Don't leave home without it
I work as a stagehand and have had this tool for about 7 years now and love it. I use it everyday and can see working without it. The fact that I can open it with one hand in just a snap of my wrist is amazing, it has been a true life saver when I am climbing light rigs upwards of 50 feet and can only have one had free to work. It's strong construction has proven itself to be a tool that I will carry till the day I retire. Many of my co-worker use other multi-tools and they have all said that mine is much better than the ones they carry and wish that they had bought a gerber instead. It's strong, easy to use, dependable, and worth the cost. In the end you get what you pay for.

A solid, sturdy tool...
I have owned my MP600 for six years and use it almost every day.The only damage or severe wear on the tool is when I discovered that the wire cutters should not be used to cut hard steel wire.(Electrical cable, they are just fine, but steel nicks the cutters.)

The pliers can extend one-handed and slide out as smooth as silk, locking into place with a solid "click".(This does take some practice and a little wear.)All of the fold-out tools lock quickly and easily.The tools, especially the file and scissors are top-notch.The fact that the knife blade is half straight, half serrated is not the best design, in my opinion, and I would gladly give up the awl to get separate blades.

I own the optional toolkit, and use it quite often.

Excellent tool... especially at this price...
What a great tool. Paid for itself in one job. I'm a professional cabinet/fixture installer and I use this level on virtually every job. I can set it up in the middle of any room and have level reference points in 5 minutes. A process that used to take two of my guys up to an hour. The three speed remote is handy AND fun to use. I just carry it in my bags and can get a level reference point anywhere in the room in seconds. Anyone that's ever installed long runs of slatwall knows how handy that can be.

Some (minor) problems. The 9-volt battery constantly disconnects in the remote. Since the cover is screwed on (with a flat head no less) I always had to run back to my toolbox to open it. After a few trips... I crammed some packing foam in and it hasn't slipped since. Also... the switch on the remote is kinda "loose" and is easy to switch on accidentally. Not a big deal... just make sure the base unit is off when you pack it up. (Which you should anyway, moving these levels with the pendulum unlocked is bad for them)

A more critical problem is that the laser point will "spread out" over distance. This is typical of "cheaper" lasers. At about 100' the "dot" grows to about a one inch circle. Since I'm usually working in 10-15000 sq. foot stores... this can be a hassle. However, the center of the dot is always level... just calls for a keen eye.

This is a great tool. I tested it against a $3,000 rotating (spinning) laser level system at one job and only went slightly out of level (1/8" down over 200'). ...

I use a simple camera tripod for my level. ...The block threads right into the unit same as it would on a camera.

I also have a robo-tools 5 beam laser unit that I LOVE!

i will never build another deck without this baby!
i am a professional carpenter and let me tell ya, this tool is worth the investment. we have built 2 decks and sided 4 houses using this laser. now we wonder how we ever got by without it. the remote is a must as it enables one person operation. uses AA and 9v batteries.i would recommend this to anyone who wants to up their quality and speed of construction.

Left hand grip breaks due to inferior quality part
The metal left hand grip is attached to the handle with a flimsy plastic part that breaks from the vibrations of normal use. Mine broke after about 3 years of infrequent use in the Northeast. I stored the unit in a dark garage, so UV could not have been a factor. They should have named it "Glass Hog" instead of "Grass Hog". The time and effort required to replace the part, plus the cost of the part plus shipping, makes it uneconomic to repair the trimmer. Black & Decker design their products to last for the 2-year warranty period but not much more.

Two in Less thanTwo Years
I've just returned my second B&D string trimmer for the same mechanical problem -- the spool flies off while in use.The grooves holding the spool onto the drive shaft eventually strip.I used this product approximately twice a month during the grass-cutting season (March through October)...not heavy use in my opinion.I can only recommend that you not waste your time on this product.

great tool
I bought 4 of these originaly with the advice of a friend, Imounted them inside my work van on the doors (I have a window lessvan) by mounting plywood then ataching them.I really didnt thinkthey would work out very well, but was I ever wrong!! Not only do theydo what they are suppose to do (organize screws and such) But theyDONT come open when you dont want them to.I was so impressed withthem that I bought another set for the side doors of my truck. If Ihad more places for them I'd buy more!The weight I ask them to holdis incredible, and they do it!

Smoothest palm sander yet!
This sander caused me to put my other finish sanders on the shelf! The dust collector really works, I thought that there was no way a hard canister would catch that much dust, but it does.
I have used this as final sanding on several projects now and it has produced excellent results.The only drawback was keeping track of the punch plate for putting the holes in the sandpaper, but that comes from being an older woodworker. ... Read more

Close quarters
I resently went into business for myself installing cabinets.I have struggled for months with other drill / drivers to drill holes or drive screws in small or tight cabinets. THIS IS THE PERFECT TOOL FOR BOTH. Also great for removing cabinet door from there hinges. Buy one for yourself, or two. Give one to your helper for Christmas, or his/her birthday. My female partner loves it. She say's "Very easy to handle, but hold on, it has power."
