Editorial Review

There are now enough handheld global positioning system (GPS) receivers on the market that you can be choosy when it comes to price, features, and design. Garmin--a leading manufacturer of car, boat, and personal GPS receivers--has a complete line of eTrex handheld receivers, with our Legend falling about midrange.

Easily look up nearby services with optional downloadable details from MapSource CD-ROMs.
With Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) support, the Legend offers extremely accurate readings (rated to within 2 to 3 meters). (For more on WAAS, see the Frequently Asked Questions section.) A good-size screen--288 x 160 pixels--makes it easy to see location details, and the Legend redraws maps quickly when zooming in or out of a position.

Its 8 MB of memory means there is also plenty of room for waypoints, routes, and saved tracks. The Legend will hold up to 500 waypoints, complete with a name and graphical symbol, 20 routes with 50 waypoints each, and it contains slots for 10 saved tracks. You can also download maps from Garmin's MapSource CD-ROMs (thorough but expensive accessories for the GPS receiver) to see street-level or topographic detail (depending on the CD-ROM title).

Built-in exit listings show services at U.S. interstate exits.
But one of the most striking attributes of the Legend is its comfortable and efficient design. While it rests easily in the palm of either hand, it's most suited for the left hand, where its handy click-stick can be manipulated with the thumb. The click-stick works like the pencil-eraser nubbin on laptop PCs and is handy for moving through screen icons and menus. It also works as a button when pressed down.

The Legend is coated with a waterproof, rubberized plastic shell that grips nicely. Weighing in at only 5.3 ounces, it fits into a pocket or clips onto a belt loop, going almost unnoticed.

The internal trip computer of the Legend provided a range of data about our hikes and drives, including current speed, average speed, trip distance, and time traveled (both moving and stopped). For those interested in checking out their foot pace and distance traveled, it's a handy GPS to have in hand.

Our only major beef with the Legend is that the receiver sometimes seemed to grow weak. Even when it wasn't in WAAS mode (which can be tough to maintain a signal in), it dropped the signal from time to time. We even lost the signal once while walking along the streets of San Francisco--it seems that the medium-size buildings were enough to interfere with the reception.

But this only happened on a few occasions. Most of the time the well-designed Legend was able to keep us in touch with up to 12 GPS satellites for a strong-enough read to maintain a tight handle on our location. --J. Curtis

2-0 out of 5 stars Reliability Problems with the e-Trek Legend
Bought my e-Trek Legend in March 2002 for geocaching; initially it did ok, tracked well but lost signal often when under leafcover in the woods.Started noticing power shutoff problems when first turning it on;thought it was the battery connection, I'm beginning now to think it was poor/thin soldering in the manufacture. Now the click stick will only work in two of four directions. For what I paid for it, and as little as I used it, I doubt if I'll replace it with another Garmin e-Trek, they just don't seem substantial enough for hiking (to think, I cradled that thing like a baby in the woods, being careful with it!).

4-0 out of 5 stars My first one, not easy to figure out without book.
Well, so far I kind of dig it. Its not easy to manage without learning it first. Its not a "duh obvious" operating system. I am trying to figure out still how to map where I have been but not save the whole thing. I want to save just legs.

It is almost one hand useable, but some of the buttons are hard to press with one hand. It is a nice size and very easy to read. It does not come with any computer software and I am not sure how to get other maps on it yet.

I guess I need to buy additional software. Its been fun playing with it since I bought it yesterday, now I need to learn the nitty gritty.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent little unit.. Handy to have.
I've had this unit now for about a week Unit offers alot in a little package. Only Highways and State Roads on it, but shareware software on the web really made mapping possible and fun (GPS Track Maker v12). Has lots of POIs (Points of Interests) loaded from the factory.Unit seems very accurate (usually displays 18 or 25 foot accuracy in clear view of the sky).Picks up a good signal on the dash of my car.

I wound up also buying the Mapsouce CD and loaded up all of CT. Fine details to all minor roads and points of interests.
It did wipe out the factory maps some (noticed that channel or river bouys no longer in the unit, but the factory map can be reloaded at any time from Garmin's website).

For the price ($130.00 thru Amazon) it's a fantastic unit. Don't bother with the Etrex Yellow and shoot for the Legend.
    Mapsource was $74 on line..

