    Editorial Review

Are you looking for a pressure washer with enough power tohandle everyday chores--such as power-washing your deck, sidewalk, patio, grill, or car--but without the hassles associated with larger,commercial-grade, gas-powered units? The Karcher K520M electric pressurewasher may provide the answer. Powered by a 120-volt, 60 Hz inductionmotor, the K520M offers adjustable pressure, with a maximum output of1,600 psi at a rate of 1.8 gallons per minute. While this might not beenough for some commercial applications, such as stripping the paintfrom an entire house, it more than suffices for everyday, at-homechores. As the world's leading manufacturer of high-pressure washers,Karcher has put a lot of care into this unit's design. At 31 pounds, theK520M is lightweight. It's also easy to use. Power to the washer iscontrolled by a trigger gun. Just releasing the trigger shuts it down. Acorrosion- and impact-resistant cover protects the motor and pumpassembly, a garden hose connector with external water filter eliminatesdebris, and a safety lock prevents the trigger from accidentallyengaging when not in use. --Carl Thress ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Karcher keeps failing
Bought a 2400PSI model G2401HB in June 04. In the first week it failed to produce pressure unless you took the nozzel off, let it build to pressure then turn it off and quickly replace the nozzle it sometimes worked. Took it back to Menards and got another one. Worked fine until September then the same thing happened. Since it was now 90 days it had to go to a service center. Guess what!!! The fantastic 2 year warranty does not cover the internal components beyond 90 days (doesn't say that on the box). A new pump costs $200 plus installation equals the purchase price of the washer. You can't call Karcher direct. All you get is some moron who reads the owners manual to you. Emailing Karcher gets no response.

1-0 out of 5 stars a piece of junk
I bought this washer to use around the deck. I've had trouble with the safety switch on the cord since day one. When it finally quit working entirely I took it to a service center recommended on the karcher web site. The repairman showed me a letter from karcher stating they no longer repaired electric washers and gave me a number to call. I called the number they gave me the name of a repair center in another state. They knew nothing about their own letter. Went home threw the karcher in the trash and bought a honda power washer. The honda works great. The product and service from karcher are terrible!

1-0 out of 5 stars Pickydick
I have a karcher power washer that I bought from another company. It was nice when it worked, but I used it at the most 6 0r 7 time in two years. It developed a leak the day after their warentee was up.I did not like the shape of the unit.It was poorly shaped and rather awkward.I've seen other makes that were nice and rectangular and had built in detergent containers. The Karcher has a hose for detergent which sticks out through a hole. When the unit developed a leak I found out that karcher puts the machies together so that you can not service them unless you have special tools (I'm not talking a torx screwdriver)to take them apart.Their website doesn't tell you how you can purchase a special tool or offer replacement parts.I wasn't going to pay someone more then the unit cost to have it fixed, if the only problem was a bad 20 cent "O" ring.I cut the cover off with an air grinder. The pump was made out of plastic. The detergent pick up was installed with an "O" ring, I thought it might be the problem.I replaced it and I finally found out that the unit had a hairline crack in it.Something that is suppose to be made to withstand 1400 psi should not be made out of plastic. It should be brass or stainless. You should be able to take the unit apart without special tools and you should be able to order replacement parts at a reasonable price.I usually try to buy tools that have a good American name. That doesn't work anymore.Go to any appliance and/or tool repair shop and you will see dozens upon dozens of items which were repaired and the repair was more than it would cost to buy the item new.I've gone through this myself.I'm a union person and up until recently have bought American tools, then I found that some of the best names in America were made in China. The no name Chinese tools turn out to be of a higher quality and cost 1/3 to 1/4 of the price.I will drill the part out that has the crack and use a hypodermic to inject epoxy into it and I will make it work. But if I ever need another power washer it will not be a Karcher. This is a 1 star minus, but they don't have that rating.Don't buy a Karcher, check out the home warehouses and look them over good. ... Prep for paint. Clear the driveway. Scrub the deck. Clean the gutters. Wash the car. If you have a lot of heavy-duty cleaning chores to tackle, the Generac 2.2 gpm pressure washer may be your answer. A fuel-efficient 5.0-horsepower Honda engine and high-pressure pump deliver 2,400 psi of pressure at 2.2 gpm. That's more than enough power to remove the toughest stains, mold, mildew, grease, salt, paint, and grime from all kinds of surfaces. Four quick-connect spray tips let you regulate the water flow and amount of pressure applied, while a chemical injection system dramatically increases cleaning effectiveness versus comparable models. Ten-inch pneumatic tires make this unit easy to maneuver around a work area, even over tough terrain, and a prostyle stainless-steel wand provides superior comfort and control. --Carl Thress ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Pump on 2400PSi Washer Failed
After only 2 years of owneship and less than 25 hours of use time the mounting bolts broke on the pump..First one came out and then two more. The repair estimate was $329.00, 90% of the purchase price of the entire unit. The repair shop says the pump is shot and must be replaced. I purchased it from Lowe's, who was no help at all when I contacted them.Generac was even less help than Lowes. Naturally they said the warranty had expired after two years, yes...but less than 25 hours "RUN" time.I will buy another one but not Generac and not from Lowes. The 5.5hp Honda motor seems to be reliable, but it only has 25 or less hours also......I just got very much less than I expected from this unit.I would NOT recommend it to anyone.

