Editorial Review

Ironclad has given hands a new lease with their high-tech approach to glove design. Ironclad gloves are made to protect workers' hands better than other work gloves, without feeling clumsy the way so many work gloves can. The first thing we noticed about these gloves is that they're tailored to fit the natural curve hands have in a resting position, rather than being cut straight, so when the hand isn't working, it can actually relax without the glove pulling the fingers in an uncomfortable direction. The palm of this general-utility glove is made of Amara, a synthetic material that mimics the resilience, grip, and comfort of suede while remaining machine-washable and resistant to water damage. High-wear areas are reinforced with tough DuraClad fabric, making these the toughest grip gloves we've ever worn. The fingertips are also reinforced, yet we had no problem with dexterous tasks like picking up coins. We also like the cut of the cuff on these gloves. It comes in tight to the wrist to prevent dirt or other materials from pouring in. Why so many other gloves have gaping cuff designs is a mystery. While the gloves themselves won't be damaged by water, they won't keep your hands dry for long if you're working in really wet conditions. But that can be said of most work gloves, and everything considered, Ironclad gloves are some of the toughest, most comfortable, and easiest-to-work-in gloves we've tried. --Brian Trinen ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Don't Lose Your "FEEL"
These gloves fit tight to the skin while increasing your grip and providing some protection. The key here is to wear the right glove for the job.If I am handling something sharp, I'll wear something heavier than these.Perhaps the only flaw is in the labeling that these are Heavy Utility.

I've been using these as a general work glove for a year now and love the fact that I still have some "feel" with these.I plan on picking up the framer style for situations that require more finger dexterity.

5-0 out of 5 stars Can't go without them!!!
My gloves (Ironclad IC-0300GRBYU-S) that I have had and used regularly since 2000, have grown legs and walked off!!!I can't believe it.After almost 5 years of use, they leave me!!!

So I am buying another pair just like them.I have used the gloves a lot and they stand up to to anything.Highly recommended.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fits like a glove!
I was the first to try these gloves out now everyone in our crew uses them and now so does the loading dock/mail room. We don't do any really heavey construction so for us they work out well. Even the terry cloth on the top side of the thumb comes in handy to wipe the sweat from the brow. My first 2 pairs fit fine and were great. My 3rd pair had some glue on the inside holding down the thread which rubbed against my palm and was quite bothersome but it wore and before long I didn't even notice it. I have used these for minor construction to working on equipment with small screws. Even if your hands get soaking wet the gloves still fit well where a full leather glove has a tendacy to stretch and want to fall off. I am ordering 10 more pairs right now! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars don't be fooled, these gloves suck!
after three weeks of purchase, wearing them for only 3 1/2 days of continuous use, the stiching started to come apart. these gloves are a complete waste of money. i normally buy the blue vinyl gloves and they last 4-6 months of continuous use, unless i abuse them or use in a circumstance i know will tear them. but better the gloves than the hand. with the blue vinyl gloves, i can pick up a washer on a concrete slab. i've also bought leather gloves for 11.00 and cut off the fingers i use most often, just like the ironclad gloves offer. leather feels better than the ironclad. these gloves are just a gimic-gadget, not a quality, durable product, at least that has been my personal experience.

3-0 out of 5 stars Contractor's Use
These gloves are durable for the first month as long as the don't get wet - then they shrink like O.J.'s gloves did. I have found that in handling OSB or other sheathing that the material is not quite capable of stopping the smallest of splinters from piercing your hand through the glove either. Aside from having to spend $25 a month to replace your gloves, one good aspect their ability to grip materials or help you hang onto a new roof loaded with sawdust...

The Makita gloves are far superior - just not skin tight.

5-0 out of 5 stars Could use better thread, BUT...
This is my third pair of Ironclads. I had a pair of general use gloves that served me well and I have a pair of Extreme Cold gloves that worked INCREDIBLY well while installing 108' of porch railings and balusters in 10 degree cold last January. I am not a pro but doa lot of volunteer carpentry and personal work on my house and a summer lake house, both are 100+ years old so they keep me busy. My current pair of framer's gloves have been fantastic. I have been using them for about 6 months and have washed them 2 or 3 times. I have built decks, installed 900 sq ft of bamboo flooring (beautiful stuff but you can get INSIDIOUSLY NASTY splinters from it if you are not wearing gloves!), framed doors and windows and repaired/reglazed and rehung 10 sixteen pane windows, each 6 ft tall and the gloves are still going strong. There is some thread fraying going on but all seams are still intact. Ironclad does need to come up with a better thread, but I am very satisfied with the value of these gloves. I would have worn through the fingertips of 2 or 3 pair of leather gloves by now, not to mention the grief of having to take them off frequently to pick things up or do tasks requiring touch and dexterity. Its hard to imagine going back to leather now. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Never bin a big fan of gloves, but
These glove have changed my mind.Very good dexterity.I am no longer a full time tradesman, and I can't afford to have my hands in the shape they were in when I was in the field.I do more sales then work in the field, and I have developed "office hands".These gloves have saved me more than once when I have to go back in the field.I recently re-shingled my house and wore the gloves from start to finish. No calluses, no tar under the nails, and best of all I had skin on my finger tips at the end of the job.The gloves did take a beating, and I don't think they would make it thru another 15 square, but they fared much better than a pair of brown jerseys would have.A litte tattered and a blown seam or two, but the finger tips stayed on and no holes. They are a little pricey and if they were priced at around $12 to $14, I'd feel that they would be more in line with what I like to spend, but my hands are glad I made the investment.Somebody who uses them everyday will be going thru too many pairs in a year and at the price they are now you would be spend a good bit of your hard earned cash. But price them at $12 bucks and suppliers would not be able to keep'em in stock.

5-0 out of 5 stars IronClad for Years Now
I have had these gloves for at least 4 or 5 years. They have held up great with medium use.I will use these gloves because they are tough and not bulky at all.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great gloves, so far.Feel good, look good.
Only had them for a full workweek so far.Delivery driver.Great palm and fingertip feel, and I can do all the things I need to do in them (DIAD).Great X cross grip on the palm, the terrycloth part over the thumb is good for keeping the sweat out of your eyes. And the back is a light spandex mesh. Now if only they can last.Week one: just broken in.If they last a month I'll get another pair. When people ask where you got your gloves, you know they look good. ...
