Dewalt vs. Bosch
First I bought here on ToolCrib the Bosch 3727DEVS 6" and Bosch 3725DEVS 5" random orbital sanders and loved them. They are both good tools. I manufacture R/C model sailboats out of fiberglass and I have used them every day for a year now and they are excellent. So.. when DeWalt ran their special last month for $250.00+ purchase I need to "fill out" my order and I picked up a RECONDITIONED DW423KR 5".

I did not expect it to be as good as the Bosch...WHAT A SURPRISE I received! It is smaller and lighter than the Bosch sanders, and does not have the added handle they have which means it can get into tighter areas... but then does not have the pure power of being able to manhandle it because of the missing handles. ok,... it is as smoooooth as the Bosch 6" which has the extra ballbearing set the Bosch 5" does not. Power? The DeWalt is ever bit the heavy duty tool they say it is packed into that little frame and it came with it's own case/box which is always a plus with me.

The DW423KR uses the same hook/loop paper you use on your other 5" sanders and has the same 8 hole dust removal pattern. A small shopvac will take the dust right off the project surface when you mount it to the dust exhaust.

The only thing I can knock the DW423KR on is that while it is a variable speed tool... it is basically variable between medium and high... there is not much if any range in a low or slow speed.... so you have to back off your grit instead of just backing the speed way down. Other than that.. it is almost a magic wand that makes the errors go away.

Dust? What dust?
When I first received the DeWalt sander I used the attached dust collector, but found I was spending a lot of time emptying it.I then connected the sander to my shopvac and wow!There was literally no dust left upon my project, even when I used a tack rag! ... Read more

Works great for me!
Having read others reviews and with some skepticism, I ordered this washer and received it a couple of weeks ago.Maybe I was just lucky?Shipping was quick and the unit was intact.I've got about 8 hours of mostly continuous use out of it so far...it has worked exactly as I would expect it to.Stripped a cedar deck and a 10 year old, redwood,Rainbow playsystems swingset with ease!They both look like new, ready for a new coat of stain.This unit works great for cleaning vinyl siding and windows.Make sure you fan the spray though or you'll poke holes right through the siding!I have nothing but good things to say about this product.......hope I feel the same in a couple of years!I'll come back and give it 5 stars if it holds up throughout use this summer.

This Pressure Washer is a DOG!
I purchased this pressure washer and was very disappointed. I put alot of faith in the PM magazine review.
This pressure washer would have trouble blasting the icing off a cake!It's way underpowered.Given it's size and weight I can only assume that instead of a powerful pump there might just be bricks inside the case.
I bought the Karcher M397, it's smaller, less money, but it puts out more power. STAY AWAY FROM THE AR EXTREME.You will be Extremely disappointed.

Arrived busted
Was shipped quickly.Box had no damaged but when I took the unit out the hard plastic case was clearly damaged.It was cracked and pieces were laying in the box.The plastic piece used to wrap the cord around was broken off and the section where you attached the handle looked like somebody hit it with a big hammer and knocked a hole it it.Had to have been done at the factory.Terrible quality control.Amazon accepted the return. ... Oil change
Although there are other more optimized tools for oil changes, you can use this, with some practice, to install and remove oil filters as well (without damaging them). I use it for odd maintainance on farm equipment, filter changes included. It is available in different sizes. For the tool to be useful, the size of the tool much match the size of the job, so get the right size. My only gripe is that the teeth can wear down and there is no way to replace them. ... Best In Its Class
Plenty of power- doesn't bog down. Long lived ....... in shops I've worked in PC was the sander of choice.Belt tracks very well. The variable speed is handy and is a separate wheel control as it should be. At this price and the full warranty it's a no brainer. You could pay more and get a lot less sander.

Need to remove alot of stock?This sander is the best.
After trying several belt sanders on the market, I was extremely happy to come across this one.For starters, it never bogs down. No matter how much pressure is put on the platen or how long it runs, the motor never bogs.That was the main problem with other belt sanders I have used.

The sander also has some heft to it.It is not a light weight machine.This is good because it doesn't need a lot of extra force to remove a lot of stock, and the weight helps to keep it on track.If weight is a concern for you, you need to look elsewhere.Although the "elsewhere" sanders won't work as well!

This sander is tough.I was sanding a faceframe one day when my partner accidentally unplugged the machine.I set the machine down (this part is embarrassing) forgetting to turn the trigger off.When I plugged it back in, it pulled itself across the bench and onto the floor before I realized what was happening.It bounced a couple of times and continued across the floor before pulling the plug from the outlet.It purrs like a lion to this day.There has been other times when it has been dropped or stepped on and has never had any problems.

The only drawback, and the reason I gave it only 4 stars, is the dust bag.It gets in the way sometimes when working on other than horizontal surfaces.It can be swung around, though, to the left or right out of the way.Also, the dust bag forms a rub hole, right at the top where the aluminum tube ends inside the bag.I've sealed it with clear silicone which works fine. ... DeWalt DW680KR review
An amazing tool for the home shop enthusiast or professional woodworker.This device has a simple and comfortable feel to it and requires little practice to master.The easy to read and precise blade depth adjustment is one of the best features of this product.The location of the cord exit is also a nice and well thought out feature.I had to retire (begrudgingly) my Makita planer that dad passed on to me after many years and thousands of hours of trouble free use.the DeWalt name has proven itself time and time again as an industry leader in quality for professionals and new users.To prove the quality if the tool, we demonstrated the power of the planer on an 8" diameter green pine log at the hardware show here in the Twin Cities.I had many amazed looks as we accurately shaved off the bark and worked the piece down to a nice & clean square in short order.**Please do not try this with your tools at home as it is not designed for this particular use.**It was utilized as a drastic example to prove the power and functionality of the tool.You are always at your own risk with any tool. Tough, Tough, TOUGH Blades!
You can eventually kill a Lenox blade, but first you have to: demolish walls, cut pipes, plunge cut plywood, saw the fender off your truck, and etc.I have used all the major brands; Milwaukee, B&D, Makita, Dewalt,but none of them keep their teeth as long as Lenox.After a day of heavyuse, these blades have more teeth than the crowd at a barroom brawl!Theyreally have their metallurgy perfected.I have used these for over twentyyears and nothing can compare.The only time I use other brands is when Irun out of Lenox and nothing else is available.You won't be disappointed. ...
