and selectivity is not great.

Maybe I had a bad firmware, who knows, but I don't want to change my firmware every month, I expect the original firmware to be OK for a while.

I just bought a Magellan, I'm curious to see if it's better or worse.

Used for both kayaking and geocaching
I purchased the Garmin Venture a year ago.I have used it on several 20 mile kayaking trips down a river and this past April used it for a 135 mile river trip.It was extremely accurate and we not only knew where we were, but how far it was to the next landing or landmark.

It did take some time to learn how to operate the unit.The instructions were not as clear as I would have liked but trial and error is a great teacher.I had a friend who got me interested in geocaching and that really helped me learn how to use all of the Venture's features.It is easy to upgrade from the Garmin website and to also download maps from the Mapsource CD-ROM's.It is kind of like learning to use a computer.Don't be afraid to try something.You won't hurt it.

I usually average 18+ hours on a pair of batteries.I also purchased a power cord so that I could use it in my vehicle.I just plug it in and wedge the GPS between the windshield and dashboard and follow the arrow to the next geocache.

I have been impressed with the toughness of this unit.I have dunked it in the river, dropped it, and generally given it a rough time.I would recommend this to someone who is interested in a GPS but does not want to invest a lot of money. ... Read more

Works well
This works quickly and easily.It is also very accurate.The best part about it is how easily the seal is obtained.No more wild hissing as the air leaks out while trying to read the pressure!

The "lifetime" lithium battery powers the gauge itself, but there is a second replaceable battery that powers the backlight. So, there are batteries to replace every so often if you want a backlight for the readout.

Best darn tire guage you can buy!!!
Though I did not purchase my guage from Amazon, I bought the same product at Sears. A tire guage has just one function, but you want to make sure it does it well. Those cheapo pen type guages are fine for most people, but you cant read them in the dark and I have found them in general to not be consistantly accurate. With a digital guage, you are assured an accurate reading everytime. What makes the accutire guage so much better is its quality. When you first pick it up, it just has that feeling of quality in your hand. However, its when you get down to business these really shine. You dont have to worry if the head is perfectly aligned with your tire valve. Just stick it on and push, and you have your reading. Couldn't be easier. lifesaver
We got married in July of 2004. We got this as a wedding gift and it saved us lots of money on our honeymoon. We traveled from Minnesota to Michigan and spent a week in Michigan. We were able to see lots of sites, because we didn't have to stop to eat. Excellent idea for a wedding gift.

Helpful Travel Cooler
This has been so helpful for us.We bought it three years ago when my daughter was nine months old, I was pregnant, and we were moving from Nebraska to Georgia. Mechanical un-reliable.

Test the first time: The spring pin is sticky (dc positive node) fail to spring back to original position when removing the inverter out of car socket.
Test the second, third time: Even with the spring pin stuck (loosing spring property), electrical function is still working fine.
Intend to exchange. Hopefully mechanical defect gone.

Things to think about before you buy:
Make sure your cigarette lighter socket has enough clearance around it to accomodate this large of an adapter.You may need one with a cord with the plug on the end to fit in your vehicle.

Not worth all the hassle for the power/battery
I think it is really unpleasing to have the power outlet and it is a real pain to have to worry about batteries... I don't think it's worth the price.I then found a ParkingTarget (ParkingTarget.com) which is non-technical, so it doesn't need power, and seems to work much better.You should consider it before making the mistake of buying this really expensive one.

Great Tool, Comes with 4 Bits
This Push Drill is great. I use it for making starter holes anytime I need to hammer a nail in, or to start a screw hole. For example, I was hanging pictures the other day, and instead of using a pencil to mark where I needed to hammer a nail in, I just used the drill to make a starter hole. The Amazon ad is misleading, though. At least the 3rd party seller (Blue Mountain) clearly states how many bits are included. Actually, Blue Mountain normally includes at least 1 extra bit free, for a total of 4 bits.

