    Editorial Review

The Wave is the flagship of the Leatherman line, and we would argue that it's the company's most versatile multitool to date. It comes loaded with 17 different tools, including everything from pliers to screwdrivers to wire cutters. We really like the Wave's quality construction, its four locking blades, and the fact that the user can get at the knife without having to open up the whole tool--a nice improvement over the original model. While nobody's going to replace a tool set or do major auto repairs with the Wave, it's absolutely invaluable for a wide range of quick, on-the-spot jobs. --Brian Trinen ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice tool! Sheath not very "Deluxe".
The tool looks very useful and well made but the sheath looks like a piece of junk.

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't leave the bedroom without it
I have had the wave for years now, and I have finally worn it down to where I need to get a new one. This thing has been at my side and provided me with countless experiences of being able to fix something ON THE SPOT.The weight is not too heavy at all for me. The scissors work great (I have even cut stainless steel shim with them). The pliers have been used for numerous fixes and the jaws of mine have finally worn smooth. The wire cutters have worked great. The hard wire cutter has never failed me unless I am trying to cut steel cable (a difficult task for any pair of plier-like cutters), but even then I can still manage to do it.The screwdrives have been abused yet still function very well. The blades accept a good sharpening and last for a good while after sharpening. The file is bar-none the BEST file on any multi-tool I have ever seen, and is better than most dedicated files I have used. The diamond file is spectacular. The single-handed blade opening and single-handed plier opening are features I have come to depend on.This is just a great tool that allows me to GET MORE DONE!The leather sheath is also very rugged yet quickly became supple and remains a durable home for this tool.
No, it's not the perfect tool for any one specific task, but it is a very useful tool nonetheless and serves it's purpose without fail.I am amazed mine has lasted as long as it has considering how often I use it, which is pretty much every single day.If I am wearing pants or shorts with a belt, then I have my leatherman. The only nuisance is I have to remember to pack it in my luggage prior to flying!
Worth every penny, and then some.

4-0 out of 5 stars A nice try with room for improvement
I am a hunter, knife collector, long range bicycle rider, fisherman and construction worker. I have used a leatherman wave for the past 7 months. While it is by far the best multi tool I have ever seen, it most definitly not without it's faults. The biggest general problem is the tiny standard blade. It will cut paper and a few other things, but it's not suitable for large tasks. Another problem is the "wire stripper". This lousy feature is not much better, if any than a standard utility knife at stripping wire. Stripping wire like this simply wastes time. The well made scissors could easily be replaced by real wire strippers, or you could make the tool larger and fit both which would make this a far better device for those who use tools for a living. The final problem is a lack of a small phillips screw driver. This is a a very important tool which I hope will be included on future models. I personaly think leatherman would do well to make their tools fifty percent larger so they could include bigger blades, a real wire stripper and a much smaller philips screw driver. The wave is tiny and making it a little bigger would not really sacrafice portability. Even with it's problems this tool has served me well. If you have a need for such a tool the wave is the best out there. By the way, I never did get a tool adaptor so I don't know what to tell you about those. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars one of the best.
    pros:

    1)durable,good steel quality,excellence anti-rush finish,well build,strong and heavy duty.

2)victorinox's brand name and warranty, need i say more?

3)unlike the spirit, this one had a great ruler......

    cons:

1)the file in original and x model seems to made of casehardened steel,so the plating will chipped off(i suggest the RS model the best)

2)they should minus the big flat screwdriver and use individual spring.

3)not needlenose pliers!(a must have for folding pliers)

4)u cannot adjust the tool yrself since u can't unscrew the tool, becos it use pin as the pivot pin.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not the RS
When you order this item you get the pictured SwissTool. You do not get the RS.It's still a great tool, though.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best multitool
I have great experience with that tool. In my work, all my technicians and my partners use that tool in a different kinds of field activities. The tools are versatile and durables. I tried the leatherman wave too, but itsn't the same quality. I recommend the Victorinox CS PLUS Model, with a useful scissors and a six bit set!!! ... Read more