Even though the unit comes with a comport cord, go with a dual 12v & com connection in one.I'm running it indoors plugged into a 12v power supply.Unit is also good on Battery life too.

Editorial Review

With this device, there's no reason why sitting at home or the office or idling in rush-hour traffic can't be soothing and relaxing. It's a body-sculpted, padded, soft fabric body massager that fits most chairs and automobile seats, secures with elastic straps, and then massages neck, shoulders, back, buttocks, and thighs at 10 separate points with 10 little motors. It also produces heat for the back--with a safety pressure-activated switch that turns off the heat if you rise from the seat. An LED-illuminated control similar to a television remote control allows you to choose between three massage speeds and intensities, select for heat, choose which body parts to massage, and select from five massage patterns: steady, up-and-down, pulsating, side-to-side, and circulating. An AC home adapter and a 12-volt auto adapter come with the massager, which carries a two-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars ok, but.....
The description of this made it sound really great.Once I got it though, there are a few things to consider. For one, the thing doesn't fit in my chairs. It has elastic straps, but they are too short to secure around my recliner which is the only chair with a high enough back for me to use it.So I tried it with it just sitting in the chair. The lower functions for the low back and legs are fine, but the higher ones made my upper back and neck hurt worse.I have yet to try it in my car...I haven't wanted to dig it out of my closet.:(

3-0 out of 5 stars Uncomfortable
It works as advertised.I would prefer a touch more heat.

The main issue I have is that it is uncomfortable to sit on for a long time.In particular the two leg motors stick up so that you feel pressure points while seated.

It is unfortunate, but I remove the unit when not using the message and heat.

5-0 out of 5 stars This thing rules
That about sums it up. I do not want to leave my chair...ever. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Accutire's new, deluxe digital tire gauge delivers precise tire pressure reading every time--and that's important. While manual tire gauges seem flimsy, sometimes stick, and can give inconsistent results, Accutire's digital gauge is a well-made, confidence-inspiring instrument. The Accutire also delivers impressive consistency: in our tests, we got within plus/minus 1/2 psi each time, something that's not likely to happen with a manual gauge. The Accutire's large back-lit LCD screen is easy to read, too, no matter if you're standing in pitch-black dark or in bright daylight. The gauge measures from 5 to 99 psi, in 1/2-pound increments, and automatically shuts itself off after you use it. Built with a rugged aluminum housing, a rubber nose, and tail guards, this gauge also comes with a handy steel side clip, in case you need to carry yours with you wherever you go. And when it's not in use, you can store the Accutire in its felt-lined, snap-shut case, so it won't get beat up rattling around in your glove box. Accutire's digital gauge costs more than a manual gauge, but with its lifetime lithium battery, it's going to last you a long, long time. --Jon Groebner ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars a sturdy and easy-to-use tire gauge
I bought this item back in May of 2001 for the two cars in my house. The tire gauge still works very well, and shows its readings in 0.5 psi increments. As advertised, the large digits are easy to read even in direct sunlight (I just verified that last week!).It works fine even as I'm nearing the fifth year of owning this handy item.It even looks brand-new because the case keeps it safe from scratches, dents, and dings that you are bound to get while it is stowed in the glovebox.

One thing that should be noted: people complained that it's hard to get a good seal to get a consistent and accurate reading.I bet it's because the tire's air nozzle was up or off to the side; I find that it's best when the nozzle is around the 6 or 7 o'clock position so that I can firmly press the gauge straight down. This means you have to crane your head a bit to read the digial measurement, but the important thing is to be able to press down straight & hard onto the tire's nozzle.

I've been using this gauge to check the tires more frequently since the season is changing, and also because I am on the road for longer periods of time. If not for anything, checking the air pressure makes me take a good and up-close look at the tires, and make sure that everything seems okay.At every check-up, this tire gauge was easy to use.I'd definitely buy this again, perhaps as a gift to someone who drives a lot, or as a replacement for myself if needed.

1-0 out of 5 stars Dead at just over a year old
In addition to the previously discussed problem of getting a good seal, I tried to use it the other day, and found it is totally dead. Replacing the button cells did not correct the problem. Seems the lithium battery failed prematurely. Considering the seal problem, I doubt I will bother to pay shipping & insurance to return it to the manufacturer for repair even if it is within the 5 year warranty.

