Good quality, great price
I don't know what some of these people are compaining about.This product does an excellent job.I attached it to the wall in my garage near an outlet and now I have power anywhere.I did have a little difficulty getting my 100' of heavy duty extension cord to coil up properly the first time but it's worked great since I got it in the basket.Easy to use and seems sturdy enough.

Disappointed
I bought this a couple of years ago.It's a nice idea, but I am disappointed with how it works.If the jacket on your extension cord is at all wet, like when I rewind the cord after using my electric snow blower, it won't catch and rewind the cord.The reel will just spin.I have to press as hard as I can on the black thingy to even get it to engage under normal circumstances.Yeah it's sturdy, and when it works it is cool, but I am disappointed with how inconsistent it is.

Why did I not buy this years ago?
A handy little gadget.I use it to store 100' of medium duty cord for my snow thrower.Works great.It feeds out only the amount of cord I need and then I just put tension on the handle and start winding.Works flawlessly! ... Read more

Great Extension Cord
I bought this Extension cord to work with my Toro 38025 1800 Power Curve Snow Thrower I got from Amazon. I was a bit hesitant at first thinking I really didnt need 100 feet but now after 18 inches of Snow today im glad I got it. This cord works great! The color makes it very easy to see in the snow and with the added length I was able to clear Snow all the way to the back of my house and from both my neighbors houses. If you have an electric Snowblower then this is the Cord to go with!!!

Works as Advertised
This reel extension unit works just like I had envisioned.It's heavy duty 12-gauge for multiple power tools, good length to get around my shop and driveway, and extends and retacts just fine.Yes, it is big, but that's what a 12-gauge 50ft reel is going to be in footprint.Now, you could make this setup cheaper with a 50 or 100ft cord and manual reel, but I needed to hang mine on a 10ft. ceiling.This product works, it's big, and no problems noted on quality or mechanics.

Great Product!
Works as advertised.Unlike the first poster, I have had no problems with this unit.I have it mounted on the ceiling, and the retract function works flawlessly.It is a welcome addition to my workshop.Highly recommended.Oh yeah - the thing is BIG.

Frustrating
I bought this reel as a gift, but after inspecting the retract funtion, there was no way I was going to give this as a present. The retract function rarely worked, and once we got it to lock the cable out it wouldn't retract, we tried the directions and mounted it in the horizontal and vertical positions, nothing worked. For the time it took to get the cable to lock out I could have un-coiled an extension cable and coiled it back up. End result: for $100 it just isn't worth it. It works!
It's crazy long and orange, but man, does it pack a powerful electric bite! All you have to do is plug the male side into an outlet, and then plug the other end into the appliance you want to run. It works like a charm! If I wanted to, I could plug in my desk lamp and walk 4 houses down, knock on the door, and be like, "Hey, look, my desk lamp still works at your house!" There's so many advantages to owning this technological wonder. Buy now!

Great idea for the workshop
Great for controlling a number of bench power tools with a single switch. At the end of a project, just flip one switch and be assured all your tools are powered off. The 14 gauge wire is hefty enough for most "home" power tools and lawn equipment. The circuit breaker is a big plus. The clamp attaches to most surfaces securely, even on the top lip of a wheel barrel. My only complain is the swivel being a bit loose. Otherwise, it's a perfect addition to any workshop. ... Buy it, Use it
I've purchased two of these.

I'm a small contractor who does many non-structural remodeling jobs.I've been in construction for 15 years and have used many tools and many extension cords.

Since 12 guage cords are commonly available that is primarily what I've used in the past.My experience has been that most of my higher power tools do not run as well on them (even 25 foot cords) as they do when plugged directly into the wall.With the 10 guage cord I can no longer tell the difference.

My 15 amp chop saw, my worm drive saw and my 8 1/2 inch sliding miter saw all run perfectly with the 50 foot extension.I am even able to run my 1 1/2 horsepower Emglo compressor through a 25 foot length. I was never able to do this before -- the compressor was very fussy and I had never been able to use any kind of extension cord with it until I moved to 10 guage. ... Read more

works, but one big issue...
This works as advertised - solidly built. But there is one major problem - when you wind it both ends of the cable needs to be untethered.I woudl like to mount this a little far away from the power socket, so I want the power plug to be attached to the power socket. Excellent extension cord
Tuff sheath, sealed ends, heavy gauge conductors support high amp power tools. The receptical end has an LED indicator that illuminates when the cord is powered. Maintained flexibility in moderately cold environments, well sealed for moist damp areas (use a ground fault!) this is a quality extension cord for those using higher amperage tools and equipment you wont find a better one anywhere.

Professional grade
I have bought 3 of these.Excellent for running power tools.The lighted cord comes in handy since usually at clean/finish up time it is dark.Only down side is that it is heavy.However that is to be expected with this quality.Also too thick and rigid to tangle, big plus.Stain resistent.

Heavier gauge = more power!
Unlike the less expensive extension cords that are 14 or 16 guage, this one is 12 guage. This important aspect allows you to draw 20 amps of current to opperate your favorites tools without overheating the cord.