Misleading Ad: should be pulled or clarified
I purchased this tool and also found it came with 3 bits, two of which were the same size. Exhaustive searching has located no bits (beyond the two sizes already with the bit).

The ad should clearly state what bits actually come with the tool. As it is I now have a overpriced discontinued "antique" tool that can only be sold to another sucker. A search did turn up a modern reincarnation of the Stanley pushdrill made by Lara.

Misleading addvertisement

One of the best investment ever made
I currently owned and used my Dewalt 14v Cordless drill 983 model.I used this drill a lot when it comes to drilling wood screws/lag screws and there were times when this drill will twist.Although it has a torque setting it's not always consistent. Now ever since I bought the DW056 Impact driver it's a wonderful tool, you don't need to mess with the torque setting and the twisting is completely gone.If you're the type who likes drilling screws into wood or metal this is the tool for you.I'm currently using this driver more than I use the drill when it comes to drilling screws.It's worth the investment!!

Powerful, good batteries, cannot easily replace brushes
Overall this is a very powerful impact driver and stacks up well against other on the market.

Comfort and ergonomics:
The 90 degree angle is not as comfortable as other angled drivers from Makita, Hitachi and Bosch, although if you do a lot of fastener driving at shoulder level and above (HVAC and cabinet installs) the DeWalt could actually be more comfortable (check out how your wrist angles as you raise it up to shoulder level and beyond).The rubberized grip is very comfortable and it extends to the back of the tool for two handed impact driving.The soft grip covers the front of the handle (below the trigger) too which is good, since typically there is a ridge which joins the two plastic halves of the tools that gives you blisters during extended use.I think DeWalt has put significant thoughts on the user comfort here.

Batteries:
I believe XRP packs are 2.4Ah which is about the top end of Ni-Cd technology.Run time is good and the diagnostic chrager is on-par with other cordless tools.The automatic 'tune-up' mode is a bit of a glorified marketing thing since this is essentially trickle charging, which is done by almost any battery chragers after a fast-charge cycle.This basically tops-up the batteries by passing a small current over 8-10 hours, and is no different whatsoever to the old dumb chargers that perform overnight charging.Have to give DeWalt credit for creative marketing here.

Issues:
No bit holder, you'd think with such a large surface area on top of the large 18V battery they would put in a bit holder.There is also no way for easy replacement of motor brushes, this is a feature that is available on every impact driver from other manufacturers.

Not worth the money
This product is very expensive for what you get. A thick vinyl tarp, 55 feet of garden hose, and 2 stickers called tire guards.
I'm not sure exactly how this pad is made but it has to be the same material as a "Slip n Slide....Remember the long tarp you used to go sliding 90 miles an hour across the lawn on. This is the same thing. DO NOT walk on it with wet shoes or snow on your boots. It's so slippery that my car actually slides about 6 inches before coming to a stop after I pull in from a snowy day.

It does hold the water and sludge but not worth the money or injuries that could result.

Excellent Results from Carpads
I have used three Carpads and am now ordering another for a family member.My experience with Carpads is entirely favorable.I live in Wyoming where winters last 7 to 8 months, and cars often accumulate large quantities of snow and chemical slush that then melts onto the garage floor.The Carpads reliably contain this runoff.Small punctures and cuts can are readily repairable with duct tape.With reasonable car, my Carpads last at least five seasons.I have also used competing products, and they did not perform as well as Carpads.

I bought this for transporting a large musical instrument over long drives in the winter.So far it seems to have worked.My gripes so far are: 1. small.at least for the instrument.I got a second one, but for most folks using this for the "regular" reasons, it should be ok.A little larger would still be nice though.2. the plug fell apart.I was able to reassemble it, but it shouldn't have twisted apart on the third use.3. no temp control.It would be nice for the ability to set it on different temps, but this one heats to one temp only.It isn't too hot or anything, but sometimes I'd like to be able to regulate it more.4. it heats quicker when it is folded up.When it isn't, it may take a long time.