1-0 out of 5 stars 2400 PSI Pressure Washer
My Generac Pressure washer, which I purchased a little over a year ago, has given me good service until now.But....I have only used it a few times and the pump is shot. I maintained it perfectly and followed all manufacturers recommendations. One of the bolts that mount the pump to the housing broke off and that was the beginning of the problems. It is now in the shop and they want 275.00 to fix it.I only paid 350.00 for it. Beware of these pressure washers.I have been told that most of them that are sold by Home Depot or Lowes are made to be used for a short period of time and that they are considered "throw aways" after that time.Very disappointed that Generac uses such cheap parts, knowing full well that they are destined to fail. No more "Generac brand" anything for me.Burn me once, shame on you.Burn me twice, shame on me.I would not be too quick to add this one to your shopping cart.

2-0 out of 5 stars Won't Last Long
The first season I used the pressure washer it was great.I never had a problem starting the motor or with the water pressure. The washer was used to wash vinyl siding on three houses, pier, boathouse, ect.The second year it performed as well as the first until the pump bolts broke and started leaking. Now the pump leaks water more than it pumps. The Honda motor still works fine but the pump is garbage.I wouldn't advise anyone to purchase this pressure washer. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars A Handy Little Machine
Even though it is really for the homeowner, we have used this washer in a commercial application, for a total of about 250 hours over a six month period. It was reliable and worked well. Plenty of power for anything you would do around the house. Recently the pressure has begun to drop off, so I'm thinking the pump is wearing out. If that is it's useful life, that would be fine for the average homeowner using it occasionally. We used it to wash down about 10,000 square feet of concrete every morning. Now I'm buying a bigger unit.

5-0 out of 5 stars no lemon here
Most of the reviews I read regarding porter cables model 2401 sugested it was junk. I found exactly the opposite. Mine works like a champ all parts were in the box, instructions were clear and concise, I have no complaints. However I know that there
are lemons out there, and I believe that most of the reviews written about products are from dissatisfied buyers, therefore these reviews dont mean a hoot. Im sure there are alot more happy buyers than not. Sorry to you guys that got a lemon, or just dont have any mechanical ability better luck next time

    1-0 out of 5 stars Don't Buy
After using my 2401 power washer for ONLY three minutes, oil and water started puking from the pump oil fill; the motor quit running. After contacting Porter Cable, I was given the address of two places that "supposedly" work on this machine.I took it to the first place on their list. After three weeks, I went to get the washer. Then I was informed that they put a new seal kit in the pump, but the motor wouldn't start; they ONLY work on the pump, not the Honda motor. After driving 60 miles to a place that Porter Cable told me works on Honda motors, I'm informed that in fact, they don't; that Honda makes it too hard to be a service center. When I looked up this unit and the warranty, nothing was said about having separate warranties on the pump and the motor. All in all, I would NEVER, EVER buy something like this again........what a pain. ... I take back all that I said. It does fit the K2-45 and it works extremely well. I just haven't figured out the technique for vertical surfaces. This is a very satisfied customer. I needed to re rate it to a 4.

5-0 out of 5 stars Works great
I have the 1600 system; I checked Karcher's website before ordering this to be sure it would fit on my system. It does a fantastic job on my concrete driveway and patio surfaces, uses much less water than the wand, and the "floating" makes it very easy to use.I have tried it on vertical walls, (per the manufacturer's literature it can be used that way) but it's much trickier because it's harder to keep it under control. But for horizontal surfaces, I think it's a winner.

1-0 out of 5 stars I wish I could use it

i didn't buy my pressure washer from amazon i didn't know they sold them. but i do indeed have one, and for the price you can't beat it.