1-0 out of 5 stars Obtaining Seal is Very Hard
I find it a struggle to get a good seal for proper measurement. My old fashioned mechanical gauge is much easier.
I regret my purchase, it was a complete waste of money. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Since everything's riding on your tires, there's no better peace of mind than this slick little tire gauge. We've all used those silver pen-sized models with the hard-to-read white stick that comes out the end, and we all know how imprecise and unreliable they are. The Measurement Specialties 4000 and its companion keychain model take the approximation out of the equation, delivering fast, accurate tire pressure with just a touch to the valve. The generous LCD display screen is backlit (MS-400046 only), so it's easy to read even in the dark. The tough aluminum housing and the shockproof rubber nose and tail guards will withstand your handling. For convenience, just clip it to your belt. The keychain gauge is a great bonus, and you'll never be without a gauge when you're driving.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Works well
This works quickly and easily. It is also very accurate. The best part about it is how easily the seal is obtained. No more wild hissing as the air leaks out while trying to read the pressure!

The "lifetime" lithium battery powers the gauge itself, but there is a second replaceable battery that powers the backlight. So, there are batteries to replace every so often if you want a backlight for the readout.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best darn tire guage you can buy!!!
Though I did not purchase my guage from Amazon, I bought the same product at Sears. A tire guage has just one function, but you want to make sure it does it well. Those cheapo pen type guages are fine for most people, but you cant read them in the dark and I have found them in general to not be consistantly accurate. With a digital guage, you are assured an accurate reading everytime. What makes the accutire guage so much better is its quality. When you first pick it up, it just has that feeling of quality in your hand. However, its when you get down to business these really shine. You dont have to worry if the head is perfectly aligned with your tire valve. Just stick it on and push, and you have your reading. Couldn't be easier. But, buyer beware, you might find yourself checking strangers' tires just to give you an excuse to use this. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Mechanical un-reliable.
Just bought new today at local store. Compact, light, reasonable price, ... It works ... but ...
Test the first time: The spring pin is sticky (dc positive node) fail to spring back to original position when removing the inverter out of car socket.
Test the second, third time: Even with the spring pin stuck (loosing spring property), electrical function is still working fine.
Intend to exchange. Hopefully mechanical defect gone.

Things to think about before you buy:
Make sure your cigarette lighter socket has enough clearance around it to accomodate this large of an adapter. You may need one with a cord with the plug on the end to fit in your vehicle.
Make sure your intended use won't overload this adapter. It's rated up to 75 watts continuous duty.
Otherwise,it's a well made unit by a name brand manufacturer and they warranty it as such.Besides,[Amazon.com] stands behind your purchase. ... Read more

We got married in July of 2004. We got this as a wedding gift and it saved us lots of money on our honeymoon. We traveled from Minnesota to Michigan and spent a week in Michigan. We were able to see lots of sites, because we didn't have to stop to eat. Excellent idea for a wedding gift.

5-0 out of 5 stars Helpful Travel Cooler
This has been so helpful for us.We bought it three years ago when my daughter was nine months old, I was pregnant, and we were moving from Nebraska to Georgia. The coverter to use it in the hotels can be purchased at Target.I made sure I had that for food and formula. We have used in on many trips and really enjoy it now for drinks and sandwiches. It is nice not having soggy food.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good in the car, would like to use it in the hotel
I really liked it.It was convenient to use especially with a baby on board. But I cannot find where to buy the Ac/Dc converter so I can use it in the hotels too on long trips. It takes 2 hours to cool it down before starting out or pack the stuff with cold or frozen first. But sometimes from a hotel that is not possible on a long trip.So I would like to keep it cold through the night. ... Here's another clever, innovative product from the people who brought you the inflatable airbed, the battery-powered fluorescent light, the cordless rechargeable spotlight, rotating carwash brush and the 12-volt cooler/warmer, among other things. This Car Cozy heated blanket is just the right size for two people, whether in the front or back seats. Its low-amp draw won't affect your vehicle's other features, but it's enough to toast up this fleecy blanket. It measures about 42 by 58 inches, and we can imagine how great it would be on a crisp night at the drive-in movies, on a nippy winter night, or even for the more frail passengers who can't tolerate air-conditioning when every one else is sizzling. 3-0 out of 5 stars so far, so good
I bought this for transporting a large musical instrument over long drives in the winter. So far it seems to have worked. My gripes so far are: 1. small.at least for the instrument.I got a second one, but for most folks using this for the "regular" reasons, it should be ok.A little larger would still be nice though.2. the plug fell apart.I was able to reassemble it, but it shouldn't have twisted apart on the third use.3. no temp control. It would be nice for the ability to set it on different temps, but this one heats to one temp only.It isn't too hot or anything, but sometimes I'd like to be able to regulate it more.4. it heats quicker when it is folded up.When it isn't, it may take a long time.