The Micra's ultracompact design harbors 10 tools and weighs only 1-3/4 ounces, so it really is small and light enough to be carried comfortably in a pocket or on a key chain. The scissors on the Micra are extremely effective, and the tweezers don't detach (and get lost), as do those on traditional pocketknives. 5-0 out of 5 stars Compact and very cool
The Leatherman Micra is a very nice little tool. It has an ingenious compact design that holds a lot of tools inside. The main tool you see after opening it up is the scissors, which are very strong. You can cut staples and cardboard with these scissors, along with the other stuff you cut with scissors (papers, string, etc.). There are 3 types of screw drivers which you can use for a variety of screws, ranging from small to regular sized. There's the tweezers, which are better than the ones in the Swiss Army Knives and are attached to the tool so you can't lose them. There is a knife which is pretty sharp. There's a can opener, which you might not use much here but when you go to various countries outside the U.S. they have more bottled soft drinks so you can try them out. There's also a nail file (comes with a cleaner) and a ruler.

The whole knife closes nicely, and it's all stainless steel. Overall, this knife would make a great addition to your keychain so that you can have it with you at all times, and you'll be happy you brought it when it comes in handy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product
I was given this product used as a gift by a customer at a store. My initial response was that it would be useless, but I now carry it in my pocket quite frequently.A scissors is one of the most useful portable tools to have.Unlike other pocket knifes (e.g. swiss), the scissors on the Leatherman Micra is useable, even for cutting annoying plastic packaging on electronics.I will note that the tweezer side sometimes allows pocket lint onto some of the tools.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very nice!

4-0 out of 5 stars Cool, but a little too small
This knife is smaller than I expected. And I do like the one my friends have, a litter bigger, but nice if you want to cut papers or some big size thing. Using this one, you must bare the slowness because it's so short for most of things you need to cut, Even apple & oranges.

Anyway, if you just want to have a cute tool for your key ring. That's a ideal choice, otherwise, choose a bigger one!

4-0 out of 5 stars great pocket stuff
bought one for my gf and she loved it, and also bought me one.

fits on key chain very well. the scissors and tweezers are especially useful. the knife is small, though.

5-0 out of 5 stars Where do they disappear to?
I don't know why, but I cannot keep one of this type Victorinox Swiss Army knife for longer than a few months. I once bought one in Switzerland with my name engraved on it and it disappeared. I have a poor quality Chinese knock-off that for some reason does not disappear. I've had a Case pocket knife for 15 or 20 years, no problem. This time I'm buying three. ... Read more

A member of Leatherman's new Juice line of multitools, the metallic red C2 Inferno might pack the fewest tools, but it features the sleekest, most compact profile. A remarkably stylish unit, the Inferno sports cool, metallic red, anodized-aluminum handles that are curvy and comfortable to hold. A straight knife, corkscrew, and bottle/can opener are quickly accessed from the outside of the tool. Like all Leatherman tools, the Flame butterflies open, exposing needle-nose pliers, wire cutters/stripper, an extra-small screwdriver, a small screwdriver, a large screwdriver, and a Philips driver. We especially like the satisfying way these Juice models positively click into the open position. The individual tools are all made of high-grade stainless steel, the same quality found on other Leatherman tools. The only difference between the red Inferno and the orange S2 Flame is that the Inferno comes with a corkscrew (the Flame has scissors), making it a handier tool for partiers. Stylish and compact, the Inferno makes a great gift--it's the perfect tool to carry in a purse or briefcase. --Brian Trinen ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A must-have tool at your next picnic!
A note on the corkscrew: While the corkscrew and assist work very well and better than any corkscrew-only design I've ever seen, you do need to take a minor bit of care to line up the assist's single "leg" dead-center on the bottle's neck or it will slide off.A regular "waiter's friend" has a two-legged assist that's self-centering, for comparison. But, a waiter's friend won't have a blade that's nearly as sharp as this one, not to mention it won't have pliers or screwdrivers. The screw works equally well in real cork and the new plastic corks.

The "3-D" Phillips driver blade is a joy compared to the totally flat wanna-be imitations of screwdrivers I've seen on other pocket tools. It's multi-talented in that it fits both #1 and #2 screws.

All in all, this is yet another fantastic creation from Tim Leatherman. This one's earned a permanent place on my keyring.

3-0 out of 5 stars blood
Interesting.I haven't bought this knife yet, but I might, beacause I like it -- but in the Target store I took it out of its pkg & opened all the blades -- and yep, later I noticed I was bleeding.Hmmm, and here I thought it was just me being clumsy......

