Toooo Big for Suitcases
I bought this lock thinking that it would be the right size for my various travel suitcases.

Sure enough, as previous reviews have mentioned, this lock was tooo thick to fit through the holes of any suitcase!It was tremendously heavy as well.

It's a great sturdy lock worthy of the Masterlock name.....just don't buy it for your suitcase.You have been warned.

Check your luggage first.
I bought these locks to go on my luagge.They seem pretty sturdy but are much too wide to be put through the holes in my bag zippers, and I've had to return them. I haven't measured how wide the locks are, but my bags are pretty typical in size; if they don't fit on my bags my best guess is they won't fit yours either. ... Read more

easy and works great

Safety? Depends on the situation I suppose
Masterlock, most notable for their excellent padlocks, has joined the gun safety fray by introducing 2 new trigger safety locks. I have tried it and used it on my Mossberg 500 pump action shotgun and found its application to be extremely easy.

The problem I have with this locking system and really all trigger locks, is access: what if the user needed to access the weapon in an emergency? Many people - myself included, have firearms for the purpose of personal or home defense. We are now in a quandry where local governments have passed laws mandating that ALL firearms be stored in such a manner that they are either trigger locked or in locked containers.

I have no problems with safeguarding my firearms against unlawful use - they are both expensive and create liability issues if they are stolen and used in such a manner. What I'd like to see is companies like Masterlock develop a non intrusive system that keeps the guns safe but easily accessable in times of emergency.

For now, triggerlocks are just too dangerous when used in storing defensive firearms. ... Read more

Not what I expected from Master
The lock is heavy and durable.Its a pain to set your combination, and you have to jumble the numbers in order to lock it.The lock face numbers are inverted, so you have to tilt your head a certain way to look at the numbers.Other then these inconviences, I give this lock * * * - Not what I expected from such a good lock company. ... GET PEACE OF MIND
When I was in my old apartment we had this installed for this closet my parents kept food in and I, being the mischevious child that I was tried everything possible to break this thing, from cutting it with a saw, pounding it with a hammer, and countless other things. And other than lots of scratches this thing still remained the same being its durable self. Beyond that its easy to install because I saw my dad (who isn't really that good with tools) install it in no time. Great outdoor padlock set
I use one on my garage "man-door" and one on the backyard chain link fence gate.It's terrific not to have to carry extra keys on my ring, and I've had these locks outside in all kinds of weather and they continue to work like a charm.If they came in four locks keyed alike, I'd buy that.

Necessary for national defense.
If you are in the reserves you know how much trouble it is having two separate locks with two different keys for your duffel bag and T-4. Try fumbling for the right key or looking at a combination lock in the middle of the night. On occasion you are required to leave a key. This allows you to keep a duplicate incase the other is not available (save the truble of making duplicates). I grew up with Master Lock and it implies, "do not even try to mess with this lock." ... Master Lock 375DAT Snap on Receiver Hitch Lock w/ 5/8"Pin
After spending more than I care to mention on a bike rack and a hitch-mounted storage rack I felt I needed to protect them with a hitch lock.The Master Lock 375DAT is for a 2" receiver and replaces a 5/8" pin.I looked at a few bike and hardware stores and found it to be competitively priced on Amazon.It also appeared to be of better quality and lower price than some others I found at a hitch store as well. In assessing the lock I wanted to see how well it performed in three apsects:1) Fit and ease of putting through the hitch pin opening 2)Ease of locking and opening with hitch attachments on; and3)Did it make any noise or rattle.

Overall I was more than pleased with the lock.1) With regard to placement I was pleasantly surprised to find that it slid throughmy slightly rusty receiver hitch better than any of my existing pins.I think this was because it is a better quality SST than my other pins.I also found the locking mechanism to be easier to lock in place than the conventional pin.Since the locking head is symmetrical I did not have to worry about getting the hole lined up just perfect to insert a cotter pin (also minimized knuckle scraps). 2) It was also easier to mount my storage rack attachment since you approach the lock from the side rather than having toaddress the cotter pin through the attachment.I had also intended to use with my bike rack which is held in place with a bolt.I forgot the bolt is held in place with a nut welded to the inside of the receiver tube so the lock is unable to go through.Not the fault of the lock, just disappointing that I either have to keep using the bolt or somehow remove to enable the lock to pass through.3) I was a little concerned that there was some play in the lock and that it might create some noise.The play I noticed helps engage the key in the lock and does not appear to be a problem.

My only complaint is that I wish Amazon carried a version for my other car that has a 1 1/4" receiver which needs a 1/2" pin! ... Read more