2-0 out of 5 stars Effective but Prolematic
This washer did a great job, but within two months had to be returned under the warranty. The Quattro nozzel failed within several days. Only the highest pressure setting continued to work properly, and, since that was really what I needed, I lived with it. Then the trigger operated switch failed; the machine kept running whether or not the trigger was pulled, and I assumed that it would eventually self destruct under those conditions. I really wanted the convenience of electric, having previously had gas models, and, since I don't use the units frequently enough, I generally was never able to start the gas engine. Unfortunately, my experience with this unit will probably drive me back to gas.

1-0 out of 5 stars More work than it is worth
I love gadgets and really wanted one of these to save work, so I ignored the low reviews of other pressure washers, much to my regret. The first washer I received totally self-destructed within the first 5 minutes of use, something under the case rupturing and spraying water everywhere. The second one has at least not blown up yet, although the documented lifetime of one of these is less than 2 years. The biggest problem is the pressure hose, which is extremely stiff and almost unuseable, gets twisted on itself or tangled with the power cord into loops that become kinks, can easily scratch a car's finish, and is extremely aggravating to work with. The soap dispenser can only be used on low pressure, so you are laying a thick layer of soap on whatever you are cleaning, after which you (hopefully) blast it off with high pressure - but many of the "made for sprayer" soaps have specific warnings that the soap should only remain on the surface briefly or spottiing will occur. And the feed line for the soap is long (out of necessity) but then wastes much of the expensive product as you clear the lines trying to rinse. Also, the head seems to clog easily in most spray patterns. To clean a patio or sidewalk (as long as you give it lots of "breaks" to avoid overheating) it does a great job of blasting mold and discoloration from hard surfaces, but for washing cars, siding, or grills, the setup and cleanup time (usually because of the cheap high pressure hose) is generally twice as long as if you just used a bucket and hose. What first appears to be a great gadget and time-saver is a waste of money and time. ... Read more

    5-0 out of 5 stars Karcher 3600psi 4gpm
I have had a 2400psi, 2.5gpm Karcher unit for about 2 years. It has seen a lot of use and been very reliable.
Recently bought a 3600psi, 4gpm Karcher unit. It is amazing! What used to take 2+ hrs to clean gets done in 30 min.
I terms of reliability, I have not had the unit long enough to comment.

I must confess that I do not use the hose reel and so can't comment on its leaking. I don't feel that the reel is necessary or needed. I just roll the hose after use and hang it on the hooks on the side of the unit designed for that purpose.
As for not being able to fix a flat tire...

5-0 out of 5 stars Good for a thousand uses
In the words of Tim "Tool Time" Taylor, "you can't have enough power!"I like this equipment alot. The six color coded quick release nozzles accomendate any job.I use it (water only) to clean my Trek deck, outdoor furniture and to make my stockade fence and wood shed look new again. It saved us days of labor when getting old paint off a cedar shingles prior to preparing for new paint. This item is POWERFULL.If not used correctly, it'll tear the shingles (or siding) right off the house. There is also a in-flow regulator to adjust for inconsistant water supply. The hose reel and handle are easily removed to allow this equipment to be transported upright inside a compact SUV. Auto shutoff on low oil. Large gas tank. An EXCELLENT tool.

1-0 out of 5 stars Karcher Pressure Washer
This is an addendum to the review I wrote on 5/9/2003. I disassembled the hose reel to attempt to see why it was leaking so vigorously (and has leaked since the day it came home). The way the pressurized water or chemical is transferred to the reel involves a couple of ten cent O-rings on either side of a manifold and these were dried out and brittle. ...
Should you purchase this product anticipate that parts may or may not be a problem for you as they have been for me. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great once you get it going
We just received our Karcher...the box looked like it had been opened and re-taped shut. There wasn't an owner's manual for the pressure washer...only for the engine. There weren't any nozzles (renders the thing useless).I called Karcher and they immediately sent the missing parts (by pony express, they arrived 10 days later).

Neither the owners manual NOR the engine manual match the actual engine. There are 2 places to add oil (use the grey with the dip stick, it is easier). The choke is the push/pull wire lever on the OHV side of the engine.

Now that the ugly stuff is out of the way, once you have loaded the oil and the gas, set the choke, throttle, etc.just pull the cord and let her rip. This has to be the easiest starting recoil engine that I have ever used (I am a female, 5'2").One pull and she goes. The pressure is excellent and adjustable.

I added a quick connect for the supply water hose as I found that I was losing the skin on my knuckle otherwise.