Overall, it seems to be a good purchase.Time will tell and I may need to update this, but it is pretty good. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Super little caving light
Having had numerous flashlights for my caving adventures, I can say this is a great little light. Not powerful little fellow. I have had 3 of these and they can clip to pretty much anything, keychains, purses, backpacks and helmets. I have had mine clipped to my helmet so I had one in easy reach whenmy other 'bigger' lights were hooked to my camos and are submerged in water or mud. These do not like water, but do not say water, something I should have known, my bad! My only complaint and reason for 4 stars is that the clips are made of plastic, heavy duty, but still plastic.I have given 3 as gifts, great card stuffers, and each person still has theirs in working condition. So maybe I am harsh on mine, they do get bumped in the caves.I do plan to buy more, so the plastic issue is not that bad. These are great for any purpose, enjoy.

3-0 out of 5 stars So far, so okay...
I go this fridge/warmer for the fridge function, for my room.I have limited space, so I figured this would be a great addition.

As far as what other people say, yes, it's small; it won't hold a 2-liter bottle or anything like that; picture more like a lunchbox that chills.

I don't know it shorted out for the other customer, but so far I've been running mine for a long time, and it seems fine.In fact, it recommends not using it until it has been running for at least 2 hours to get the temperature down.

The bad part is how effectively it chills things.

It does a pretty poor job at cooling things off; while it can eventually get down to 40 degrees it takes a very long time to do so for room-temperature items, and even recommends putting already-cold beverages or items into it for better effect - that's kind of silly, considering I need the fridge to chill them in the first place, but whatever.

Unfortunately, because it takes so long to chill things, it is, in my opinion, useless for travelling; it would take 2 hours just to cool ITSELF, then roughly another 2 hours to chill the item.Unless your destination is four hours away, you're better off with just a cooler.

I have not tested the warming function, but it's a lot easier to warm something than it is to cool it, so I assume it works fine for that.

Unfortunately, I'd say if the fridge is for your car, just use a cooler; it's cheaper, more effective, and will hold much more than this fridge. If this is an indoor solution, go with a larger model that uses normal refrigeration technology; although slightly larger, I'm sure it's more effective. For me, space is the biggest issue, so I gave it three stars, since it DOES cool and IS portable. If this is the same for you, I'd be neutral in recommending it. Don't pay over $50 for it though.

4-0 out of 5 stars Works 4 Me!
I have had my mini fridge for over a year now - it holds 8 12-oz. soda cans perfectly or 4 16-oz. Bottles of water!People in my office of jealous - we just gave one to our boss as a gift and it was a big hit!

Don't drive anywhere without this! Car trouble can strike at any time, and you have to be prepared. You won't be caught without the right tools with this neat set. Everything in this case is right on the money, though we'd like to see the flashlight made to be a little more rugged. Jumper cables are a must, and they fit neatly in the (we must say) chic case along with all the other road necessities: a tire gauge, rain poncho, funnel for adding oil or coolant, an ice scraper (which might not seem essential until you're caught without one), non-slip gloves, light sticks (a better choice, we think, than road flares), an SOS banner and a how-to guidebook. Though marketed for women, it's really a great kit for anyone, especially young drivers and college students.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

  • Everything necessary to be safe while waiting for roadside assistance

4-0 out of 5 stars Women Safety Kit
I really loved the nice blue and silver case. The items inside are quite handy, and I've have used several of them. The only down side is the poor quality of the fashlight. It does not work, and is a bit flimsy. The kit I purchased for a friend, also has a bad flashlight. I wanted to return the flashlight, but felt foolish about sending back one item. So I purchased a flashlight to keep in the kit. Overall, a good item to keep in your car, and a great gift for friends. Just replace the flashlight!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Quality was so poor I had to return it
Having a roadside safety kit designed for women was a such a great idea, it's too bad they had to skimp on quality. The lantern especially was so poorly made I couldn't even get it to open and shut properly. The gloves are flimsy, the tire gauge looks cheap.I was real annoyed at having to pay $9.99 to return this, because it wasn't my fault it was of such poor quality. My advice ladies: put together your own roadside kit with quality products.