5-0 out of 5 stars good tool

1-0 out of 5 stars YUCK!
Nice idea, but the blades will fall out when pressing down hard while cutting and frequently will not retact without holding the release and pushing the blade back in.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product. Great design.
This heck of a tool is an incredible time saver for drywall installation. I can have a fresh blade with a click of a button. The knife is also hefty in your hand and very comfortable to hold. There are no annoying and unsafe release buttons on top to push the blade back when you are really pushing on the knife to deeply score drywall. I would give it six stars if it was Made, IN the USA instead of Taiwan. But it seems to be a quality tool nonetheless.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Tank of a Utility Knife
This is a well-made utility knife. The auto-loading squeeze handle snaps the blade out firmly, and the release button retracts the blade into the knife housing. The knife is well-constructed and should stand up to daily abuse. The easily-accessed spare blades compartment is also a plus. There are however two shortcomings - (1) the knife is quite heavy, so if you use the knife a lot it will fatique your hand and arm quicker than other utility knives, and (2) the blade only snaps out all the way, you cannot release the blade just a little bit at all, it is all or nothing at all. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars An excellent knife that lasts
Swiss army knives are an excellent investment. Victorinox is known for its reliability, durability and usefullness, and this knife is one of the best. There are so many tools here that you just can't go wrong with it.

Victorinox knives are a great gift for men. I think women would like this too, once they see how useful it is (there are various other Victorinox knives for every type of taste). Your friends will be impressed when they see your super-utile tool. This knife is worth every penny (it's the cost of a few movie and restaurant outings after all), and make sure you keep it with you whenever you go camping, around the house, in the car, or anywhere. Having this Victorinox knife is like having a whole toolshed in a small, compact, portable, and elegant package. There are two main blades, a long one and a small one. Then there are the very useful scissors, which work very well. There's a little saw, an awl, a corkscrew, a fish scaler with doubles as a small ruler, and even a magnifying lense. There's also a really cool little pen. There are screw drivers and can openers, and much more.

I have owned several Swiss Champs over the years. I have uesed the saw to cut 2x4s on many ocassions and have cut down trees up to four inches in diamater. I have used the file to cut barbed wire on ocassions . I find it very handy. I find the pliers rather small but I have had many uses it for.I use the siscors mostly for cutting small ropes .It is the best pocket knife that I ever used .I used on a farm and used it to do many small repairs jobs on the farm . I no longer live on a farm but I still use the knife every day.

As a Leatherman Wave owner, you know how versatile a tool it can be. This customized Tool Adapter makes it even more so. Designed to slide over the pliers and lock in any of three positions (straight, 45 degrees, and 90 degrees), it turns the Wave into an effective 1/4-inch hex drive capable of reaching into some pretty tight spaces. While certainly not intended to replace a more powerful drive on high-torque jobs, the Tool Adapter is well-suited for everyday applications and accepts any standard 1/4-inch hex drive bit. For added convenience, it comes with six hex bits and a carrying case you can clip on your tool belt. --Carl Thress ... Read more

I hope I'm not breaking any rules here but I just think everyone should know you can get this same tool much cheaper at www.YourBestDeals.net

This guy is dead wrong, its much much higher for wave tool that doesn't even come with a leather pouch and couple bucks higher for the tool adapter.

Personally, I wouldn't go the route of this tool as the wave does everything I need it to do in data networks and minor repair uses. My boss and I use our wave pretty much daily and I recommend it to all my cisco classmates.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice Accessory, On or Off of the Wave
This Tool Adapter for the Leatherman Wave comes with 6 hex tips and a black plastic case, 2 5/8x2 1/4x3/4 inches in size with a belt clip on the back, in which the adapter and tips fit snugly. The case is no bigger -and may indeed be smaller- than a screwdriver-type handle or ratchet wrench and tips. So if you already carry a Wave, the adapter might be the practical way to go if you use hex tips. It will accomodate all standard 1/4 inch hex tips.

The tool adapter fits onto the top of the Wave when it is closed. The tip has 3 positions to choose from: straight, a 45 degree angle to the Wave, and a 90 degree angle (perpendicular) to the Wave. The adapter works fine for light work. I would hesitate to use it for a job that requires a lot of torque because the adapter is not super-secure in attaching to the Wave. On these occasions, I would use the adapter without attaching it to the Wave. In fact, the adapter can easily be used on its own, and that is actually preferable in many instances. If you need to get into a small space or have trouble reaching, attach it to the Wave.