If all of the parts had arrived together, the machine wasn't scuffed up, and the manuals actually matched the machine I would have rated this a 5.

4-0 out of 5 stars Impressive Piece of Machinery
I purchased this washer for ~$500.It arrived approximately one week after placing the order.

This is a well-engineered product. It assembled quite easily. It starts easily (every time on the first pull if you follow directions). The engine is surprisingly quiet for 6 1/2 hp.The unit rolls easily on large pneumatic tires, the spray tips change easily, and it has one powerful spray! It can easily strip oil stain off cedar shake shingles, blast deep-rooted grass and weeds out of cracks in asphalt, strip paint, and remove moss, stains and mold from asbestos shingles. The cleaning speed and effectiveness compares favorably with industrial units I have rented. This is more than your average homeowner pressure washer.

    Now the minor gripes:

    - The unit came in a large box with no packing material; the box looked like it had been opened and taped/stapled shut. The box was partially crushed and some of the yellow paint had warn off onto the cardboard due to rubbing during shipping.Fortunately there was no damage to the unit other than a little missing paint.

    - The 30' high-pressure hose is fairly stiff and doesn't coil easily. The addition of some twist couplings at each end would be welcome. In practical applications, 30' is usually long enough, although it seems you could always use a few more feet.

    - There are two oil fill openings on the engine. It is unclear which opening should be filled until almost overflowing, as directed in the instructions (it's the lower one -- be sure to find both before filling).

    - Engine controls are straightforward once you get used to them, but poorly marked. The correct choke, throttle, on/off switch, and fuel valve positions need to be memorized, because, at best, you are provided with very small symbols or letters stamped, in black, into a black surface.Nevertheless, the engine performance is impressive.

    - Directions are adequate provided you read carefully. In an instance or two, it seems like they were written for an earlier model; engine controls are not quite as described in the instructions.

As I said, these gripes are minor compared to the quality and power of this unit.As of this writing, I have used it 3 times for a total of about 90 minutes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Power Washer
Engine started one the first pull.

This compact little unit delivers an amazing 1,400 psi water pressure, blasting dirt and grime off vehicles, boats, garden tools, siding, concrete, even the nasty baked-on gunk on your barbecue grill with 30 times the power of your garden hose. It’s incredibly light, super compact and simple to use; the wand is easy to grip and aim; and the full-hand trigger Karcher designed means no more trigger-finger fatigue. The Dirt Blaster rotating nozzle spray wand boosts the cleaning power up to 50 percent with a twist of the nozzle, giving you a powerful pencil jet all the way up to wide-angle, sweeping coverage. The detachable detergent tank is a great idea, too. We also like the side-mounted power switch--we’ve seen too many washers with the switch at the base. Best of all, the motor is linked to the trigger: it starts when you squeeze the trigger, stops when you let go. Smart design.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Works OK but low cost construction
The pressure washer works fine. It is fairly small so it is easy to move it around. The hose and the spray wands are similar to those that come with more expensive Karcher portable electric washers. The water inlet connector, however, is made of flimsy plastic. Mine got cracked apparently during shipping. While I managed to fix it myself it was apparent that the plastic connector was poorly designed and probably won't last under heavy use.

I own another Karcher portable washer. The high pressure hose on that one recently bursted so I had to buy either a replacement hose or a new washer. Since a replacement hose cost about $50 I decided to buy a new $99 Karcher washer instead. This way I could still get some use out of my old washer. Pressure washers are very useful and I do like Karcher's lightweight designs. Just don't confuse them with industrial quality machines and be gentle when you drag the washer around.

3-0 out of 5 stars This can be had locally for 69.95
This is no bargain given that it can be had for $70. I ordered mine from the Tool Bin catalog for 99.99. As soon as it arrives it's going back.

1-0 out of 5 stars cautiously pessimistic
I purchased the 1900 psi Briggs & Stratton Power Washer four months ago.It started up right away on one pull, then ten minutes later it stopped. My local authorized repair place diagnosed the problem as a faulty part covered under warrantee.Three months later I still don't have the 1900.After several calls and emails to Amazon and Briggs & Stratton I received encouraging customer service that told me the part was due the next day.Still waiting.I'm dissappointed because I've grown up with respect for the Briggs & Stratton name and have only had good experiences with Amazon.I'm hoping the part will arrive, the repair made, and I can regain my confidence in these two companies.I have been told that if the 1900 cannot be repaired, I can apply to Amazon for a new one which is a mixed promise.First, I can apply for a refund is not inspiring and secondly, I face the unknown of whether it was just a lemon or bad design.