5-0 out of 5 stars a good emergency kit
My mom & dad bought this roadside kit for me to keep in my car since I'm away at college for most of the year and on my own.Thank heavens they did because I was stuck on a highway just last week.I put up the SOS flag and within a few minutes, a good samaritan stopped to give me a jump start using my Barbara K jumper cables. The guidebook in the kit is very informational and helped me understand many things about my car.I love my roadside emergency kit!I will recommend it to all of my friends. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars fire hazzard
I had one of these (j900) in my trunk which apparently bounced against the sidewall, knocked the leads loose, they arced together and started my trunk carpet on fire. The century mfg. co. won't return my calls, so I am trying to alert people to the potential disaster these products are.

1-0 out of 5 stars Mine is no longer charging
I bought mine April 2001. It is no longer able to charge back up to power. It did work the first few months but now it is gone. It is interesting to see that I am not alone.

I hardly used it at all. Kept it charged & stored as instructed.
Used it as backup battery on pop-up camper if main battery died.
AC Adaptor died I think, no replacement available for 15VDC AC Adaptor.

Winter can be lovely, except when it lands on your vehicle. Don't you love leaving work after a long day and discovering that your windshield has a concrete-like, thick coating of ice? It'll never bother you again, as long as this little number is in your car. We've never seen anything clear ice and snow from a windshield like this. Clever engineering, smart ergonomics, and good old innovation combine to make this, hands down, the best scraper we've ever used. Calling it a scraper really doesn't do it justice--the patented Flexiblade actually conforms to the shape of your windshield and windows, and the "Tenderizers" make quick work of crust. But add this: the Ice Notch. No other scraper has attended to the ice-encrusted windshield wipers until now. Just slide your wiper blades through the Ice Notch, and they are clear as a summer's day. The removable brush deserves its own kudos, because it has a scraper blade as well, for areas like mirrors. This gem gets our highest praises.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste ... Read more

  • Completely clear your vehicle of ice and snow, easily, and quickly
  • Features FlexiBlade, ergonomic handles, front plow, and innovative multi-function brush
  • Bulldoze snow and ice off your vehicle without getting it on you
  • Brush can be removed for clearing snow from hard to reach areas
  • Notch specially designed to clear ice chunks off of windshield wipers

5-0 out of 5 stars Incredible
It is like a bulldozer. You cant break it.Most ice scrapers are pansy devices. You cant take them and smash ice. This thing is amazing. You can take it and smash it into your windshield and the teeth break the ice. Then use it like a block plane to scrape it off.The blade conforms to the shape of the windshield. There is so much incredible engineering in this thing if you examine it closely. It is like the better mouse trap, only it IS better.

5-0 out of 5 stars When was the last time you couldn't wait for ice?
This product is the best.Last year, my kids were fighting for the right to remove the ice and snow from my car. This tool just demolishes the ice.And the snow mover (that is another one of their products) is great for pushing the snow off of the hood and roof of my car.... without me getting covered with snow doing it.

I can't wait for this winter... and I have already stocked up on these for friends and family for Christmas. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars These batteries really work!
Firstly, you should note that I have the earlier 250 watt version of this powerpack (very similar, but without the compressor).