Bought this on sale in a (Target) store.I would have been more disappointed had I paid full price. The knife blade and the scissors were very dull. The knife blade appears to be too soft to be used as a cutting tool.It won't hold an edge. The mis-alignment of the scissor blades prevents them from making a clean cut. The flashlight that came with it had switch problems out of the box and spontaneously came open (unscrewed) in my pocket.<br /> <br /> <br /> The Phillips screwdriver is very good and the pliers are fair. I bought this to replace a small Swiss Army knife that I lost.I'm going to get another. The $10 Swiss Army knife (Victorinox) does fewer things, but the blade and the scissors hold an edge and cut very well.It has a toothpick too.

4-0 out of 5 stars Eddie Bauer - Surprising Quality
As the owner of several American made multitools, I was somewhat skeptical when I received the Eddie Bauer as a gift.On closer inspection, I must say that the fit, finish, and quality is first rate.I don't believe that the strength is equal to, say, a comparable Leatherman, but then again for non-professional use it's more than adequate.

I especially like the integral hex bit driver and scissors (always a nice option). All tools lock similarly to the old Leatherman system (move an implement to the 90 degree position to unlock the implement in use). The attractive well-made belt pouch houses the tool and bit accessories.

All in all it's a good value, and I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't have the dough to go for a pricier make. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Arguably the very best multi-tool out there
I've owned SOG, Proto, Gerber and a few other Leathermans but without a doubt, this is the very, very best one that I have used to date. It has heft, a comfortable yet powerful pliers grip that doesn't bite into your palms, backwards compatibilty with the earlier Leatherman accessories, a well-thought-out array of "tools" and a terrific positive lock mechanism that secures the selected "tool" in the open position. The leather case is a bit obtuse for quick access but one quick visit to the Leatherman website and I purchased a ballistic nylon case with velcro closure and a loop for my Mag-Lite AA flashlight. I wear it every day and have reached for it countless times. If you're in the market for a quality big-league multi-tool, do yourself a favor and take a long, hard and close look at this beauty from Leatherman. I don't believe you'll be disappointed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Essential!
If every company produced products like Leatherman and backed their products like Leatherman, the world would be a better place.I use my Supertool every day and feel lost without it.It's like a comprehensive tool kit in one small and sturdy package.Even if I forget every other tool I need for a job, I usually can still manage if I have my Supertool with me.Thanks Leatherman for making something actually worth every penny I paid... times 1,000!

5-0 out of 5 stars A great Improvement
I own a Leatherman supertool, and it has served me faithfully for a long time. When Leatherman came out with the "200" I knew instantly that I had to upgrade, and I haven't been disappointed. The curled edges and lock releases were perfect additions to a nearly perfect tool.Obviously, a multi-tool is no replacement for a well stocked tool box.Be especially careful with electrical work.I was removing a Battery from a truck and accidentally touched the terminal screw and the frame at the same time. The arc ruined the tip of the medium flat tip screwdriver.Of all the multi-tools I've tried though, this is the best one hands down, and for what it is, nothing compares. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Good quality, outdated tool selection
Victorinox makes fine products, and this model is lovely, classic, and durable. However, it is missing tools that you will probably want, such as scissors, while including things you rarely use. (Also, a blade that locks open is preferable for safety.) Pick another model and you (or your gift recipient) will be happier.

5-0 out of 5 stars Quality knife, lightweight for size
Attractive design with tough, durable red handle. I carried a Case Trapper forever and a couple of years ago started using a Victorinox Tinker. For its length and contents, it is relatively slim and very light. So light in fact you may think it wouldn't be as durable as it is.
This is my 2nd one, which I went out and bought immediately after I lost my first one, so I'm sold on it, there's really only one thing I don't like about it.
The phillips driver extends from the side, making it useless in many applications because it requires so much space to turn. The can opener blade has a slot tip that will work in a pinch in most phillips screws though. On this knife I have now, which I've used and admittedly misused several times a day for a couple of years, I've broken the tips off both blades and reground them, the can opener slot tip and the big slot tip, so alas, the knife is not indestructable.
-I have gone through a lot of knives in my lifetime.
BTW, the stainless steel blades sharpen better than most ss blades it seems, at least that is my experience.
I haven't noticed the keyring thing being a problem at all, actually I like it to be there.
I've found this knife to hold up well in extremely rough use compared to the much heavier Case Trapper, found it's slim width and light weight to carry well in my pants pocket and have been well pleased with the durability of this knife, considering how I've mistreated it.