I'll have to wait and see.
I will be very dissappointed if the 1900 can't be repaired and Amazon refuses to either refund the purchase priceplus shipping or is willing to ship me a new one, and not a reconditioned one.

    We'll see.

5-0 out of 5 stars Briggs & Stratton Reliability
I purchased the Sears Craftsman version of this item that is rated at 2000 psi and 2.0 gpm. The Sears unit also came with the turbo wand and extra oil for $199. Engine started second pull and has continued to do so. Its clearly for residental use not commercial, but does a lot of things very well. Do read and follow the instructions closely about purging air before startup. CONS: Engine/pump gets very hot and will kill grass where it sits. Engine will not empty gas tank. Stops running at about 1/4 tank and requires refill. I'd have it repaired under warranty, but its too darned reliable to have somebody messing with it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Amazon Sucks
I ordered a new pressure washer and you sent me a used one with oil all over the inside of the box. I'm pissed.I thought that a web site like amazon.com would not go so low as to dupe a coustomer.I am returning this item and I will not buy anything else from Amazon.com. I will tell all my friends that ask me what I think about amazon.com, not to buy anything from them. Even thought shipping this pressure washer back will cost me the shippihg, it's OK as long as I get rid of this peice of this thing. I'm am very disspointed with this service.

2-0 out of 5 stars Don't expect good customer support
I haven't used this pressure washer enough to determine its worth - it seems fine now that it is working.I'm writing this review, though, to warn customers away from Porter Cable/Devilbiss.(To avoid the saga, jump to the last paragraph.)

I needed a pressure washer for a job scheduled to start on July 4.After reading customer reviews decided on the Porter Cable PCH2600C.On June 27 I ordered it from Tylertool.com and it arrived July 3 by UPS.I assembled it the next day but it failed to start.I found the air filter and carburetor full of oil.Apparently Porter Cable had tested the unit but didn't drain the oil before shipping.I could (should) have fixed it myself but I didn't have extra time and felt it would better be done under warranty.I immediately called Porter Cable customer service but heard an automated message stating that they are closed until July 8.

On July 8 I Called Porter Cable and was told to call Tyler Tool. When I called Tyler Tool I was told to call Honda (engine mfr.)I called Honda and was told to call the local Honda distributor who told me to call local service center who told me to bring the receipt but would not assure me that this would be warranty work.At that point I decided to request an RMA from Tyler tool.

On 11 July I decided to give Porter-Cable (DeVilbiss) a second chance before attempting to ship the pressure washer.I talked to Rosie, she said Tyler Tool should have taken care of me, but she called Jack's Small Engine repair in Belair MD (local authorized service center) and authorized them to fix it under warranty.

On 12 July I took the pressure washer to Jack's and was told it will take 2 weeks plus.

On 4 August I called Jack's to find out why I have not received a call as expected to pick the up fixed pressure washer.I was told to call back in 1 hour because the manager was the only person who could tell me the status of the repair. When I called back I was told that work had started, but was not finished. It should be done by the end of the week or early next.

On 13 August I called Jack's to find out what is going on..."work has started" but not finished, no predicted finish date. I was told they have been running a 4 or 5-week backlog and added that my paperwork did not indicate that it was warranty service and I needed to bring a purchase receipt when I pick it up.

On 21 August I called Jack's again.I was told that it was ready to pick up.There was no answer to why hadn't I been notified. When I picked it up, I asked the service tech. what had been done.He told me he drained the oil from the carburetor, replaced the air filter and ran it to burn off any oil.- So why did it take six weeks and why did it take at least 17 days from the time work was reportedly started. If you live in northern Maryland, NEVER go to Jack's small engine repair! The service was typically surly and smart mouthed and I think they intentionally lied to me from the start.

It took 8 weeks from the time I ordered until I had a working unit. The job for which I purchased the PCH2600C was LONG done.Add to that the accumulated frustration and time wasted from the runaround and BAD service, - I'm sorry I ever ordered the darn thing and will never buy anything from Porter Cable or Devilbiss again, nor will I patronize Jack's Small Engine repair.gine repair.

