Buy it, Use it
I've purchased two of these.

I'm a small contractor who does many non-structural remodeling jobs.I've been in construction for 15 years and have used many tools and many extension cords.

Since 12 guage cords are commonly available that is primarily what I've used in the past.My experience has been that most of my higher power tools do not run as well on them (even 25 foot cords) as they do when plugged directly into the wall.With the 10 guage cord I can no longer tell the difference.

My 15 amp chop saw, my worm drive saw and my 8 1/2 inch sliding miter saw all run perfectly with the 50 foot extension.I am even able to run my 1 1/2 horsepower Emglo compressor through a 25 foot length. I was never able to do this before -- the compressor was very fussy and I had never been able to use any kind of extension cord with it until I moved to 10 guage. ... Read more

Charging heaven
I recently bought a canon digital camera, and installed the alkaline batteries, that came with it.After 5 minutes, (maybe less), these batteries were goners.Apparently these cameras eat a lot of batteries.So, off to find the recommended NIMH style AA batteries.After stopping at a couple of stores, and getting some sticker shock, I went to the local Wmart, and found this charger for about 12 bucks, with 2 batteries included.I bought another 4 NIMH, (Rayovac), batteries to be on the safe side.This charger is easy to set up, just put the batteries in, and plug it straight into the wall.Charging is usually overnite, it can handle 4 NIMH batteries at a time.It also takes all other rechargables.I found that using this setup, with Rayovac NIMH batteries, my problem was solved.I can now take up to 250 pictures, w/flash if needed, before replacing with another set.I use this camera a great deal, and have only had to change the batteries a couple of times for recharging.A super buy for the money.

well,everybody says that when you charge it for a while,it loses power.when u first charge,u can use it for a while on anything,but after a while,the products you use it on will not last that long.But for me,as long as it charges,thats the important thing,but I guess you have to look at how much power it will have.It's cheap,so it really doesn't matter if you buy it or not,but at least you won't have to go to the store over and over!

This charger is like all chargers of its type: it will reduce the useful life of your batteries significantly. This is because it doesn't shut itself off or switch to a mode that releases infrequent bursts of power to keep the battery topped off. After ruining many NiMH batteries, I looked into the problem and found that leaving batteries in these simple chargers over the amount of time it takes to charge the battery will start heating the cell and cause outgassing of eloctrolyte, thus ruining the battery in time. Heard great things, but wouldn't shut off on my deep cycles
This review is for the 2/10/20 Amp version, but my guess is that the technology is the same.

Everything I read on this charger told me it was the best I could get (reviews, the user manual, the product description, etc.) However, they (I bought two) simply would not consistently shut off when done charging my deep cycle marine batteries.

I have fairly large batteries (one series 27 and two series 29) and am not sure if that has something to do with it. They get stuck at about 3.2 amps and don't shut off; one night I went to bed and one battery was at 3.2 amps and the next morning it was at 5 amps and the battery was hot and boiling over (not so SMART!). The other battery had been fully charged and the charger shut off. I switched chargers and batteries around and could not find one charger or one battery that it consistently happened on, so it can only be the charger's design. Yes, my batteries are fairly new and I maintain the water level religiously.

Beware if you have bigger marine batteries...the first few times you try any of the Vectors make sure you are home and can check on them now and then to make sure the charger shuts off!

Outstanding Battery Charger
I received my Vector VEC1093 this week. And tested it in the garage with my 12 year old son today.I have a car and a motorcycle that have 12 volt batteries.My car battery was just replaced and I want to get more life from this new battery (Sears Diehard Gold).My motorcycle sits usually except for weekends and this is very hard on the battery, but this one needs a low ampere charge.The VEC1093 surprised us with it's ease of use and performance as advertised.We put the motorcycle on two amps charge and the three stage process with beeps at each stage started quick and ramped down within a minute to what read 0.00 amps, then at a very low charge rate completed the charging.Green light signaled complete charge and FUL appeared at the digital readout, which read 0.00 two minutes before.Essentially the same result starting at 10 amperes for my car.It will also re-condition batteries ( my next test on my motorcycle).This replaces a Sears 2/10 charger that I have had for 15 years, but never seemed to help my batteries.And could not start a car. This one has starting power at 100 amps and extremely fast three stage charging up to 40 amps. Awesome clean DC charging and state of the art diagnostic features with re-conditioning. I searched and this is the BEST charger I could find.And it did work perfectly.
Now, my son is confident he could use it on both our car and our motorcycle. Better product than I expected.

A great product
I own an auto repair shop. My technition put his lab scope on this battery charger and said its output is the purest form of DC power he has ever seen, evan better than a cars alternator.