5-0 out of 5 stars A simple and yet amazingly versitile and reliable knife!
The Tinker was the 1st Victorinox knife I got. I've had it for about 10 years now. It's got the scratches and wear marks that only a very used knife can have and yet functionally it is still in perfect shape. I've been able to keep the 2 blades razor sharp through the years with only occasional sharpening. The bottle opener and can opener double as tough flathead screwdrivers and the philips head screwdriver on the other side is solid as a rock. This knife has gotten me out of a jam many a time and is probably my most treasured item in my tool collection. A must have for the handy-man type! ... Read more

    Editorial Review

This is the tool that started the Leatherman revolution. Despite the introduction of new and more elaborate models from Leatherman, the Original remains a popular tool. We like the tough, compact design of the Original, as well as the high quality of the blades and tools. The jaws of the pliers are extremely tough. The Original packs a pretty impressive assortment of tools, including wire cutters, a knife, a metal/wood file, a can/bottle opener, an awl/punch, a nice assortment of Phillips screwdrivers, and more--all perfect for quick, on-the-spot jobs. It's true that the big knife blade would be more effective if it faced the other way, and that having to open the whole thing to get at any of the tools is less than ideal (both issues have been addressed in Leatherman's Wave). But it wasn't so long ago that the Original Leatherman was the only choice, and it's still a great addition to any toolbox, remaining just as handy as when it first came out. --Brian Trinen ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Wondeful little tool
Put your Swiss Army Knife dreams to rest and instead buy this handy little tool, that packs convienance and utility into a package that's a mere 4" by 2" and comes with a sleek carrying case.

I've had Victorinox tools before, and sure they look nice, but they can't hold a candle to the Leatherman in terms of sheer utility. The leatherman includes a knife, a file, scissors (effective, sharp scissors at that), several screwdrivers of varying sizesin both Phillips and Slothead, a bottle-opener, and of course the integral pliers and wire-cutter.

The tool is stong, the wire-cutters can cut through metal (I was bored and chewed through some pennies), and more importantly, very safe. When using the knife or screwdrivers, one does not have to worry about applying too much pressure and forcing the blade down on a finger, for closing the tool with the blade outside prevents injury.Highly reccomended.

4-0 out of 5 stars Letherman, The Original and Still The Best
I received my first Leatherman PST in 1994. I have carried it almost everyday since. If I forget it at home, it is like leaving the house without your watch, you soon realize just how frequently you use it.

The only negative thing I can say about this tool, is that the blades and the screwdrivers don't lock in place. This is less critical with the blades because you push against the blade and it stays put. However, the screwdrivers do need to be locked down when you are cranking hard on a stuck screw. The tool will sometimes close up, pinching your fingers (this is the reason I give the PST 4 stars instead of 5). You can tighten the hinge to prevent this, but then the tool is harder to open and close, and hinders single handed operation.

****UPDATE 10/20/03 My PST is from 1994. I "believe" the newer PST has a different type of screwdriver, that is angled to reduce the possibility of it closing up on you (But I still like the Wave better)****

The best way to deal with this is to get the better Leatherman; the Wave. It has locking screwdrivers and is more comfortable in your hand when clamping down on the pliers. Not to mention it has more features.

If you are a "tinkerer" or "a fixer" type person, you need a Leatherman. Trust me, get the wave, you will own it forever and you won't regret it.

I am a professional and often wear business attire, the belt case hides nicely right next to my beeper. If I lost my Leatherman right now, I would stop on my way home and pick up another one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply The Best
If your wondering which brand to buy between Leatherman And SwissTool etc. well can I just suggest you watch any programs on Discovery Channel about explorers or adventure sports participants and see which one they chose. I have only seen leatherman.

I personally have owned the PST for about 4years and only recently had the misfortune of chipping the head on one of the screwdrivers from well a little misuse (opening a screw that was to big for the head) I sent it back to leatherman and they not only fixed the driver but sent me a whole new tool in replacement which means all the wear and tear such as a slightly blunt blade are now all gone.