In early August 2004 (13 months after purchase) I received a surprise call from the Pentair group's customer service (Porter Cable/Devilbiss)They had just read this review (even though I emailed a copy to them when I wrote it) and wanted to make good.I was offered a free extension on the warranty (with a promise not to send me to Jack's Small Engine Repair) and a complimentary kit containing attachments for the pressure washer. It was a nice touch and slightly softened my opinion but probably not enough to make me want to do business again. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Poor Product
I bought this attachment to use with my Karcher 330 electric pressure washer with the intention of using it to wash our cars. I just tried it out and was very disappointed with the attachment for the following reasons: 1) poor fit into the wand - connection is flimsy and flexes quite a bit - feels like it will snap off with minimal pressure 2) rotary head is poorly powered and does not do a good job. My opinion is that this is a poor product and that it does not perform. In short, don't waste your money. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great pressure washer,,,poor deliverly
Like the other review my pressure washer when delivered was turned upside down and all the washer pump oil leaked all over in the box. I called briggs and stratton 1-800# and after speaking with a representitive, briggs and stratton sent a bottle of oil to me which arrived at my door step in two days free of charge.
Made sure all the oil was out of the pump and put the new oil into the pump and I was in buisness, as it works like a champ. I purchased some quick connectors for the hoses and I'm very pleased with the unit. Could not find one cheaper, the only bad thing is deliverly. UPS turns their boxes upside down reguardless what the box says. You would think when part of the box leaks oil and the odor of pump oil is like gear oil you would think they would get a clue.
I did advised briggs and stratton that the pump oil should be separate like the engine oil is.They stated they would look into it,,,ya right!,,what ever.
Just be careful if you order a pressure washer,,pump oil may have run out of it. Don't run the pump,, call B&S and they should help you out.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fine Machine
This pressure washer is a dandy. The OHV Briggs with AR pump and a sturdy well built cart, runs like a champ. Plenty of pressure, be careful it can blow the siding off your house.Amazon has the lowest price I've seen ,with free shipping what more could one ask for.

1-0 out of 5 stars Great power washer, but don't buy from Amazon.com.
I ordered this power washer after weeks of research.Turns out I could save $100+ by ordering online rather than purchasing locally (after discounts and incentives). The first shipment never made it to me--damaged in transit by UPS.The second shipment arrived to me damaged--again by UPS--as the entire unit was tipped over and much of the pump oil had spilled all over the inside. After days of waiting for a resolution, I finally decided to just return the product, which Amazon.com accepted without arguing, but the return process was a hassle--have to empty all oil from unit then wait 7 days for evaporation before it can be safely shipped. So even after accepting the return, and my instruction not to send a replacement, Amazon.com sent another replacement unit--refused delivery of this one as I was very ticked off at Amazon.com.Turns out the problem is with their delivery carrier. It seems that UPS does not understand what "THIS SIDE UP" means.I finally purchased the unit at a local dealer without any headaches and am very happy with its performance. No problems after 3-4 weeks of use, 2-3 hours at a time--very powerful.I came to learn later that some of the newer models ship with a safety cap to prevent pump oil leakage--the safety cap must be exchanged with a relief valve upon receipt of the unit.My unit from Amazon.com did not come with such a safety cap.So you can take your chances with Amazon.com and hope you get one with a safety cap, because I guarantee that UPS will tip the box over in transit.I am rating this power washer 1 star because of the delivery problem; the unit itself is 5-star without question. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars How to start the Tecumseh easier
I read some of the reviews about hard starting, and mine experienced the same thing. Here's what I found that works:
Pump the primer bulb 5-6 times if it hasn't been run in a while.Set the throttle on high, and give the starter a pull.It will typically start right up on the first or second pull, but then die like others mentioned. The trick is to press the primer bulb again when it sputters to keep it running. It might take 2-3 presses on the primer bulb over the first 30 seconds of running, but then it stays running and runs great.

5-0 out of 5 stars KARCHER G2301LT WASHER
I received this washer today and had the unit unboxed and assembled within 5-6 minutes. The washer started very easily and did a great job washing my house siding (vinyl), garage door and my deck. The washer did come with an upgraded wand(stainless steel with adjustable nozzle)which made it easy to use on all the different surfaces. I was very impressed with the portability, ease of starting and cleaning power of this machine.I would recommend this unit to anyone needing a great pressure washer for home use.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Value, But.........
This item originally arrived badly damaged - no protective packing material in the carton at all, so I initiated a return.
The same day I spotted the same machine at Costco with a Honda engine, which I prefer. I bought it, and even though the Honda is 5hp, it has a slightly higher psi rating.
Amazon was quick to answer my email, and even called immediatly, but it took over a month to credit my debit card!
ANYWAY, the washer works great, the nozzle quick connects are a nice feature, and it has enough power for anything I've tried around the house so far. ... Read more
