Worlds Best Crowbar
Being a manufacture and errector of timber frame building in the United Kingdom The SharkGrip Crowbar is the best i have used in the last 20 years. My current model is the 24inch version which is used daily to extract 4 inch nails from the timber frame buildings we are errecting. The pointed ends allow the bar to be driven into the timber around the nail head and a sharp pull on the lever and the nail is out. In do in this little damage is done to the timber and this can be undertaken in the tightest of corners. This is something that most other crowbars fail to do because of their shape and geometry.
The other use is as a lever the sharp flat end is ideal for slipping under panels to lift them.

A Handyman's "purrfect' cat's paw!

I had the chance to use this cat's paw on a job site when another carpenter offered to loan me his.I fell in love with it so much I ended up buying my own!

What makes this such a great cat's paw?Simple: design.

***The paw is just the right size to keep in your toolbelt.

***Although it is strong, the overall weight is very reasonable.

***The small head allows you to pull a nail without doing major damage to wood.

***The narrow design fits very well within the hand.

***Plus it looks cool!:)

The company states that this is recommended for 3 penny, (1 3/4") to 7 penny (2 1/4") and they do make a larger size for 8 penny and up.

The Big Bad Shark Corp 21-2036 14-1/8" Nail Puller
This is the biggest Shark Corp Nail puller. I bought several more of the Shark Corp Prybar products including this model #21-2225, 10" length one based on a combo set (Shark Corp 58-9018 Fine Cut Saw and 8" Prybar Combo Pack) I purchased 6 months ago. Both the saw and pry bar are working fine.

Here is what I wrote about the 8 Inch Pry Bar in my review:

"The prybar is also a tool deserving high marks.
This is NOT a tool for power demolition, but it is well made tool for fine work - trim and nail pulling. This fits perfectly in a tool belt or Bucket Boss.It's so nice to introduce my son to excellent general purpose woodworking tools. And at a reasonable price!"
Each size has it's use, there was a lot of thought as to dimension and ergonomics for each pry bar. A simple, well made tool that makes a job easier! The difference between this bad boy is that it makes easy for removing many larger nails than it's little brother.

Don't think about it, just go and get one
The cats paw was shown to me by my work partner.I never thought a tool like this could be so useful to a framer.You can pull out sixteen's, gun nails and, even finish nails.For the occasional stubbornnail a couple wacks with a hammer will fix the porblem.I don't start work without it, it slides easily in the rear belt loop of my bags. Stanley Cat's Paw
I'm a general contractor with lots of hands on roofing and framing experience.I've used several different types of cat's paws in the course of my work including the new "bear claw" type bar.I've found the Stanley to be superior to the others due to two design details.First, the short distance between the notch (where the nail head is held) and the shoulder (where the bar bends) gives considerably more leverage than a "bear claw" type puller, where the distance from notch to shoulder can be an inch or better.Secondly, the sides of the notch taper down at a relatively shallow angle and come to a sharper edge than many other paws.This gives the frustrated carpenter (me) more grace when digging for nail heads.I don't have to dig into the wood very deep in order to grab the nail.This is good, especially in cases where a deep gouge is the last thing I want to leave behind (like in cedar fascia!).There have been times when I've misplaced my Stanley (or dropped it off the roof) and needed to borrow another guy's paw to get myself out of a jam.I've always found myself having to dig deeper or strain harder than I'd have needed to with a Stanley.

A must for repairs.
I am a professional roofer. I don't know how I got along without this tool before I got it. I've had mine for a couple of years now, I just never got around to rating it. It is the perfect size for doing repairs where you don't have to pull up a large amount of shingles.