I like the new 20th aniv. Wave so I just bought it along with the P4 which is a cool little keying, lets just hope they serve me as well as the PST has and will continue to do. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Used To Be The Best...
The original Leatherman used to be the best thing around until they outdid themselves.I still own this original Leatherman (in any form they are better than the best Swiss Army Knife) but by contrast this version of the Leatherman is awkward and painful to use.If you really need a grip when the item is open the edges of the handle bite into the hand. The blades, as are all tool here, are inside, and nothing locks into place.I strongly recommend picking up almost any other Leatherman than this one, if you really need one you'll be glad you spent the extra money.

4-0 out of 5 stars The knife I love to hate
There are things about this knife I don't like, but then I find myself carrying it more often than any other knife I own.

    Here's what I like:
1.Assisted opening. I own several, and I don't think I'd buy a regular opening knife again.

    2. The clip is superior. It's strong (one reviewer commented about lateral pressure damaging it...why on earth would you do that?). Best of all, only the clip shows in your pocket, not part of the top of the knife as with almost all others.

    3. It's incredibly sharp. I can shave hair off my arm with it with no problem.

    4. It's incredibly light weight for the size (I have the Zytel handle)

    5. It's very resonably priced.

    And...what I don't like

    1. The steel is not as good as I'd like. It's "good" quality steel, but not great. Plus it's a straight flat grind, which is asthetically boring.

    2. The blade thickness is not what I expected. I haven't tried anything extreme with it, so it's not been an issue.

    3. Yes, the safety will very occasionally latch in your pocket. However, you have to be insane to get into a knife fight...nobody wins. Using a knife for defense is nuts. When I was a deputy, I saw real-world results...dear God! Get a concealed gun permit if you're worried about self defense.

So...I give it 4 stars. I have a Kershaw Blur that I like better except for the clip, which leaves about 1/2" of the handle exposed. I don't know why they would design it that way. When I carry it, I just carry it in my pocket without clipping.

If you want a quality, inexpensive utility knife, this is it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Good honest review
The Flash line of knives look very "Cool" however, there is a list of dislikes:
#1 Lock/unlock button freely rattles around while blade is in closed position. #2 main boltster repeatedly comes completely loose & requires "locktight". #3 Safety engauges sometimes while in pocket-leaving you with a limp knife in your hand-not good in emergencys #4. Blade is on the thin side but, is very sharp. #5 When blade is in open locked position there is some play, leaving blade a little shaky. Handle is nicely "Knurled" to prevent slipping though.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great knife at a Great price !
I have used and collected a number of knives over the years. I have to admit I am Totally Brutal to my knives and I find out quick if a knife is well made or not.
In my honest opinion My SOG knives especially my Flash II knife is a great knife to have!
These knives are well made and well designed with a great life time guarantee, Not too many knife companies give you a lifetime gaurantee and shapening too! No other knife company besides Cold Steel will give you more Bang For The Buck !
I've Never Ever had a problem with any of my SOG knives and I'm sure you will find the same true too. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

Packing 14 individual tools into a remarkably compact, metallic blue, anodized-aluminum body, Leatherman's cool new CS4--a.k.a. the Glacier--is a midsize member of the company's exciting, new Juice line of multitools. Only 3-1/4 inches long, and weighing a mere 5-1/2 ounces, the Glacier really is small enough to carry comfortably in your pocket. Like other Leatherman tools, the Glacier butterflies open, exposing the needle-nose pliers/wire cutters/wire stripper, with access to three flat-head screwdrivers, a Philips driver, and a lanyard attachment--the same tools you'll find inside Leatherman's KF4 Solar. The Glacier's handles, however, harbor a different combination of tools that are perfect for picnickers: scissors, a can/bottle opener, corkscrew, a saw, an awl, and a straight knife. Like the entire Leatherman's Juice line, the Solar positively snaps into the open position, and the individual tools are all made of high-grade stainless steel. The Juice multitools do lack the blade-locking mechanism found on Leatherman's Wave, but the blades click crisply into place and hold securely. Looking for a gift for your favorite technophile or gadget lover? You can't go wrong with the Glacier. Made in the USA. --Jon Groebner ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Leatherman CustomerService, Take 2
Clearly, I owe the fine folks at Leatherman an apology.I had dissed Leatherman's customer service in a prior review (scroll down..), whining about a minor, self-induced problem.Come to find out, they (including the Main Man, The Head Honcho, The Connection - Tim Leatherman)had made several attemts to contact me in effort to address my complaint (whine), but all their attempts were deflected courtesy of my email blocker settings.Through their continued efforts they were able to contact me through other means.Sooo, here I stand, embarrassed for badmouthing such a fine company and terriffic product.Sorry.