I am buying a 2nd 300 watt version because my experience has been so good with my first one.Unlike some of the other reviewers, I had no charging problems and it has held the charge for the past several years without fail (comforting green light). The real test came during the big NYC blackout-- I was the only one with any lights on!Worked like a champ. As I said, I'm buying another one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great item
I bought one of these last year in a store and it worked great. Now i bought one again on here at a cheaper price. I use it in the yard to replace a long and tangled power cord to weedwack, to trim my bushes, and light an area at night for 15 -20 mins with a 300 watt light. The little LED lights are great for keeping me informed of the battery status.I filled my bike and car tires with it. I use it alot to go camping and i recharge it ever time im in the car going place to place. And this winter i have jump started 2 cars and one pickup of my coworks so far on the cold nights i leave work. I keep one at home and the other in my SUV and i will say it has payed itself off with the number of times it has come in handy.

4-0 out of 5 stars I use it all the time!
This product is great! I have used it now for over 6 months and have been very impressed. I've even given two of these away as gifts!

I've used this Xantrex 300 watt generator and it has helped me in numerous situations:

My car battery died. I used this to jumpstart my car.

My car's tire has a slow leak. I used the air compressor function to re-inflate it. It takes a long time to inflate tires, compared to those 50 cent air/water machines at the gas stations, but it gets the job done and I can take it with me. It works on my Acura's 15 inch tires, as well as my friend's Dodge Ram (30+) inch tires.(It also has a needle to inflate sports balls, which I haven't used yet.)

My Shed has no electricity. I use the attached double lamp florescent light and I can see. (Not super bright, but it helps.)

It's primary use, however is for my laptop. I constantly plug in my laptop (Dell inspiron 8600) while in my car. I get power for 2-3 hours. A better strategy to maximize laptop use is: I use my laptop with it's long lasting Centrino battery (last's 4-5 hours). I then shut it down and recharge for 1 to 1 1/2 hours with the Xantrex 300w unit, as it has a standard outlet that I can plug into. I can then use my laptop for another 4-5 hours. Shut it down and recharge it again, etc. etc... Doing this, I can recharge my laptop battery a total of 2-3 times before the Xantrex unit needs to be recharged, and thus I can use my laptop for a total of up to 20 hours!

In response to some other reviews: They do take about 48 hours to charge fully, but you can leave it plugged in and it will automatically maintain it's full charge. I've seen it fully charged, which turns the charging indicator light green. Then I noticed a few hours later that the light was amber again, indicating it was 'maintaining' the charge to keep it full. If I had not previously noticed that the charge indicator was green (full), I too would have drawn the conclusion that it 'took longer than it was supposed to' to charge. But that is not the case.

I've also seen these things sit out in the rain for days and days and still work properly. Although I do not recommend allowing them to get wet, I do think its an attribution to their quality of workmanship. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Listed weight capacity not accurate - not even close
Product literature says this model can hold 275lbs, which is why I bought it.Was using it to ease a 70lb. camera case down a short flight of stairs, very slowly, when wheel cracked and broke midway down.Bad plastic construction of crucial components mean this was a waste of my money.Only used it five times before it broke, never with load greater than 80 lbs., and always took excellent care not to jar it over curbs, steps, etc.The only great feature of this product is its flatness and light weight. Dont use it for anything that weighs more than your cat.

2-0 out of 5 stars Get the new model
Convenient to use BUT the set-up, which looks obvious enough is quite tricky. I brought mine back to the store here in Paris- broken after one try at assembly. I spoke to the salesperson who brought me to a room with a wall lined with broken "Faultless" RuXXac's- all with the same problem. He showed me the new model with a gear mechanism that seems to make set-up easier.Stay away from the older model which is unfortunately still for sale.Hopefully, mine will be replaced with the newer model. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars plastic broke after two months
After two months, the plastic clip broke, making this clip light useless.I would not recommend buying this product. All of lights have plastic clips, and will undoubtedly break the same way.Since the product is trashed, there is no way to evaluate whether the light/battery/switch will actually last.A metal clip or more durable mechanism is advisable...but the manufacturer has continued to make it this way for a long time.

4-0 out of 5 stars Highly recommend this light
I bought some of these lights after seeing one a friend had.The bulbs come in several colors, but I like the blue one the best.Amber, red, and green are not as bright, and the color is distracting. Those colors would be okay for something like concerts or signaling or something. The white light seems to have a hot spot like most flashlights. The blue lights up the dark the same way a bright moon does on a clear night. It's bright enough to see very well in the dark, but without the hot spot that white flashlights give.

