What is a Victorian wall supply elbow and why do you need one? If you have a Victorian hand shower with a connecting hose attached to it, then you need a Victorian wall elbow to connect the other end of the hose to the wall where the water line comes into your shower. This hand shower unit comes from Gnutti Sebastiano & Figli S.p.A., an Italian manufacturer known for high-end fixtures. This triple-plated hand shower comes with a satin nickel finish, mounts on a sliding bar, attaches with a 59-inch double-interlocked metal hose, and features easily cleaned flexible spray nozzles. The same maker also offers a coordinating soap and shampoo holder (sold separately) that mounts at the bottom of the unit's sliding bar.

One interesting feature is that the flexible spray nozzle insert comes in a vibrant teal the color of surgical scrubs. Perhaps this is deliberate; maybe there is nothing cleaner than a doctor in surgical scrubs about to head into the operating room. The resulting nickel and teal color combo says "good hygiene." Indeed, the showerhead is easy to clean. Rubbing the flexible nozzles removes any buildup. However, the hand shower itself is made of some high-grade plastic, unlike like the sliding bar, hose, and fittings, which are solid brass. Though the hand shower's finish color matches the rest of the unit, it feels too lightweight, as if the manufacturer substituted something cheaper to stay at this price point. The triple-plated showerhead comes in a polished brass finish and features a movable connecting joint that makes it easy to aim the spray.

Though this showerhead measures only 3-1/4 inches in diameter and easily adjusts positions, it does not have adjustable spray patterns. Be brave: the late Victorians stayed clean without massaging showerheads, and so will you.