The CS-4 and I remain inseparable - it's an integral part of my everyday life.In fact, I have gone on to purchase half a dozen or more as gifts for friends (including a Wave for myself), only I had them properly engraved/etched this time as recommended by the manufacturer.

    Christmas is coming...

2-0 out of 5 stars CS4 tools needs improvement
We bought two of this because it looks so great in the review and advertisement. After using it for a month, there are some flaws, which should be improved to make it a practical tool. Does anyone know what's the awl for? To us, it is too blunt to be useful. It should have sharper edge so we can actually open envelopes, remove staples, etc. The set of screw drives is comprehensive but take care not to exert too much force on them especially the small one, the tip WILL BEND. Anyway, it was be repaired with the other CS4 :-). If you are a Swiss knife user, you will find the Philips screw tip drive too big for common screws found in the office. Also, you should be real careful about the blade, cause it is really sharp... it hurts but we love it. If you are not too fussy about the strength of the tool, go get it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great little Multitool
I recieved this a gift and I can tell you that it's one of the best tools I've ever used. However, I do have two concerns. One is that the blades don't lock which means that if enough pressure is applied, it can hurt someone by folding in. As well, the saw has a tendency to fold onto the awl, I have to use quite a bit of force to make sure that it folds properly. However, the blade is really sharp and the screwdriver bits are the best I've ever seen. As well the tools open with a solid click which is somewhat reassuring. This tool is right for you if your looking for a small multi-tool that will be used for general not industrail use! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Handy little workhorse
I've had this particular model for the past 9 years and it works great. Someone else said that the tools don't lock, but mine do and they always have. All of the tools are still in great working condition, nothing is broken, and I use it pretty heavily as a stage technician. I truly consider myself a Leatherman girl (over Gerber anyday), and this tool is great for someone like myself who has smaller hands, but needs a good amount of tools to get the job done. I recently upgraded to the Blast only because I need some more tools in my Leatherman after all these years.

    Editorial Review

We think they call it "Legend" for good reason: You'd be hardpressed to pack this many tools into the space that the Gerber Legendtakes up. Inside this impressive little package, you'll have access tono fewer than 12 tools, including tungsten carbide-steel blades. Allthe hardware is stainless steel, mounted on a nickel-coated die-castaluminum handle set that feels like it was made for your hand. Thezirconium nitride hard wire cutter insert has three edges, and it'sreplaceable, so you'll never be without a laser-sharp edge. The Legendincludes the wire cutter, a combination edge and serrated drop-pointknife blade, scissors, can opener, hack saw, Phillips, small, medium, and large screwdrivers. Each stainless-steel component snaps into placewith a solid locking system. We think it's the perfect pocket tool.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars only a little better than a rock
In one month of use, this knife broke in four places. I sent it back with a few suggestions like "The metal seems a bit brittle, perhaps something that bends first..." Althouth Gerber quickly replaced the knife, they included a note to me with the phrase "Your concerns are not a reflection of our product." With this level of both customer care and commitment to improving their products, Gerber fails miserably. I Therefore consider this tool only a little better than a rock. I threw out the knife (not wishing to share the pain of owning it) and bought a Leatherman which I have been unable to dent in 3 months.

5-0 out of 5 stars best tool ever made
This multi tool is so good that I had to think to myself is this for real! The tool is almost half the original price and I say worth every penny for the whole price. The scissors cut through my jeans, the spring loaded pliers are great, and the locking mechanism is wonderful. It is perfect for my big hands and is light too. Lastly the wire cutters cut through anything as well as the remgrit saw blade which is REPLACEABLE!This tool is the best off all time and I would recommend this tool to any heavy duty worker. I love it and I think you will to.

2-0 out of 5 stars The Gerber 600 is much better
I bought this for my boyfriend and promptly returned it.I was getting it for him to replace his lost 600.The things that we did not like about this tool were:
    1) cheesy black grippy things that looked like they were going to come off if wet, and
    2) you can't do the cool thing where you hold the multitool, flick your wrist, and the pliers extend with a satisfying little snap!
It's also a bit larger than the 600, so unless you have big pockets or don't care about size, you might want to go for the more compact 600. ... Read more