As far as lasting a lifetime, I don't think they mean that it will actually last a lifetime, but they do offer to replace battery and/or led free for your lifetime--with the standard handling fee, which ends up being about what it costs to buy a new one.I've had mine for several years now, and use them constantly.Mine are just now beginning to be hard to light; either the switch is getting worn or battery is getting low.I plan to send them back in, or just replace them with new ones, because I like them so much. They're well worth the price.A couple of mine have even been through the washer and dryer and still work (although the dryer deformed the plastic case a little). That's good to know if you plan to use yours in the outdoors--if you drop it in the water, it'll still work. The one thing that would make this light perfect, and the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, is that it needs some way to turn it on permanently. As it is you have to keep the button pressed down to make it light.A great tool.Highly recommended!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great light
I bought one of these in October 2000. It is still going strong. I am not sure about lifetime, but so far it is still shining bright and doesn't show any signs of giving out. Like the other reviewer, I am going to buy a couple more to keep around the house. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Put a vacuum cleaner, battery charger, air compressor, flashlight, and road flare in the trunk of most any car, and there's not much room for anything else. Put a Lentek Auto Power II in the same trunk, and you have enough room left for a mountain of luggage, a spare tire, and a few bags of groceries. The Auto Power II is a must-have auto accessory that offers solutions to almost any car-related problem. Dirty floors and seats? The Auto Power II vacuum is strong enough to suck up everything from crumbs to quarters. Near-dead car battery? The Auto Power II serves as a power source for battery recharging. Need a little juice for portable appliances during camping trips? The Auto Power II acts as a power supply and charger for cell phones, radios, electric shavers, portable CD or MP3 players, and more. The unit also acts as an air compressor to inflate basketballs, tires, and inflatable rafts. Plus, it makes a powerful flashlight or roadside warning light (no more flares!). All this in a portable package the size of a small ski boot. The Auto Power II features a multistage indicator that notifies you of the remaining power, and carries a one-year warranty against defects. --Rivers Janssen ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Mediocre performance
Don't buy this product if your major requirement is vacuuming. It does a really disappointing job. Holding this device to vacuum all corners is a really painful thing. Also the manual is not at all informative; I think they can really do a better job by including some more images along with descriptions. I did not test power source feature for cell phones and laptops, so I can't write about it. Also if you are looking for flash light or emergency light features, it does a decent job. ... Read more

I bought this lock thinking that it would be the right size for my various travel suitcases.

Sure enough, as previous reviews have mentioned, this lock was tooo thick to fit through the holes of any suitcase! It was tremendously heavy as well.

It's a great sturdy lock worthy of the Masterlock name.....just don't buy it for your suitcase. You have been warned.

I bought these locks to go on my luagge. They seem pretty sturdy but are much too wide to be put through the holes in my bag zippers, and I've had to return them. 1-0 out of 5 stars Wrong place to put your money
For the price of this bag and a decent set of cables, you can get a portable jump start system from Husky, Coleman, etc. with a built in worklight (added bonus, you can use these systems as a power source for power outages, tailgate parties, extended cell use, etc.)And, these gadgets are easier to use and/or store than cables.Add about 10 bucks, and you can get the models that have light duty air compressors built in.

5-0 out of 5 stars Must Have for Tidy Northerners
So you live in the north -- maybe even the Great White North, eh?Well, then you know that jumper cables are an absolute necessity for winter.Maybe you have cables and they always get in a tangle; or, perhaps you don't want to get cables because they will just make clutter.Well, then this bag is for you.

The bag is rugged, compact (the size of a good size cheesecake), and nice -- classy even.Best of all, it works!Cables stay in a nice coil, your trunk is less messy, and the cables are easy to grab when you need them.It even has a small pocket on the side for smal items.

My only wish is that it came in black!

2-0 out of 5 stars Pay attention
Ok, I admit I should have paid a little closer attention, but beware. There are NO jumper cables with this. This is merely an overpriced BAG.I suppose if you really like to keep your jumper cables in a heavy duty bag, maybe this is for you, but if that is the case, you may be using your jumper cables too much.Let's be honest, your hope is to never use these things and if you do, you dont need them stored in some expensive bag collecting dust.

Oh by the way, this item CAN NOT BE RETURNED.So pay attention here and hopefully you are smarter than I am. ... Read more
